Chapter 993: Chapter 985: Seeking the Truth 2

The depths of her eyes were as clear as a small stream, shimmering as she softly asked, "Brother, aren’t you coming home with us?"

Maxim Ford looked at her obedient demeanor, feeling a dull pain in his heart.

If Tiana knew that it was her own hand that hurt Julian, how could she bear it?

"I still have to go to the company, so I won’t be going back with you all."

She smiled lightly, "Okay, thank you for tonight, Brother."

He shook his head, feeling as if something was choking his throat, making breathing difficult, yet affectionately uttered three words.

"Silly girl."

Tiana Thorne blinked at him, then turned around and left with Aiden Shaw.

They took the elevator down and got into the car.

She leaned back on the passenger seat, speaking softly, "Actually, sleepwalking isn’t that serious. There’s no need for you and our older brother to make such a fuss, rushing to take me to the hospital in the middle of the night."

Aiden Shaw felt a bit confused inside.

He really wanted to check on his second brother’s condition, yet didn’t want her to know the truth.

For a moment, he zoned out, not speaking.

Tiana Thorne glanced back at him, calling softly, "Fourth brother?"

Aiden Shaw snapped out of it, "Let’s go."

She gently asked, "Did you not hear what I just said?"

"No."

Tiana patiently repeated, "I said, you and our older brother didn’t need to rush over in the dead of night. Sleepwalking isn’t that scary of an illness; there’s no need to worry like that."

Aiden Shaw replied, "It’s always good to check."

She smiled lightly, feeling a warmth in her heart.

Halfway along the route, she suddenly remembered, "By the way, has second brother returned from his business trip?"

Aiden Shaw lied, his voice calm, without a hint of flaw, "Not yet, it might take a while before he’s back."

"Before he left, he said he would take me to visit his alma mater when he returned."

Aiden Shaw replied, "He’ll be back soon."

Tiana Thorne leaned against the leather seat, not knowing why, she felt he was somewhat unsettled tonight.

Her eyelids fluttered, and she had a vague sense of foreboding, but then it vanished.

Hospital.

As Tiana Thorne entered the elevator, Maxim Ford almost turned and ran, pressing the elevator button on the other side of the hospital.

Every minute of waiting was a torment inside him.

The elevator opened, and he rushed in without waiting for others to exit.

He bumped into a young man, who cursed discontentedly, "Can’t you see?"

Maxim Ford seemed not to hear, pressing the button for the emergency room floor, his hands clenching into fists.

Not hearing an apology, the young man turned back to look at him, noticing his whole body trembling slightly, his handsome face paled with fear. The reproachful words on his lips couldn’t find their way out.

Probably something happened to his family.

Those who come to the hospital are all unfortunate souls.

Maxim Ford had restrained himself for too long, fearing Tiana would blame herself if she knew, especially with Julian still critically ill.

She didn’t mean to hurt Julian, he didn’t blame her.

Just wished the family could get through this crisis together.

At this moment, the elevator doors opened.

He sprinted out, walking quickly over to see several brothers standing at the emergency room door, looking worried.

Seeing him approach, their eyes all sparkled, "Big brother."

He glanced at the still-lit surgical room, striding toward them, "How is your second brother?"

Sebastian Ford furrowed his brows, "Still hasn’t come out."

Vincent Ford asked, "Big brother, did you find Tiana?"

"Yes, found her."

Isaac Ford’s breath hitched, asking, "Was it her?"

Maxim Ford fell silent again, this question pained him, but the answer was even more painful.

Sebastian Ford, "Big brother..."

He had also guessed the outcome, watching the surveillance video several times, it was indeed Tiana.

Preston Quinn clenched his fists, "Where is she?"

"I had the fourth brother send her back to the Ford family."

Preston Quinn almost blurted out, eyes cold and voice mixed with thin anger, "Why take her back?"

Hearing this, Maxim Ford looked at him, his gaze becoming serious, "Calm down, Tiana hurt Julian while sleepwalking. From now on, no matter who it is, don’t mention this matter in front of her."

Preston Quinn snorted coldly, heart aching terribly.

He watched these kids grow up.

He had never married or had children, putting all his thoughts on the children, not his own but treating them as if they were.

Now, with the child getting such severe injury, hovering between life and death, how could he stay calm in his heart?

He questioned coldly, "Even if it was sleepwalking, that’s still her second brother, who dotes on her so. Why would she strike hard?"

Madam Jennings, considered an elder in the family, remained silent, feeling somewhat resentful towards Tiana Thorne.

On ordinary days, she would stop Preston Quinn when he spoke harshly, but now, she had nothing to say.

"Uncle Quinn, be rational."

Preston Quinn slammed his fist into the wall, letting out an angry shout, "How can I be rational? The master and mistress just left home not long ago, and the second young master has encountered such a big incident. The issue is, the culprit is still kept in the dark. She has the right to know the crime she committed."

Sebastian Ford, seeing this, felt a mixture of emotions, "Sleepwalkers have no consciousness while sleepwalking. She didn’t know it was her second brother."

Vincent Ford felt heavy-hearted, the siblings had always shared a good relationship, and such a thing happening suddenly was hard to bear. He tried to reassure him, "Uncle Quinn, I know you’re worried about the second brother, but Tiana really didn’t mean it."

"Now that it’s come to this, the second young master is in there, and she’s peacefully asleep at home. What is this supposed to mean?"

Isaac Ford, with hawk-like eyes, looked at him, "Enough, Uncle Quinn, we are all worried about the second brother, but having the sister here won’t help. Could you say a little less?"

Preston Quinn also realized he’d gotten too emotional.

The young lady really wasn’t at fault; it’s just that he still felt unsettled inside.

At this moment, Theo Ford arrived, like Maxim Ford, first glancing at the surgical room door, then looking at the other brothers.

Lastly, looking at Uncle Quinn and Madam Jennings whose eyes were already moist.

"Second brother, he will be alright?"

This question had a reassuring tone, as if to comfort himself, also as if to comfort the brothers present.

Maxim Ford reached out, patting his shoulder gently, "Your second brother will be fine."

Though saying so, everyone remained tense and worried.

Isaac Ford, always quiet, was even more silent now, crouched in the corner, staring at the surgical room door.

Sebastian Ford paced at the surgical room door, thinking of their parents.

He said softly, "Let’s not let mom and dad know about this yet, especially mom, her heart is weak, she can’t take the shock."

Everyone nodded in agreement.

At this moment, the surgical room door opened.
