Chapter 1110: Chapter 1102: Searching for the Truth 10
And upon waking, she found herself in the hospital room, next to her unconscious father.
She had a nightmare where she saw Aiden Shaw on the highway, having a car accident, covered in blood, with flesh mangled.
It scared her awake.
Tiana Thorne felt a bit flustered, her heart still pounding furiously, even her palms sweating.
She thought perhaps she was too tired recently, which led to consecutive nightmares, leaving her slightly uneasy.
But she wasn’t sure if Aiden Shaw was safe.
She checked WeChat, hoping to find a message from Aiden Shaw.
The screen was clean with no response from him.
Hesitating for a moment, Tiana Thorne took the initiative to message Aiden Shaw: "Fourth brother, I think I miss you."
She rarely sent such messages, but at this moment, besides missing him and feeling uneasy, there was nothing else.
Sometimes, she also needed to change her dependency on Aiden Shaw as a woman.
Sitting there in a daze for a while, Tiana Thorne felt lost, muttering quietly, "That old fourth Aiden, I’ve been proactive to this extent, and still no reply."
She’s already planning how to get even when he returns.
It was already nighttime, and the street lights outside were lit.
Downstairs, people were coming and going.
She and Aiden Shaw had been separated for a day and night, Jesse Rivers said he would return in a few days, perhaps tomorrow.
"Miss Thorne, it’s time for you to pay the fees now."
A nurse suddenly knocked on the door, reminding her.
Tiana Thorne turned upon hearing, "Okay, then nurse, please take care of my father."
"No problem, just go ahead."
As she spoke, the nurse tidied Seth Thorne’s bed sheet, appearing to be a gentle girl.
Tiana Thorne walked out of the hospital room.
She was the only one taking care of Seth Thorne in the hospital; she had agreed with Georgia Thorne that they would take turns caring for their father, alternating days. To ensure she could rest well, she let Georgia return home and come back tomorrow.
But she thought, wasn’t Georgia supposed to have paid the fees already?
Could it be they were underpaid?
Tiana Thorne hurriedly went to pay the fees.
There was still a line at the payment counter, but upon reaching it, she realized she hadn’t brought her wallet or even her phone, which was inside her bag.
So careless.
She quickly took the elevator back to get her bag.
As she stepped out of the elevator, Tiana Thorne looked up and saw Linden Hawthorne.
He was accompanied by several people, his entourage, heading toward her father’s hospital room.
Wasn’t he supposed to go back and rest?
Why did he come to the hospital again?
Recalling his exhausted-looking face with lips pale and devoid of color, that noble and handsome face always seemed a pity.
She didn’t want him to suffer.
Tiana Thorne was about to call him, but Professor Linton suddenly emerged, patting Linden Hawthorne’s shoulder: "Are you ready?"
"Yes." Linden Hawthorne nodded, "Poppy shouldn’t be here, right?"
"I had the nurse send her away, informed at the payment station." Professor Linton said.
"That’s good."
They already intended to avoid her.
Tiana Thorne swallowed her words back, feeling a sudden tightness in her heart, unsure of what they were concealing from her.
Linden Hawthorne seemed still uneasy, glancing around.
Tiana Thorne retreated, hiding in the corner, until they left.
Everything returned to calm, except for Tiana Thorne’s anxious heart.
With an expressionless face, she walked to her father’s hospital room door, while the nurse she had spoken to previously got up politely.
Linden Hawthorne stood at the bedside, gazing at the unconscious yet rosy-complexioned Seth Thorne, his brows slightly relaxed.
Taking the sterilized surgical knife handed by Professor Linton, he made a cut on his wrist...
