Done Breeding: Now I Rule the Beastworld
Chapter 281: Extra: Chi Yizhong, You'd Better Not Bully an Honest Person
“There’s no problem.”
Chu Liangyu awkwardly touched her nose and didn’t offer any explanation.
“Oh, right, Sister Liangyu, I’ve recently planted some new medicinal herbs. Do you want to come see them?”
“I’m free right now. Let’s go have a look.”
Generally speaking, as long as disputes between Beast Husbands didn’t affect the tribe’s development, Chu Liangyu had no desire to get involved and manage them.
She had only come this time out of concern that their fight might harm innocent bystanders or, worse, destroy the tribe.
After the matter was resolved, Chu Liangyu paid it no more mind, treating it as nothing more than a minor farce.
「After nightfall」
The Guard Team went on patrol as usual. The only difference was that, unlike other nights, outsiders had infiltrated the tribe.
As it happened, Hua Yao, the captain of the Guard Team, was leading the patrol that day. After sensing something was amiss, he immediately ordered the others, “Spread out! We must find the people who broke into the tribe.”
“Yes, sir.”
Strangely, they still hadn’t managed to root out the intruders by the second half of the night.
But they couldn’t just let the matter drop. From then on, Hua Yao patrolled with the Guard Team every day, determined to find the two people who had broken in.
Ever since the bet was made, Chi Yizhong had been completely immersed in his carving every day, unaware that outsiders had infiltrated the tribe.
With the statue more than half-carved and only one day left, Chi Yizhong wasn’t in a hurry anymore.
He rubbed his eyes. They felt sore, and his mind was groggy from the prolonged concentration.
After taking a deep breath to compose himself, Chi Yizhong turned and walked into the house.
‘In my current state, I need to lie down and rest for a bit to recover.’
‘At my pace, it’ll take less than an hour to finish the rest anyway.’
“Sis, is this really a good idea? Will he agree to let us be his cubs?”
Chu Li glanced hesitantly toward the room, clearly disapproving.
“I’m afraid… once he finds out we were the ones causing trouble, he won’t be able to stop himself from killing us.”
Chu Yue, however, was perfectly calm, as if this wasn’t a concern at all. “No matter what, we’re still the Beast Mother’s cubs. He won’t do anything to us.”
Besides, he was once a clone of the Jiang Li Beast Father. Even though that connection is gone now, Chu Yue refused to believe he felt nothing for them in his heart.
Even if he wouldn’t admit it, they were, in name at least, his cubs.
And they had no other motive. They just didn’t want to live all alone in this Beast World.
If they had a place to belong, the two of them wouldn’t have to wander around aimlessly anymore.
Although Chu Li was hesitant, he couldn’t go against his sister’s determined decision. He obediently picked up the stone statue and followed behind her, huffing and puffing as he went.
“I heard there’s only one day left. When are we going to give it back to him?”
“There’s no rush. In the end, we won’t let him lose.”
The two figures gradually faded into the darkness, and after a moment, they disappeared completely.
「At the crack of dawn」
Chi Yizhong pushed open the door to his room and walked straight to where the statue had been the night before.
But now, there was nothing there!
Chi Yizhong’s eyebrows knitted together. He moved closer, only to find the spot was truly empty. It wasn’t a hallucination.
His mind went blank for a second. When he came to his senses, the first person he thought of was Feng Qiwu.
‘Feng Qiwu is such a petty person; he was the most likely one to have stolen the statue.’
‘With only one day left, there’s no way I can carve a new one. The only solution is to force Feng Qiwu to hand over the statue.’
At this thought, the tension in Chi Yizhong’s brow eased slightly.
Without even bothering to wash up, he rushed straight to Feng Qiwu’s residence.
At that moment, Feng Qiwu was sleeping soundly in his bed, blissfully unaware of what was about to befall him.
Chi Yizhong’s method for forcing someone to hand over the statue was simple: violence. Of course, he couldn’t let anyone in the tribe find out, especially *her*.
So, the first thing he did after pushing the door open was clamp a hand over the other man’s mouth. Then, he carried him out of the tribe at top speed, so fast that the person had no time to react.
Only when they were deep in the forest did Chi Yizhong finally throw the man to the ground, his eyes filled with obvious impatience and rage.
“Hand over the statue. Otherwise, you won’t be going back to the tribe.”
Feng Qiwu looked completely bewildered. “What statue?”
“The statue I was more than halfway done carving is gone. Who else would have stolen it but you?”
Feng Qiwu never expected that he would one day be the one who was wrongly accused.
He admitted that he could be a bit underhanded at times, but when it came to a bet like this, he was gracious enough to lose. He wouldn’t deign to use such villainous tactics.
“You’re making baseless accusations! What proof do you have that I did it?”
“Let me tell you, I wouldn’t stoop to something like this! Only someone with a petty mind like yours would think I’m that despicable.”
Chi Yizhong didn’t believe a single word he said. So, without another word, he raised his fist and smashed it toward Feng Qiwu’s face.
Feng Qiwu hadn’t expected him to be so direct. He didn’t have time to react and took the punch full-on.
“Hand over the statue.”
“I already told you, I didn’t steal it!”
Feng Qiwu was not the type to swallow an insult. After getting to his feet, he too swung his fist at the other man’s face.
Both men had a tacit understanding not to use their beast forms, relying entirely on their own strength and combat experience.
The reason was simple: fighting in beast form was too conspicuous and would certainly attract people from the tribe to investigate.
It was understandable why Chi Yizhong wouldn’t use his beast form. As for Feng Qiwu, he already had a prior record of fighting Xiong Xianhui in the tribe. He was afraid that if Chu Liangyu found out, she would expel him.
Even though he hadn’t started this fight, he wasn’t willing to gamble on that slim possibility.
Neither man’s strength was to be underestimated. Even without their beast forms, their fists still carried immense power, enough to punch clean through a tree with a single blow.
One had to understand that the trees in the Beast World required at least five people to encircle, which just went to show how terrifying their strength was.
This also proved that when Chi Yizhong had punched Feng Qiwu in the face earlier, he had been holding back and had no intention of killing him.
They fought like this until the sun was about to set. In the end, Chi Yizhong, with his tougher physique, defeated Feng Qiwu.
He stood there, his face covered in purple and blue bruises, yet he seemed to feel nothing. Looking down at Feng Qiwu on the ground, he said again, “Hand over the statue.”
“Why are you so stubborn? I told you I didn’t steal it! Even if you beat me to death, I still don’t have it.”
His words fell on deaf ears, and he couldn’t win the fight, so Feng Qiwu decided to just give up.
His posture seemed to say, ‘Believe it or not, I don’t care. Go on, kill me if you’ve got the guts.’
It was just a bet. It wasn’t worth risking one’s life over. And Feng Qiwu was acting like this…
After watching Feng Qiwu in silence for a moment, Chi Yizhong’s own conviction began to waver. “You really didn’t steal it?”
Feng Qiwu shot Chi Yizhong an irritated glare and roared, “No, I didn’t! How many times do I have to say it? Are you deaf or something?!”
