Chapter 1132: Chapter 1124: The Real Culprit Emerges 9

Sometimes he would have the illusion that maybe he wasn’t obedient enough to be loved.

He never thought of himself as a fool, nor could he understand why others treated him like a madman.

He always believed he was a child who could play with other kids, yet they saw him as a monster, only bullying him.

Later, he became self-deprecating, afraid of strangers, and would bow his head upon seeing people.

His father fell off a cliff and died while gathering herbs to support the family, and he was labeled as a curse. Not only did the villagers call him that, but wherever he went, he was seen as a curse.

He cursed his father to death, and would curse his mother to death too.

Yet he loved them so much.

This is all Tiana Thorne could see; Alex’s life was shrouded in darkness, yet he still loved his family.

In his perception, there was no right or wrong, good or evil, but his heart remained devoted to his family.

He felt guilty about his father’s death.

His mother’s illness made him even more guilty, believing himself unlucky.

He felt even more sorrow for his now only remaining kin.

But he didn’t know he wasn’t at fault, these wrong choices were given to him by his family.

Jesse Rivers never expected such a tragic event to occur; he always thought bad people were simply bad people, but some ignorance might become a weapon in others’ hands.

"This widow is going to die; whether this is good or bad, who knows." Jesse felt a touch of emotion.

If not understanding their past, not knowing the terrible things they’ve done, one might be moved by such a scene.

Even doctors and nurses couldn’t help but sigh.

"Pitiful people must have detestable aspects; she deserves her fate."

Indeed, pitiful people must have detestable aspects.

Jesse Rivers stared at Tiana Thorne, as if she didn’t need his concern.

The young lady always has her ways.

Giving them time to maintain their mother-son bond was Tiana’s only act of mercy.

This mercy wasn’t for the widow, it was for Alex.

She walked inside; the widow seemed calm, perhaps knowing her end was near and having nothing to fear.

She glanced at Tiana, very composed, facing death with calmness, without taking responsibility for others.

Tiana spoke, "Only now willing to give your foolish son a look, what’s the point? If you so despise him, why did you give birth to him?"

Hearing this, the widow lingered in looking at Alex, then said, "Alex, go buy me some fruit, I suddenly want to eat fruit."

Usually, the widow was too harsh on Alex, now suddenly gentle, something Alex hadn’t seen before; he nodded seriously with a smile, "Okay, Mom, Alex will go buy it right away."

Without any caution, he lowered his head and ran out.

Seizing the moment, Tiana sat on a chair next to her, coldly staring at the pale-faced widow.

"Why, don’t you want Alex to hear how cruel you are to him? Are you nervous too?"

The widow’s face turned ghastly pale.

"A fool brings shame to you, to your whole family, but in the end isn’t it him who you need to see you off?" Tiana pressed on without mercy, her words lightly spoken but piercing the widow’s heart.

The widow’s expression changed: "What do you understand, you little girl who hasn’t had children, what do you understand; this is our family’s business, what’s it have to do with you? Alex is my son, whether I gave birth to him or how I treat him, is not for you to worry about!"

Tiana chuckled, intriguingly: "Could it be you haven’t done anything wrong in this life, haven’t done anything you regret?"
