Chapter 913: Chapter 907: Linden Again 2

He kept feeling that he’d seen that face somewhere before.

But for the moment he just couldn’t place it.

The woman’s wailing pulled his thoughts back, and he stopped thinking about it.

Felix Grant came over carrying the medical kit and opened it for her.

Tiana Thorne quickly stopped the bleeding for her. The dislocated bone was something she couldn’t handle here, so she could only comfort her: "The bleeding’s stopped. Try to bear with the pain, once you get to the hospital you’ll be fine."

The woman nodded.

Only then did Felix Grant help her to her feet.

Tiana Thorne sat down in the wheelchair and looked over at Linden Hawthorne.

The river wind was getting stronger. Linden Hawthorne knitted his long brows, then slipped off his coat and draped it over the woman, before straightening up again.

Only then did he look at Tiana Thorne: "Thank you."

"I’m a doctor. Saving lives is instinctive for me. She should be okay now."

Linden Hawthorne nodded. "Mm."

Tiana Thorne was thinking that, actually, the status between her and him right now was rather awkward, because their engagement still hadn’t been dissolved.

Just then, the sound of an ambulance siren rang out.

Tiana Thorne’s heart settled a little. She pulled her thoughts back and said quietly, "Felix Grant, let’s get in the car."

"Yes."

Linden Hawthorne called out to her: "Would it be convenient to leave a contact number?"

Tiana Thorne turned back to look at him, the corners of her lips lifting in a smile that revealed two small canine teeth. Her voice was clear: "You helped me once before, and now I’ve helped you once. We’re even, so there’s no need to leave any contact info."

In the future, they would see each other again.

It was the first time in his life he’d asked a girl for her contact and gotten turned down.

He nodded, feeling oddly relieved inside. "Okay."

Not long after Tiana Thorne got in the car, Linden Hawthorne and the injured woman also boarded the ambulance.

The road cleared, and Felix Grant started the engine, driving off slowly.

Linden Hawthorne sat beside the injured woman, but what replayed in his mind was the scene from just now.

At that moment, the doctor came over to close the doors.

Out of the corner of his eye, he caught sight of a black car, and saw the person sitting in the back seat—it was the girl who’d just helped him.

In a blink, the car pulled away and vanished from sight.

Linden Hawthorne furrowed his brow, once again recalling some of the details from earlier, his eyes filled with confusion.

Felix Grant.

The name was far too familiar.

Not just the name—even his face looked like something he’d seen somewhere before.

He moved his lips, murmuring, "Felix Grant, Felix Grant."

Just then, a notification popped up from the trending news he followed.

"Contemporary painter Mr. Castle is actually the Ford family’s third young master, older brother of the popular young actress Tiana Thorne."

His fingers twitched and he tapped open the article.

A photo filled his screen.

Tiana Thorne was sitting in a wheelchair, carrying a lazy sort of air. Even in an amateur’s lens, it couldn’t mask the beauty that seemed etched into her bones.

Standing beside her were Aiden Shaw and Vincent Ford.

Just the name Tiana Thorne made his heart give a jolt, and when his gaze fell on Maxim Ford, who was standing not far off holding the painting, the tip of his heart trembled.

He instinctively lifted his head, looking for the car Felix Grant had driven away.

Only then did he remember he was in the rear cabin of an ambulance, with no windows.

He lowered his head, forcing down the surging emotions inside, yet his heart was in unprecedented chaos.

No wonder Felix Grant had felt so familiar.

Because he was Maxim’s special assistant—someone he’d seen before.

For someone to be treated with that kind of respect by him, and addressed as "Miss," it was impossible for her to be Maxim’s girlfriend. She could only be Tiana Thorne.

Twice in one day he’d run into her, and twice they’d missed each other.

His fingers curled tight, the gentle gaze in his eyes stained with a few dark undercurrents.

Thinking back to some of those details just now, his eyes softened to the extreme.
