Done Breeding: Now I Rule the Beastworld
Chapter 234 - 233: Cultivation World: Lord Demon King~
When Chu Liangyu arrived at the sealed land, she happened to make it just in time for the tri-monthly opening.
It had to be said, with the Heavenly Dao’s deliberate help, her luck was proving to be quite useful.
The squads entering the Demon Realm were mostly at the Nascent Soul Stage. It was rare to see someone with cultivation as low as Chu Liangyu’s, but they only gave her a passing glance before paying her no more mind.
The Cultivation World was full of those lacking cultivation resources. There was no shortage of people like her, willing to risk their lives for a chance at more.
After all, since they were entering the Demon Realm, forming a party offered the best chance of survival. Although Chu Liangyu’s cultivation was low, she was still casually invited by others.
Chu Liangyu naturally shook her head and refused, her reason being, "Thank you all for your kind intentions, but my cultivation is low. I would only be a burden if I followed you."
After hearing that, the others didn’t press the matter. They were all just strangers who had met by chance, with no obligation to protect anyone else.
Since she had already refused, there was no need for them to say anything more to persuade her. Doing so would only make them seem insincere.
The seal opened, and everyone entered the Demon Realm in sequence. Chu Liangyu was at the very back of the crowd. Shortly after she too had entered, the seal closed once more.
The next opening would be in a month. At that time, squads that had killed enough demon beasts could return to this spot and re-enter the Cultivation World.
"Which way should I go?"
Chu Liangyu had read in a book that the Polar Spring was in the Demon King’s back garden, but the problem was she didn’t have a map of the Demon Realm.
So, after entering, Chu Liangyu directly asked the Heavenly Dao for directions.
"Once you’re out of this forest, head straight east until you see a palace. That’s where the Demon King lives."
"When you get there, I’ll tell you how to get in."
Her goal was just to get the item, so Chu Liangyu had no interest in confronting the demon beasts here. Upon entering, she immediately put on her cloak and Super Speed Boots.
Her speed at the Golden Core Stage might not have been very fast, but with the Super Speed Boots, she was as fast as a Cultivator at the Great Perfection of the Nascent Soul Stage.
Chu Liangyu had always thought that the Beast World was inferior to the Cultivation World in many ways, but what she had seen and heard these past few days told her that the Beast World might not be any worse.
One clear example was that Demon Cultivators in the Cultivation World needed hundreds or even thousands of years to take human form, while people from her Beast World could freely switch between their human and beast forms after reaching adulthood.
The age of maturity varied between different races, with the longest taking eighteen years and the shortest only two or three.
Of course, there were many other aspects that showed the Beast World was not inferior to the Cultivation World; they were just fundamentally different systems.
Chu Liangyu had been too self-deprecating before. Now, with these new insights, she had completely come to terms with it.
After traveling at top speed for nearly a day and a night, Chu Liangyu finally reached the palace the Heavenly Dao had mentioned.
"This is the place. They can’t see you anyway, so just go straight in."
The palace was filled with Demon Cultivators who had already taken human form. Chu Liangyu sized them up with a glance, then did as the Heavenly Dao said and stepped inside.
The moment she entered, Chu Liangyu felt as if she had passed through a watery Barrier. Just as she turned to look back, the Demon Cultivators who had been bustling about suddenly froze in place.
"Is... is that a Human Cultivator?"
In an instant, Chu Liangyu realized something was wrong. She tentatively shifted to the side and saw all their eyes following her every move.
Just as it seemed she was about to be mobbed by a large group of demons, the Heavenly Dao’s voice rang out, "I’ll help you undo a tiny bit of your seal. Release your beast form."
This was exactly what Chu Liangyu had been waiting for. The next moment, the Demon Cultivators surrounding her were sent flying by her massive wings.
"Oh... so she’s one of us. Who was it that just shouted ’Human Cultivator’? Can’t even recognize your own kind."
"But I’m sure I smelled a Human Cultivator just now. The scent is just gone now."
Now that they saw Chu Liangyu wasn’t an outsider, they returned to normal and went back to their tasks.
Cold sweat beaded on Chu Liangyu’s palms. She gritted her teeth and asked inwardly, ’Didn’t you say they couldn’t see me? How did the cloak fail again?’
"Well, it was probably because of that Barrier just now."
After an awkward cough, it reminded her, "Aren’t you looking for the Polar Spring? Get a move on, it’s not far from here."
Chu Liangyu suppressed her temper and, with a grim expression, continued in the direction the Heavenly Dao had indicated.
The Demon King’s palace was surprisingly large. Chu Liangyu had to wind her way through it for a long time before finally reaching the back garden where the Polar Spring was located.
However, the moment she stepped inside, some strange sounds reached her ears.
"Ooh... Lord Demon King, you’re so naughty~"
After a bit of panting, the voice continued, "There are still people here, you know. Aren’t you embarrassed, Lord Demon King?"
Only then did Chu Liangyu notice two figures inside the pavilion next to the bushes. In her haste to find what she was looking for, she hadn’t seen them due to the obstruction.
The Polar Spring was right beside the pavilion. It was just a tiny stream of water, yet it emanated a thick, vibrant life force. Even from a distance, Chu Liangyu was stunned by this power.
"You want this spring water?"
Chu Liangyu had been captivated by the Polar Spring, spacing out for a moment. When she came to her senses, a man in red was standing before her.
His voice was extremely magnetic, tinged with a bewitching quality, yet also held a hint of coolness. It was the kind of voice that made one’s ears tingle.
It was the first time Chu Liangyu had ever heard such a voice. She couldn’t help but rub her tingling ear as she looked up at the man.
The moment she saw his face clearly, Chu Liangyu’s pupils dilated. "How can it be you!"
"So it’s you."
The latter’s voice, however, sounded as if he had seen her before. There was a hint of surprise, but it was quickly replaced by a smile.
He curled his lips and said, "You escaped from Lan Yue Pavilion, but I never expected you to voluntarily enter the Demon Realm to throw yourself at me."
Chu Liangyu unconsciously took a step back, but she tentatively called out, "Jiang Li."
"You actually know my name."
The Demon King narrowed his eyes, his gaze toward Chu Liangyu now tinged with a bit more interest.
"Lord Demon King~ she’s just a crow demon, all dark and grubby. What’s there to look at? Why don’t we get back to what we were doing, hmm~?"
A woman swayed gracefully out of the pavilion. Her figure was incredibly hot and seductive, even a bit better than Chu Liangyu’s. It was no exaggeration to call her a worldly temptress.
Chu Liangyu was still reeling from the shock of seeing Jiang Li from the Cultivation World here, when her attention was captured by this Demon Cultivator.
"Well now~ why are you looking at me like that? Could it be that you’re captivated by my beauty, too?"
She was about to say more, but the Demon King’s somewhat impatient voice cut in from the side, "Leave."
