Done Breeding: Now I Rule the Beastworld
Chapter 95 - 94: Someone Accustomed to Delicacies
Chu Liangyu fell silent for a moment, then explained, "I’m not the Beast God, just one of his successors."
"Oh, I see. No wonder I thought your beast form looked so familiar, Sister Liangyu."
Xiong Jiaojiao said thoughtfully, "That position isn’t decided yet, is it? What are your plans, Sister Liangyu? I can help you."
"There were three successors in total. I’ve already taken care of one." Thinking of the troubles she’d suffered at Jiang Li’s hands, Chu Liangyu’s expression became hard to describe. "And I’ll take care of the other one sooner or later."
"For now, I just need you to do what I’ve told you. I haven’t thought about the rest yet."
"I know. So far, more than half of the people have begun the first stage of Body Refining."
The sounds of battle outside gradually died down. Xiong Jiaojiao peeked out through a gap and saw that the situation had mostly stabilized. "Sister Liangyu, you can go out now."
This was the time for Chu Liangyu to start organizing the tribe’s affairs. After checking the condition of the people on the ground, Chu Liangyu breathed a sigh of relief. "Find some people to move them all to one place and watch over them. I’m going to take a look outside."
Xiong Jiaojiao nodded in agreement. With a light wave of her hand, the vines receded.
"Chief, most of the attackers have been killed. We’ve left a few alive. What do you think we should do with them?"
Chu Liangyu recognized the speaker. It seemed to be the Great Elder from the Jinling Clan. The man was hot-tempered but also quite an interesting little old man.
"For now, lock up those survivors. I’ll interrogate them later when I have time."
On the outskirts of the crowd were the Qingqiu Fox Clan and the rabbit cubs that Jinling had brought back. Noticing their travel-worn appearances, Chu Liangyu immediately said, "Cheng Miao, arrange for accommodations for the new members."
Like Xiong Jiaojiao, Cheng Miao had been constantly supporting everyone in battle. At first glance, he looked a bit disheveled, but he silently accepted the order and led the people away.
"The rest of you will stay and clean up the battlefield. Also..." Chu Liangyu’s gaze swept over everyone present, her tone becoming more serious. "I’ve heard about your infighting. Tomorrow, I will summon the Elders to discuss a solution."
They had never seen a female who was still combat-capable after Beastification. Chu Liangyu’s performance today had truly left many of them still reeling from the shock.
As a result, from the moment she appeared and started speaking, no one dared to so much as whisper.
To be honest, before this, they all thought Chu Liangyu had only become chief because of her Beast Husbands. Most of them had secretly been unconvinced of her right to lead.
"What are you all still standing around for? Get moving!"
After a moment of dazed silence, the crowd seemed to flip a switch and began clearing the wreckage in the tribe.
But every now and then, Chu Liangyu could feel the gazes of her tribespeople on her.
She could guess what they were wondering about, but she had no intention of satisfying their curiosity.
Chu Liangyu looked around but was surprised to find that Lou Sang was nowhere to be seen.
"Looking for me?"
Lou Sang had appeared by her side at some point and tapped her on the shoulder.
"You didn’t go help?" Chu Liangyu couldn’t help but raise an eyebrow, seeing how clean and neat he looked.
Lou Sang coughed, a guilty look on his face as he explained, "You know who I am. As a World Spirit, I’d be punished if I interfered carelessly."
"Remember when I helped you get rid of the Childbirth System? If I interfered again this time, the punishment would be even more severe."
"That’s true." Chu Liangyu didn’t sound particularly accusatory. Thinking of the warning messages he had sent, she knew he had helped her in his own way.
"Tell me more about the things you mentioned in your messages."
"I can, but you’ll have to find me a warm place first, and then brew a pot of hot tea."
Lou Sang led the way toward her room, not forgetting to call back to her, "Come on, aren’t you cold?"
"I have a Defense Magic Robe. I’m not cold."
Lou Sang paused mid-stride and hissed. "I should’ve bought one for myself. Now you’re just showing off."
Chu Liangyu couldn’t be bothered to respond to his grumbling and followed him into the room in just a few steps.
On the table was a pot of tea that had gone completely cold; when moved, you could even hear the sound of ice clinking against the inside.
Chu Liangyu paused for a moment and couldn’t help but sigh. "It really is cold."
"What do you think?" Lou Sang shot her a look, snatched the teapot from her hand, and began heating the water with his own energy.
"I overestimated Feng Qingqing before. I actually thought she could bewitch those Beast Husbands of yours into doing something."
Soon, the tea began to bubble, and white steam billowed from the spout.
Lou Sang casually poured a cup for each of them and continued, "They all reacted very quickly. The moment they sensed something was off, they started to distance themselves from Feng Qingqing, so she never got to do anything substantial."
"When someone is used to eating gourmet delicacies, do you think they’d settle for scraps?"
Chu Liangyu took a light sip of her tea, her voice full of confidence and composure.
Lou Sang nearly spat out the tea he had just taken a sip of. He managed to hold it in, but still ended up choking and coughing uncontrollably.
His fair face was completely flushed, and even the tips of his ears were beet red. After taking a moment to recover, he pointed a trembling finger at Chu Liangyu. "You... you’re so shameless!"
Chu Liangyu was amused by his reaction and let out a soft laugh. Her laughter was unique—enchanting, yet with a hint of ethereal grace that left one feeling tingly all over.
The blue scale on her forehead seemed to ripple gently like water. With her curved eyebrows and smiling eyes, her thoughts were impossible to read. Veiled in the steam from the tea, she exuded a unique kind of allure.
"Alright, I can’t win an argument with you. I’m not going there."
After a few more cups of hot tea, Lou Sang’s mood improved considerably. "Speaking of which, what do you plan to do with that Feng Qingqing?"
"After all, no woman can tolerate someone else coveting her Beast Husbands."
"At a time like this, she’s not thinking of leaving the tribe?" Chu Liangyu asked, setting down her teacup in surprise.
"Nope. She was injured by those bird-people. She’s already been carried off for treatment. Even if she wanted to leave, she probably... doesn’t have the strength."
Chu Liangyu lowered her gaze in thought. With the conversation paused, the room fell quiet for a moment.
Lou Sang glanced at her and suggested, "She’s the daughter of the Phoenix Clan’s matriarch. Why don’t you find a way to have her persuade her clan to join you?"
"Females hold the power in their clan. Your Body Technique that allows females to undergo Beastification should be a huge temptation for them."
’I had naturally considered this idea myself,’ Chu Liangyu thought, ’but the girl’s recent ambiguous entanglement with my Beast Husbands makes keeping her in the tribe feel... uncomfortable.’
But it was undeniable that with Feng Qingqing as a connection, dealing with the Phoenix Clan would indeed be much easier.
*Tsk.* ’Looks like if I want to use Feng Qingqing, I’ll have to extinguish those improper thoughts of hers first.’
"That’s a pretty good idea. I’ll go find her tomorrow."
"You’re certainly generous."
Lou Sang didn’t know what Chu Liangyu was thinking and had simply said it with sincere admiration.
