Chapter 867: Chapter 861: Fourth Master’s Proposal 3
The autumn night carried a faint chill.
Suddenly, a gust of wind blew past, and Tiana Thorne shivered from the cold.
She pulled back her gaze that had been following May Sloane’s departing figure, turned around, and looked at him with a bit of blame in her eyes. "Since when did you like wandering around aimlessly on a freezing cold night?"
Aiden Shaw took off his light brown trench coat and, like a perfect gentleman, draped it over her shoulders.
That unique scent belonging only to him lingered around her nose, a light, pleasant smell that, for some reason, made her feel at ease.
The tiny bit of annoyance that had just risen in her heart vanished completely. "Are you cold?"
"Not cold."
This trench coat was originally prepared for her anyway.
Tiana had just lifted her foot to take a step when he caught her hand, then moved in front of her, turned his back to her, and slowly squatted down.
Tiana was stunned for a moment before she realized he wanted to carry her on his back for the last stretch of the road back to the villa.
His fox-like eyes mirrored the stars scattered across the night sky, colors shimmering within them. Her red lips curved lightly, and she jumped onto his back.
Aiden Shaw hoisted her up onto his back.
Pressed against his back, she was surrounded by warmth, and suddenly, the autumn night didn’t feel that cold anymore.
Looking at the road ahead, Tiana’s lips curved into a smile, her voice tinged with a playful, sultry note. "Aiden, am I heavy?"
He shook his head. "Not heavy."
To him, she was very light, the kind of weight he could lift with one hand.
Aiden Shaw walked at an unhurried pace, and the moonlight stretched their shadows long.
She wrapped her arms around his neck, resting her head on his shoulder. Looking at their snuggled-up silhouettes, an indescribable sense of calm quietly settled in her heart.
It felt like in some previous life, she had also jumped onto her savior’s shoulders, and the shadow cast in the moonlight had stayed with her for many years.
"Sixteen."
Tiana basked in this feeling, her voice softening a few degrees. "Mm?"
"Do you like it when I carry you?"
Tiana lifted her head to look at him, but she could only see his handsome profile. His eyelashes were long, casting a row of light and shadow; his nose bridge was tall and straight, making his side profile strikingly good-looking.
And then there were those thin lips, impossible to describe, yet enough to hook someone’s soul.
When he didn’t hear her answer, he suddenly spoke again. "Sixteen?"
Tiana quickly withdrew her gaze. This probably wasn’t the first time she’d been openly drooling over his looks. She licked the corner of her lips, as if she hadn’t expected him to ask something like that.
But she didn’t hold back either. She nodded and rubbed her chin lightly against his shoulder. "Mm, I like it."
Her voice was soft and cottony, like she was acting spoiled.
Aiden Shaw’s sexy Adam’s apple bobbed once. Staring at the road ahead, he narrowed his eyes slightly, the slits long and narrow, his dark-brown pupils shifting just a bit. "Compared to my big brother?"
Tiana blurted out without thinking, "I like both."
After she said it, she froze.
Big brother...???
How did Aiden know that big brother had carried her too?
She looked at him suspiciously. "How do you know big brother carried me too?"
"And carried you for quite a long way."
Hearing that, Tiana felt a bit shaken inside. Could it be that, back then, he’d been not far away, watching?
"That night before I went back to the old house, you followed me?"
Aiden Shaw said, "Coincidence."
That really was some coincidence.
And it was precisely that one coincidence that stirred up the possessiveness in his heart, which was why he went back to the old house the very next day.
Tiana, being as smart as she was, figured out the trick of it in a flash. She licked her little tiger teeth, a roguish smile tugging at her lips. "So big brother pushed you into confessing to me, didn’t he?"
He nodded and reminded her, "Answer the question I just asked you."
