Douluo Dalu 4: Ultimate Fighting
Chapter 1204: The Dragon Knights’ Success?
The blood seeped into the ground faster and faster. The Rising Dragon Platform’s trembling maintained a single frequency and didn’t increase further.
The Dragon Knights weren’t impatient. That day, Lan had lost more than half his own blood. But for them—true Super God-level Dragon Clan members—the sheer volume of their blood was far beyond what Lan could compare to. Although blood loss would consume their power, and the consumption could even touch their essence, requiring a long time to recover, as long as they could obtain that seven-colored energy, what did such a little consumption matter?
Gradually, more and more blood flowed out. The Rising Dragon Platform was like a greedy maw, endlessly devouring and absorbing the blood. Yet it only kept trembling, with no other changes.
The Dragon Knights’ expressions gradually began to turn ugly. Although they had plenty of blood, letting it flow like this wasn’t a solution! The key was—there was no feedback at all!
Just as their moods began to shift, a strange scene suddenly appeared. Beneath their feet—first beneath the Celestial Dragon Head’s feet—a faint layer of colored halo spread out from the ground, thread by thread, like smoke, quietly seeping out.
At the sight of this colored halo, all the Dragon Knights’ eyes lit up at once. It’s here—it’s finally here! Their efforts hadn’t been in vain!
For a time, the Dragon Knights were greatly invigorated and unhesitatingly increased their blood flow rates again.
The most excited was naturally the Celestial Dragon Head. He hastily guided that colored halo into his body. The halo seemed to be composed of red, blue, cyan, and yellow. Once the energy entered his body, he immediately felt his whole body clear up, as if he’d been reborn. This was clearly a bloodline fluctuation at a level higher than his own bloodline!
Excellent, it’s here! The Celestial Dragon Head’s earlier hesitation vanished at once, and his own blood flowed down faster. Beneath his feet, the hazy mist formed by the four-colored halo continued to steadily emerge, absorbed by him.
Seeing the Celestial Dragon Head increase his blood flow rate, how could the other Dragon Knights not understand that he’d gained benefits from it? One after another, they desperately released their own blood.
Soon, beneath the feet of the second-in-command, the Dawn Dragon Knight Zhong Zhichang, faint four-colored halos also began to flow out. Hazy mist spread forth—though not strong, it had indeed appeared.
Zhong Zhichang was overjoyed. He hastily absorbed these four-colored halos, merging them into his bloodline. As expected, this four-colored halo, drawn forth by his own bloodline, had no rejection toward him—it was naturally absorbed by him. That feeling of bloodline cleansing immediately filled him with delight, and his whole being was in a state of excitement. That was the feeling of bloodline sublimation too!
Gradually, according to their differing cultivations, hazy four-colored halos began to appear beneath each of the Dragon Knights. These smoke-like halos merged into their bodies. As their blood dripped down, they were absorbed by them.
Who knew how much time passed before a dizzy spell suddenly appeared in the Celestial Dragon Head’s mind. He instinctively came to, awakening from that comfortable sensation. Looking inward, he found it was an adverse reaction caused by excessive blood loss. He hastily stopped the blood flow and circulated his bloodline to regenerate blood.
The energy contained in his original blood had been accumulated over years of cultivation. Although regenerating blood could be completed in a very short time, replenishing the energy would require considerable time to recover his vitality.
Still, the Celestial Dragon Head was very excited. The energy in the blood could be cultivated back, but raising the level of his bloodline was something he hadn’t managed in a thousand years!
As his blood flow ended, the four-colored hazy halos no longer emerged from the ground. The Celestial Dragon Head sat down where he was, silently sensing the changes in his body while concentrating on cultivation to recover his vitality.
He truly deserved to be the strongest among all the Dragon Knights. Before him, the other Dragon Knights had long since stopped their blood flow and were each cultivating in place.
Their blood loss this time had been enormous, not something that could be recovered overnight. But they had all absorbed that four-colored energy. They couldn’t yet determine to what degree that four-colored energy could evolve their bloodlines, but at least the attempt could be considered a preliminary success.
After slightly recovering their vitality, the Dragon Knights rose one by one and returned to the Dragon Realm through the Rising Dragon Platform. The Dragon Realm was rich in dragon energy—most suitable for recovering their vitality.
Lan Xuanyu didn’t know what changes had occurred in the Dragon Knights’ cultivation on the Rising Dragon Platform.
After announcing that he would enter seclusion to heal, Lan Xuanyu ordered his servant—who had already risen to the Intermediate Dragon rank—to guard the door and let no one enter. He himself quietly teleported away with Bai Xiuxiu, returning to the forest.
All his companions had long been waiting here. Seeing their arrival, everyone’s expressions couldn’t help but turn excited.
Dozens of plant-type bigwigs were the same. Seeing Lan Xuanyu, they all respectfully bowed and gave a deep salute.
Though it had only been a few short months, in those months everyone had undergone earth-shaking changes. When Lan Xuanyu saw the many plant-type bigwigs, he was also startled.
Compared to when they’d arrived, not only were they all full of vigor, but the life energy fluctuations radiating from their entire bodies could only be described as overflowing. It was truly that mouth-watering sense of overflow! How much life energy had they absorbed to reach such a change?
Elder Shu’s own changes were also enormous. When that towering tree turned back into human form, Lan Xuanyu clearly felt that Elder Shu seemed to have become much younger. Unlike his former decrepit, wizened appearance, although he still looked like an old man, there was now a sense of youthful face with white hair—the wrinkles on his skin had decreased considerably.
“Hahaha!” Looking at Lan Xuanyu and the others, Elder Shu couldn’t help but laugh. “I originally thought I didn’t have many years left to live—that after helping you into the saddle and seeing you off, I could end my mission. But now it seems I won’t be dying anytime soon after all!”
At these words, everyone around couldn’t help but laugh.
The spirits of all the Thirty-Three Sky Wings members were also vastly different. Though they didn’t have the abundant Dragon Force Tempering that Lan Xuanyu and Bai Xiuxiu had, their improvements were equally enormous. Grateful for the benefits Lan Xuanyu had brought the plant-type soul beasts, these plant-type soul beasts were unstinting in their feedback. The fruits they produced were the Thirty-Three Sky Wings members’ daily supplements—and these were fruits from plant-type soul beasts of over a hundred thousand years! If placed on Douluo Continent, this would be an unimaginable luxury. But here, even if they couldn’t eat them every day, every few days they could eat something compatible with their own attributes. Their cultivation speed could only be described as advancing a thousand li a day.
Now that they were talking about leaving, everyone really was a little reluctant.
But this time they still had to take everyone away—for safety’s sake. With Lan Xuanyu gone, if anyone remaining were discovered missing and suspicion arose, or if any one of them were found—a human on Celestial Dragon Planet—it would inevitably cause great trouble and irreparable consequences.
Besides, they’d been out so long—it was time to go back and relax. So after thinking it over, Lan Xuanyu decided to bring everyone back together. Not just back to the fleet, but back to Shrek Academy to rest and regroup before returning again.
With this accumulation, after returning to the academy and receiving their teachers’ guidance, their companions’ strength would surely advance by leaps and bounds.
