Done Breeding: Now I Rule the Beastworld

Chapter 230 - 229: I’m a Demon Cultivator, Too; You Shouldn’t Be Biased

Chu Liangyu wouldn’t have dared to enter with her current cultivation if she wasn’t at least somewhat confident.

The Invisible Cloak and Super Speed Boots from Elder Yu were enough to let her come and go as she pleased in the Demon Realm, to say nothing of the fact that the Heavenly Dao had promised to help her.

Of course, she wouldn’t use these items unless it was a last resort, especially not in front of Li Jingxuan.

Otherwise, her delicate facade would be shattered.

"Don’t worry, Mr. Wen. I have my own ways."

As Chu Liangyu spoke, she shot a sidelong glance at Li Jingxuan, who was following behind them.

’Besides, she had her convenient master with her. If they ran into real danger, she had this tall guy to take the brunt of it.’

"I need to get some training in as well. The Demon Realm is as good a place as any."

Chu Liangyu stopped in her tracks and frowned at him. "Mr. Wen, since you know it’s dangerous, you should go back. I’m grateful for your help this time. Once I return from the Demon Realm, I’ll be sure to pay you a visit."

"You... should find another place for your training."

Chu Liangyu knew that Wen Yan wanting to train in the Demon Realm was just an excuse to follow her.

Wen Yan paused, stunned, then joked, "You’re quite bossy, Miss Chu. Can’t I even choose the same place to train?"

"That’s not what I meant, you..."

"It’s alright, Miss Chu, don’t overthink it. I was already planning to head to the Demon Realm to find some rare Alchemy Materials. I’m just going a little earlier than expected."

Chu Liangyu said nothing more, her gaze resting on his face as a wave of emotion washed over her.

’This Wen Yan is Wen Yan, yet he is not *the* Wen Yan. No matter how many similarities they shared, he... was not him.’

’She shouldn’t conflate the two of them. After all, her Beast Husband, Wen Yan, was already dead. No matter how many regrets she had, it was time to let go.’

"Then I wish you a successful trip, Mr. Wen."

Wen Yan keenly sensed a shift in her gaze. She was no longer looking through him at someone from her past; she was truly, genuinely looking at *him*.

"You too, Miss Chu."

Wen Yan returned her smile with one of his own. It was a pure and brilliant smile, the kind that warmed the heart at a single glance.

And a smile like that had never once appeared on the other Wen Yan’s face.

"What is it in the Demon Realm that you want?"

Both Chu Liangyu and Wen Yan turned around at the same time. Li Jingxuan had appeared behind them at some point, and when he spoke, his gaze was fixed on Chu Liangyu.

Chu Liangyu didn’t answer, retorting instead, "Does Master intend to train in the Demon Realm as well?"

"Yes. To train."

Chu Liangyu froze, stunned. She hadn’t expected him to actually respond to such a blatant taunt.

This unpredictable side of Li Jingxuan left her unsure how to proceed.

Wen Yan, seeing the atmosphere between them growing icy, cleared his throat and said, "It seems my luck is good. With Miss Chu’s master around, I suppose I can borrow some of his might."

"You’re too kind, Mr. Wen," Chu Liangyu said, changing the subject. "A sandstorm is coming. We should find an inn quickly."

"A good idea."

Li Jingxuan’s already chilly aura grew even colder for one simple reason: the way Chu Liangyu treated them differently.

When she spoke with Wen Yan, a faint smile always played on her lips. But when she spoke to him, her expression was utterly detached.

If she didn’t call him "Master," no outsider would ever guess they were master and disciple.

’How rare. So you *can* feel upset. Still not going to admit it? You’re just a depraved man, falling for your own disciple.’

The gloating voice of his Heart Demon chimed in at just the right moment. Li Jingxuan’s brow furrowed. He tried to suppress it as usual, but suddenly found that he couldn’t.

Cold sweat beaded on his forehead. This was the first time he’d ever been unable to suppress his Heart Demon.

Even for someone as perpetually composed as him, a flicker of panic ignited in his heart.

’Don’t waste your energy. The fact that I’m growing stronger only proves what’s in your heart. Why be so stubborn and refuse to admit it?’

The Taichu Sword began to vibrate, reacting to Li Jingxuan’s emotions. The tremors traveled to his hand, which began to shake as if he was losing control.

Yet, just as his emotions peaked, the words of the Heart Clarity Spell fell from Li Jingxuan’s lips. In an instant, the agitated Taichu Sword grew still.

Once he calmed down, Li Jingxuan noticed someone standing before him.

It was his disciple, Chu Liangyu, and her earlier detachment was gone.

Her worried gaze and anxious expression were proof that he still held an important place in her heart.

However, when he looked down at her, her detached expression snapped back into place.

It was as if everything he had just seen was an illusion, but Li Jingxuan trusted his own eyes.

The voice of his Heart Demon hadn’t stopped, but now, his earlier panic and fear were gone.

"I’m fine."

Hearing this, Chu Liangyu gave a slight nod. She took out a map, studied it for a moment, and then led the other two in a new direction.

Her expression was serious, but inwardly she was so delighted she could have beaten gongs and drums to celebrate.

’Given Li Jingxuan’s current state, her Heart Demon mission should be more than halfway complete. All it needed was the right catalyst.’

’The Heavenly Dao had just told her what happened after she was drugged. While Chu Liangyu was a bit embarrassed, she also felt it was a good thing.’

’Although it had been unintentional, she had accidentally managed to provoke Li Jingxuan.’

"Help! Fellow Daoist, please, save me!"

The trio had just stepped into the inn when a Female Cultivator came rushing down the stairs. Perhaps sensing Li Jingxuan’s high cultivation, she immediately ducked behind him, pleading for his help.

The inn was full of people, but they all wore the expressions of onlookers who were happy to watch a good show and had no intention of getting involved.

"She’s just a Demon Cultivator! I suggest you stay out of this!"

At the mention of "Demon Cultivator," expressions of disgust appeared on the faces of everyone in the inn. Those who had been eager for a show suddenly lost interest and turned back to their tea.

"I haven’t done anything wrong! Why do I have to be bullied like this just because I’m a Demon Cultivator?"

Anger flashed across the Female Cultivator’s face, but due to her low cultivation, her expression held no weight.

Li Jingxuan’s gaze flickered. He glanced at the Female Cultivator, then said, "I am also a Demon Cultivator. Make your move."

In that instant, Li Jingxuan unleashed his spiritual pressure. Demonic Qi billowed from him without restraint, revealing his identity as a Demon Cultivator beyond a shadow of a doubt.

"Th-This is between us and her! It has nothing to do with you. Step aside if you don’t want trouble."

But Li Jingxuan’s tone didn’t change in the slightest as he repeated, "I am also a Demon Cultivator. You shouldn’t show prejudice."

The three pursuers’ cultivation levels were not low, but they were only at the Nascent Soul Early Stage. Their arrogance was only ever directed at those with weaker cultivation.

But this time, they were facing not just one of the Divinity Transformation Cultivators, but a notoriously infamous Demon Cultivator. One wrong move, and they might not live to see another sunrise.
