Chapter 372: Chapter 372

"Ga... Gasoline?"

Hearing Suzy mention what was inside, Tina froze on the spot, her jaw visibly dropping.

"Yep," seeing her stunned, disbelieving expression, Suzy repeated with a faint smile, "It’s gasoline."

As she spoke, Suzy took the initiative to unscrew the cap of the fuel container, letting Tina verify it for herself.

"This should be enough to get you guys through a good stretch of your journey," Suzy said.

Tina was still completely caught up in shock.

Gasoline—that was the one thing her team lacked most right now. Just a moment ago in the car, everyone was fretting over how to solve their fuel shortage, nearly coming to blows over it.

How could Tina have imagined that a problem causing such endless distress would be resolved just like that?

Gasoline issue... solved for them by Suzy...

A gust of wind blew past, carrying the distinct smell of fuel straight into Tina’s nostrils. She had never found that scent so wonderfully sweet before.

It really was gasoline.

Prompted by a gesture from Suzy’s eyes, Tina picked up the container and hefted its weight.

In an instant, she was floored once again by how heavy it felt.

"Suzy... isn’t this a bit too much?" Tina’s voice wavered.

The container was completely full! A whole 30-liter container filled to the brim! Where on earth did Suzy manage to get this much fuel?!

Tina’s shock reached an all-time high. Ever since the apocalyptic outbreak, she had never laid eyes on this much fuel at once. Usually, her squad had to scrape together tiny bits here and there. Not long after the apocalypse began, gas stations were stripped clean by scavengers, and any remaining fuel was either contaminated or completely unviable.

To Tina, this single container of gasoline given by Suzy was no different from solid gold.

"It’s fine, it’s not too much," Suzy smiled. "I still have a bit left for myself, enough for my own needs. Just take it."

Tina stared intently at Suzy, her eyes gradually glistening with tears.

Her lips trembled slightly as she tried to decline—what Suzy was giving away was far too precious, and she felt ashamed to accept it. But... this was precisely what her team needed most right now, making it impossible for her to turn down.

"Miss Becker, there’s no need to stand on ceremony with me," Suzy urged gently. "Take it—you guys really need it right now, don’t you?"

Tina blinked away her tears and nodded forcefully. "Alright then, I won’t stand on ceremony with you. I’ll take it."

"That’s more like it," Suzy laughed, looking toward the road ahead.

Just up front was the fork in the road. In a moment, they would officially part ways.

Noticing Suzy’s gaze, Tina looked over as well, her mood immediately dipping.

"We’re separating in a moment," Tina murmured.

As if remembering something, she grabbed Suzy’s hands, her tone turning deeply serious. "Suzy, be careful on the road ahead."

Without waiting for Suzy to nod, Tina continued, "Heading to P City along this route, you’ll run into quite a few factions. Avoid them whenever you can. None of them are easy to deal with, so it’s best to keep a low profile. As long as their demands aren’t too unreasonable, just agree to them."

Suzy paused for a beat. "Miss Becker, is there any other route we can take?"

Just listening to Tina’s description was already giving Suzy a headache. Multiple hostile factions?

Since keeping a low profile was best, Suzy felt that taking a detour wouldn’t be a bad idea at all.

"None," Tina’s straightforward answer shattered Suzy’s hopes.

"To get to P City from here, you have to cross the Northern River. No matter how you travel or how wide of a detour you take, you’ll need to cross a bridge. And almost every single bridge has its outposts set up on both ends..."

Hearing this, Suzy understood completely.

There was no dodging it—no way around it at all. Unless she didn’t cross via a bridge. That meant either taking a boat or flying an aircraft.

While Suzy actually did have a boat stored away, with Mark by her side, pulling it out would be impossible to explain. As for an aircraft... she didn’t have one of those.

"Don’t worry too much," seeing Suzy knit her brows, Tina patted her shoulder gently. "You can take Whitestone Bridge. I know someone at that outpost. Just mention my name when you get there, and they won’t give you too much trouble."

After giving a few more directions, Tina bade farewell to Suzy.

"I’ll be off then, Miss Becker. I hope we get the chance to meet again."

Tina had already walked a short distance away, but upon hearing Suzy’s words, she turned back and pulled her into a warm embrace.

"We will meet again," Tina whispered softly.

Suzy and Mark set off first.

Tina carried the heavy container of oil back to her squad’s vehicle.

At this moment, everyone inside the car was feeling visibly anxious, still agonizing over their dire fuel situation.

"Hey, do you guys think... we’re gonna have to walk on foot from here on out?"

"Walk? What walk? We haven’t hit rock bottom yet."

"If even a gas station doesn’t have fuel, how are we supposed to find any anywhere else?"

"Stop being so pessimistic. Who knows, maybe our luck will turn around."

"Luck? Are you kidding me? Nothing ever goes that smoothly."

"Cut it out, all of you. It’s not the end of the line yet. We still have enough gas in the tank to get us a bit further down the road. Let’s see what happens up ahead."

The inside of the vehicle was in total disarray.

With everyone heatedly arguing over the fuel situation, no one had paid any attention to Tina and Suzy outside. Consequently, nobody knew that Suzy had just gifted them a container of gasoline.

"What are you all bickering about?" Tina pulled open the car door.

She had heard her teammates arguing from a distance, every one of them sounding thoroughly agitated.

"Nothing, just debating about the gas."

The moment Tina appeared, everyone quieted down significantly.

"Did Miss Kale already leave?"

"Yeah, she’s gone."

Suzy’s vehicle had been behind theirs, and the fork in the road was off to their rear side. Thus, the squabbling group hadn’t noticed when Suzy drove off.

"That was fast."

"She’s heading to P City. Next time we head back there, maybe we’ll run into her again."

Learning that Suzy had departed finally brought a lull to the bickering inside the car.

Before long, someone noticed the extra object standing beside Tina, though the lighting was too dim to see what it was clearly.

"Tina, what’s that you brought back?" the person asked.

At the mention of this, a faint smile surfaced on Tina’s face.

"Suzy gave this to us," Tina said. "It’s a gift."
