Done Breeding: Now I Rule the Beastworld
Chapter 271: If You Kill Them, You Can't Kill Me Anymore, You Know
Chu Liangyu couldn’t quite put her finger on what she was feeling. To say she was sad… well, their deaths didn’t hit her as hard as Wen Yan’s had.
But to say she wasn’t sad at all felt wrong; there was a flicker of grief. Mostly, it was because those two had died so suddenly. Not only was the matter in the Southern Barbarian Land unresolved, but now she had to rush over to clean up their mess. It was just unbelievable.
Lou Sang hadn’t informed her about this in time. He couldn’t help but feel that if he’d found out sooner, she could have rushed over and saved them. Because of this, he felt a pang of guilt.
Hearing his words of comfort, Chu Liangyu just shook her head. “Everyone has their own fate. What’s done is done. Let it be.”
“Aren’t you angry with me?”
“I’m not.”
Lou Sang didn’t seem to believe her. He hesitated, wanting to say more, but Chu Liangyu cut him off. “Is this it? Is this where that Demon Cultivator is?”
They were moving so quickly that they had arrived at their destination in the time it took to speak.
“Yes, this is the place.”
Seeing that she genuinely didn’t seem to care about the matter, Lou Sang shut his mouth and didn’t bring it up again.
“I’m going to go meet her. You wait here for me.”
“Be careful, then.”
Lou Sang’s warning echoed behind her, but Chu Liangyu was in no mood to reply. She just wanted to see who this Snake Demon was.
Having learned the Snake Demon’s exact location, Chu Liangyu went straight to her residence. But the moment she stopped, she heard… indescribable, even explosive, sounds coming from inside.
Chu Liangyu’s expression darkened. For a moment, she wasn’t sure if she should charge in right now. In the end, she simply dropped her concealment aura. After revealing herself like this, the Snake Demon would surely be able to detect her with her abilities.
‘If the Snake Demon comes out on her own, I won’t have to go in and pollute my eyes.’
“Who goes there? To think you enjoy eavesdropping on others.”
The moment she revealed her presence, a woman’s coquettish voice, charming to the bone, drifted from behind the door. Chu Liangyu found it somewhat familiar, as if she had heard it somewhere before.
While she was furrowing her brow in thought, the door was pushed open. Seemingly unconcerned by her visitor, the Snake Demon didn’t even bother to properly dress herself. She just lazily glanced in Chu Liangyu’s direction.
“Well, well, isn’t it our Lord Demon King’s beloved Little Crow? What are you doing here?”
‘Alright, now I know why her voice sounded familiar,’ Chu Liangyu thought. ‘So it’s an acquaintance.’
This was the Female Demon who had been kissing Jiang Li in the pavilion when Chu Liangyu first met him in the Cultivation World.
Chu Liangyu frowned and, after a long moment, said, “You don’t belong here.”
“I know. But I think this place is quite nice. No danger, and handsome men in my arms. Little Crow, aren’t you here for the same reason?”
The Snake Demon giggled and stepped closer to her. “Besides, I’ve heard that you’re just like me—you have many companions. No, wait, according to the local term, they should be called Beast Husbands.”
Chu Liangyu didn’t bother arguing with her, simply stating, “You have two choices. One, let me send you back. Two, I kill you, then send your soul back.”
“Choose.”
As her words fell, black wings unfurled from Chu Liangyu’s back. The totem on her brow glowed with a faint golden light, exuding a sacred aura that pressed down on the very soul.
These changes were clearly different from how she was in the Cultivation World, and the Snake Demon was no fool. As a Demon Cultivator, her perception of danger was far sharper than that of an ordinary person.
“Um, Little Crow, can I choose neither?”
“No.”
Chu Liangyu’s trident was already in her hand. From her posture, it looked as if she might attack at any moment.
“Fine, fine! I’ll go with you.”
She reverted to her true form—a massive, crimson Snake Demon. She slithered to Chu Liangyu’s side, then gradually shrank until she was no thicker than a human finger.
Before Chu Liangyu could say anything, the snake familiarly coiled around her left wrist, looking at first glance like a red, snake-shaped bracelet.
“Little Crow, you feel different somehow. And what you said… that I don’t belong here. Does that mean you *do* belong here?”
“If that’s true, the Lord Demon King will be heartbroken when he can’t find you.”
Chu Liangyu had expected they would fight, at least a little. She never would have guessed this Demon Cultivator was so spineless, giving up the moment she sensed danger.
“Little Crow, why aren’t you talking? Oh, right, you don’t know my name yet, do you? I’m Hong Xue. What’s your name?”
Chu Liangyu shot her an impatient glance. “Can you be quiet?”
“I’m just curious. Why are you being so mean?”
Chu Liangyu ignored her again and turned to walk out of the courtyard.
But just then, a voice called out to her. “Stop! By what right do you take our Female Master? Let her go!”
The newcomer was dressed in black from head to toe, looking just like… a black snake.
“I am taking her. What are you going to do about it?”
Chu Liangyu was itching for a fight to blow off some steam. Now that some fool had stumbled into her path, she wasn’t about to be polite.
“Hah. Then don’t blame me for being impolite.”
Chu Liangyu’s guess was correct. When the man transformed into his beast form, he was indeed a black python.
The python’s thick tail, reeking of a foul stench, came crashing down on her without mercy.
Chu Liangyu didn’t dodge. Instead, just as the tail was about to hit her, she thrust her trident viciously down into it.
The tail was pinned firmly to the ground. He couldn’t fight back; even the slightest movement sent a wave of pain so intense it blurred his consciousness.
The scales on his tail were tough, but against her upgraded trident, they were utterly useless!
With its tail pierced, the python’s entire body began to tremble in pain, the fury in its eyes almost tangible.
Chu Liangyu remembered that the first Beastman she had ever killed was also a black snake. The only difference was that back then, she had relied on a sneak attack. This time, she faced her enemy head-on.
“Little Crow, why don’t you let him go? He was only trying to save me.”
Chu Liangyu had paused, lost in a memory of the past, when Hong Xue’s voice sounded in her ear.
“He brought this on himself. Besides, I haven’t settled the score with you for killing two of my Beast Husbands yet.”
Chu Liangyu pulled her trident from the python’s tail. Meeting the beast’s hateful gaze, she didn’t hesitate, thrusting the trident straight for its vital spot.
With the SQUELCH of piercing flesh, the black python collapsed, its life extinguished in an instant.
Hong Xue fell silent. So those two were her Beast Husbands. No wonder she was so ruthless, leaving him no chance to survive.
‘So, this is her revenge.’
“If you want revenge, there are plenty more inside.”
“But… if you kill them, you can’t kill me too, okay?”
