Done Breeding: Now I Rule the Beastworld
Chapter 248 - 247: Attempting a Cultivation Technique from the Cultivation World
"Hu Qiumu, overthinking things often isn’t a good thing. What’s important is to cherish the present. Do... you understand what I mean?" Chu Liangyu deliberately imitated his earlier tone. In that instant, it felt as if her words had dissipated much of the melancholic atmosphere.
Hu Qiumu was a smart man and quickly understood her meaning. The worries in his heart faded, and a smile touched his lips. "Yes, Female Master is right."
"I have a good grasp of the situation in the tribe now, so you don’t need to worry about it anymore. Go and take care of your own business."
In truth, he had already handled most of the tribe’s affairs and had nothing else to do at the moment. But since Chu Liangyu had said this, it must mean she still had some things to finish.
Having guessed as much, Hu Qiumu didn’t delay her any longer. "Alright, then. I’ll be leaving."
With no one to disturb her now, Chu Liangyu headed straight for her own courtyard.
She had brought back quite a few things from the Cultivation World. She needed to sort through them properly before she could start handling other matters.
Her mind on the tasks ahead, Chu Liangyu’s pace quickened. It wasn’t long before she arrived at her courtyard.
To avoid arousing suspicion, her clone had spent most of its time in the courtyard. So, even though she had been gone for half a month, the clone had kept the place spotless.
Without the rush she had felt upon her initial return, Chu Liangyu looked around the familiar courtyard again, a sense of unprecedented peace settling in her heart.
After entering her room, Chu Liangyu emptied everything out of her System Space.
In an instant, the floor was covered with Elixir Talisman Array. At first glance, the sight was dazzling.
Of course, intrigued by the Spells of the Cultivation World, Chu Liangyu had also bought some common Cultivation Techniques to see if she could practice them.
She also considered that several of her Beast Husbands had helped her block tribulation lightning. If she gave a gift to only one of them while ignoring the others, it would inevitably cause friction over time. Therefore, Chu Liangyu had prepared something for each of them.
First, she set aside the gifts she had yet to give out, then Chu Liangyu began to slowly organize the remaining items.
The talismans had a wide variety of uses, from rain-making talismans to explosion talismans, covering both defense and offense. The only problem was their quality wasn’t very high.
Thinking of this, Chu Liangyu felt a pang of regret that she hadn’t been able to visit the Treasure Pavilion before she left the Cultivation World.
If only she had been able to go in and shop, the quality of the items she brought back would have been worlds better than these.
But she had provoked someone she shouldn’t have, so it wouldn’t be wise to return anytime soon. She’d have to wait for any high-quality items.
’Purple Thunder Technique?’
Chu Liangyu had bought quite a few Cultivation Techniques. Noticing one related to thunder, she became interested.
’I have the Thunder Spirit. If I can use this Cultivation Technique, my combat power should rise to another level.’
Focusing on trying out this Cultivation Technique, she temporarily set aside the task of organizing her things.
The energy Chu Liangyu currently used was Creation Power. This energy was closer to Origin Power, so its level was naturally higher than the Spiritual Energy of the Cultivation World.
Because of this, Chu Liangyu succeeded on her very first try. After calming her excitement, she went on to try the other hand formulas.
The instant she completed the hand formula and uttered the spell, a Thunder Ball appeared in her palm.
This wasn’t the power of the Thunder Spirit, but Thunder that Chu Liangyu had created herself using the Cultivation Technique.
Although she couldn’t test the Thunder’s power right now, she could feel that the might of the Thunder in her palm was in no way inferior to that of the Thunder Spirit.
Just as she was thinking that her Thunder Spirit might be a bit redundant, it appeared on her shoulder. Before she could even ask, the Thunder Spirit scurried to her palm and, with one gulp, ate the Thunder Ball.
"You’re such a glutton. You won’t even let a little bit like this go to waste."
The corner of Chu Liangyu’s mouth twitched, and she couldn’t help but make the sarcastic comment. But the Thunder Spirit acted as if it didn’t understand, looking at her with an expectant gaze.
The meaning in its gaze was perfectly clear: ’Quick, make some more for me. I want more.’
Chu Liangyu was good-natured, so seeing it act like this, she made a few more Thunder Balls for it to eat. But by the time she was getting impatient, the little creature still hadn’t had its fill.
"If you keep eating like this, I won’t get anything else done all day."
She casually placed the Thunder Spirit on the table and ignored it.
Placing the "Purple Thunder Technique" into her storage bag, Chu Liangyu went back to organizing the other items.
The other Cultivation Techniques were all common ones in the Cultivation World that could be bought as long as one had Spirit Stones, but Chu Liangyu didn’t care about their level.
Her Creation Power was fundamentally different from Spiritual Energy. Even with a simple Cultivation Technique, the power she could unleash was immense.
The greatest benefit these Cultivation Techniques offered her was a wider variety of attack methods.
After about the time it takes to burn an incense stick, Chu Liangyu finally finished organizing everything.
She put most of the items into her storage bag, placing only the things she used infrequently into the System Space.
Her reason for doing this was related to what Hu Qiumu had said: people’s hearts can change.
She had known Lou Sang for so long that she trusted him unconditionally.
’But that kind of trust could be fatal. I shouldn’t be so unguarded; I have to leave myself a way out, just in case.’
What Chu Liangyu hoped for most was that she would never have to feel grateful for having left herself this escape route.
If that day ever came, it would mean that she and Lou Sang had become irreconcilable enemies.
Once her things were sorted, Chu Liangyu took out the gifts meant for her several Beast Husbands.
She didn’t even need to deliver them herself. She stopped a patrolling member of the Guard Team, gave a few instructions, and the man went off to deliver the gifts to the other Beast Husbands as she had asked.
These were just minor chores. Chu Liangyu rested for a moment, then, without further delay, entered the Land of No Worries.
The space looked just as it had the last time she’d entered, except that there were more Contract Books on the table.
Perhaps because of these additional Contract Books, the semi-circular table looked even more cluttered.
Chu Liangyu walked over, sat down in the chair, took her own Seal out of a drawer, and began to seriously examine the Contract Books.
She wouldn’t have known if she hadn’t looked, but once she did, Chu Liangyu understood why the Contract Books needed the Beast God’s seal.
There were truly all kinds of vows inside; even the unintentional words of a young cub could generate a Contract Book.
’If the Heavenly Dao had to manage even these kinds of Contract Books,’ Chu Liangyu thought, ’it would probably have a breakdown, too.’
