Done Breeding: Now I Rule the Beastworld
Chapter 246 - 245: Find a Block of Tofu and Die
By the time Chu Liangyu had mostly finished tidying up, Chi Yizhong returned with an elk.
The elk’s four legs were tied up securely. When it was thrown to the ground, it stared at its surroundings with terrified eyes.
Chu Liangyu poured Chi Yizhong a cup of tea and had him stand aside. Then, she took out the Spirit Beast Bag and aimed it at the struggling elk on the ground.
She thought about putting the elk inside, and in the next instant, the elk vanished from before their eyes.
"So it really can hold living things. Then why not Beastmen?"
’Can this Spirit Beast Bag only hold less intelligent creatures? Or can Beastmen be put inside after they revert to their beast forms?’
Two questions flashed through her mind. To figure out the reason, Chu Liangyu turned her gaze to Chi Yizhong. "Um, I’ll have to trouble you for a moment. Change back to your beast form. I want to see if I can put you inside too."
Chi Yizhong paused in the middle of sipping his tea, giving her a strange look.
’So when she asked if I dared to agree earlier, this is what she was planning.’
After a long moment, Chi Yizhong finally set down his cup and cooperatively changed back to his beast form.
Chu Liangyu tried again to put Chi Yizhong into the Spirit Beast Bag, but the result was disappointing. The Spirit Beast Bag didn’t take him in.
From this, Chu Liangyu concluded that the Spirit Beast Bag could hold living creatures, but only those with lower intelligence.
It was far less effective than she had anticipated. Chu Liangyu instantly lost interest. After releasing the elk, she tossed the Spirit Beast Bag to Chi Yizhong.
"Here, go play with it." After a thought, Chu Liangyu took out another storage bag. "This one works the same as the ones Feng Qiwu and the others have. It’s a gift for you."
"I’m not a child."
Chi Yizhong accepted it. Feeling a bit helpless at her child-coddling tone, he couldn’t help but retort.
"So you don’t want it?"
Chu Liangyu glanced at him and reached out to take it back, but Chi Yizhong dodged away.
"I want it."
Chi Yizhong reached a hand into his sleeve and took out the wood carving. "You forgot to take this."
The moment she saw it, Chu Liangyu’s face flushed uncontrollably. She didn’t reach out to take it; with just a thought, the object was stored away in the storage bag she had bought for herself.
As for why she didn’t use the System Space, Chu Liangyu was worried that Lou Sang could see what items she had in there.
If that were true, she would want to die of shame.
So, to avoid unnecessary trouble, she chose to put the item in her storage bag.
"Alright, I have other things to do, so I’ll be leaving now."
With that, Chu Liangyu turned and left. Judging by her retreating figure, it looked very much like she was fleeing in disarray.
It was a rare sight to see her like this. After his initial astonishment, a soft chuckle escaped Chi Yizhong’s lips.
He still remembered what she had said between the sheets—that she was looking forward to him carving more... other positions.
At this thought, Chi Yizhong’s gaze fell upon the wood in the courtyard.
’Since she wants them, I’ll just have to carve some more.’
After leaving Chi Yizhong’s courtyard and walking some distance, Chu Liangyu remembered the five Personal Medicine Gardens in her space.
’Since I’m already out, I might as well deliver the items to Xiong Jiaojiao before heading back to my own courtyard.’
"Female Master, where might you be going?"
Hu Qiumu appeared from somewhere and fell into step beside her, walking shoulder to shoulder.
Noticing her direction, Hu Qiumu had a realization. "Are you going to see Xiong Jiaojiao?"
"That’s right. If you have nothing better to do, you can come along."
After saying this, Chu Liangyu took a dagger out of her space and handed it to him. "I was originally going to have someone deliver this to you. Since you’re here, there’s no need to trouble anyone else."
The sheath of the dagger was engraved with a Nine-tailed Fox, so lifelike it seemed it could leap out at any moment. When held, it had a distinct metallic feel.
Chu Liangyu had even tested it; for this weapon, cutting through iron as if it were mud was a simple task.
And what was especially rare was that this dagger, like her own bronze dagger, was a growth-type Magic Treasure.
Such an item was incredibly rare, even in the Cultivation World. She had no idea why that Shopkeeper had tossed it in a corner. If she hadn’t had such a sharp eye, she likely would have missed it.
The moment Chu Liangyu saw it, she thought of Hu Qiumu. She bought it without hesitation, intending to give it to him.
"Did you see the fox on it and... miss me?"
Hu Qiumu’s words were phrased in a way that could easily be misunderstood. But one had to admit, his guess was spot on—just not in such an amorous way.
"AHEM... Sister Liangyu, what brings you here?"
Xiong Jiaojiao had just walked over when she heard Hu Qiumu’s remark. After a moment of hesitation, she pretended she hadn’t heard anything and greeted them as usual.
"Take a look at these and see if they’re useful for you all."
Chu Liangyu took out all five Personal Medicine Gardens and unceremoniously stuffed them into Xiong Jiaojiao’s arms.
Xiong Jiaojiao froze for a second, then asked, "What are these?"
"Personal Medicine Gardens. Just as the name implies, they’re medicinal fields you can carry with you. You can try planting herbs inside."
Upon hearing this, Xiong Jiaojiao’s eyes lit up, so bright they could have been lightbulbs.
"Th-this is incredibly useful for us Wood Spirit Clan!"
Xiong Jiaojiao was so excited she started to stutter. "Our Wood Spirit Clan levels up by planting herbs and absorbing the feedback energy we get from them. With these, we can absorb energy even when we’re away from home."
"Sister Liangyu, you’re amazing! To think you could get your hands on something I’ve never even heard of."
Chu Liangyu didn’t think much of it. After all, she hadn’t crafted them herself; she had only paid some Spirit Stones for them.
"Don’t get too excited just yet. First, try it out and see if you can use it."
Chu Liangyu reminded her, then began to explain how to use it.
"It needs to be bound, but it’s not difficult. Just prick your fingertip and let a drop of blood fall on it."
Xiong Jiaojiao nodded quickly. She looked at Hu Qiumu and asked pleadingly, "Can I borrow that of yours for a second?"
"You can."
It was his now, after all. Since Hu Qiumu agreed so readily, Chu Liangyu naturally had no objection, only reminding them, "The dagger is very sharp, so be careful."
"I know, Sister Liangyu."
The dagger was indeed as sharp as Chu Liangyu had said. It merely grazed her fingertip—without any force applied—and a bead of blood appeared on Xiong Jiaojiao’s finger.
Almost instantly, Xiong Jiaojiao felt a new connection form in her mind.
"Once it’s bound, you can inspect and use it."
Xiong Jiaojiao did as Chu Liangyu said and tried to look at the medicinal field.
A field of about five mu appeared in her mind’s eye. The soil was dark and looked slightly damp. She could distinctly feel the life force within it.
A place like this was obviously perfect for growing herbs.
"I can use it, and the soil inside is very fertile!"
"That’s good. Take the rest and have the others try them out. See if they can use them too."
