After disembarking from the merchant vessel, Sona said to Ye Wushuang, "Young Master Ye, this is Wutang City. Our ship needs to conduct some business here. Why don’t you wait on board? We’ll head to Flame City as soon as we’re finished!"

Ye Wushuang gave a faint smile. "Miss Sona, you all go on about your business. Let’s part ways here."

"Young Master Ye, why don’t you come with us? It won’t take long, and then I can show you around Flame City!"

Seeing that Ye Wushuang was about to leave, Sona quickly tried to persuade him to stay, not wanting him to go.

"There’s no need. If fate allows, Miss Sona and I will meet again."

Ye Wushuang smiled. ’Since I’m out, I might as well take a look around.’

"Hmph. It would be best if we never meet again," Byron sneered from the side, adding inwardly, ’Otherwise, I’ll make sure there’s nothing left of you to bury!’

Seeing that Ye Wushuang’s mind was made up and he couldn’t be persuaded to stay, Sona looked quite dejected.

"Since your mind is made up, Young Master Ye, I won’t try to keep you. I only hope that if you come to Flame City in the future, you’ll visit the Tri-Element Guild. There’s something I want to tell you."

As Sona spoke, she handed Ye Wushuang an earthen-colored Token engraved with three flames!

The people standing nearby were shocked when they saw the Token!

"That’s a Tri-Element Order! Only the most honored guests of the Tri-Element Guild receive one. Miss Sona gave it to Young Master Ye... Could it be that she..."

The onlookers gave Sona teasing glances.

Ye Wushuang didn’t know what the Token represented, but since she was offering it, he didn’t refuse and put it away.

He then cupped his fist in a salute before turning to leave.

Staring at Ye Wushuang’s departing figure, Sona opened her mouth as if to say something, but no words came out. She could only watch as his silhouette vanished from sight.

"Let’s go, too."

After a long moment, Sona finally turned and led the others away. She had a feeling she would meet Ye Wushuang again. When that time came, she would tell him what was truly in her heart.

’Bitch,’ Byron cursed under his breath, his eyes filled with venom. ’What’s so great about that kid? She’s barely known him for any time at all and he’s already stolen her heart. How pathetic. I’ll make you regret this.’ He snorted and followed along.

Meanwhile, Ye Wushuang was walking down the street, observing the pedestrians.

To his surprise, the Cultivation of a random passerby was around the Yin Yang Realm. Cultivators at the Yun Dao Level were a common sight, and he even spotted a few Pseudo-Saints walking about.

’Back in the Grand Emperor Domain, people like these would be considered powerhouses presiding over Major Influences!’ Ye Wushuang lamented.

Still, he wasn’t surprised. The Grand Emperor Domain had been suppressed by the Celestial Dao for so long, and it had also suffered a ruthless, world-ending calamity, causing its path of cultivation to fall behind.

In the Profound Sun Domain, however, the Great Dao wasn’t suppressed. Cultivation was therefore easier, and there were naturally more experts.

’First, I’ll find a place to stay. Then, I need to figure out how to refine the Holy Pill.’

Ye Wushuang thought to himself. Refining the Holy Pill was his top priority.

To heal the damage to his Origin, he needed to refine a Nine Spirit Heavenly Essence Pill. This was a Holy Pill, and its recipe required the Saint Level ingredients Star Flower, Nine Spirits Sacred Fruit, and Celestial Essence Emperor Heart Grass. In addition to these, it also required 365 other medicinal herbs!

At present, besides the still-maturing Star Flower, he had only managed to gather about a hundred of the other 365 required herbs.

The problems he now faced were finding a place to stay and, more importantly, locating the other ingredients—especially the two Supreme Holy Medicines.

’I wonder if I’ll be able to find them all here in Wutang City?’

As he continued on his way, Ye Wushuang witnessed many strange and curious sights.

The most common sights on either side of the street were apothecaries and Pill Shops.

And what was most peculiar was that he discovered nearly every pedestrian, to some degree, held a flame within their body.

This was a unique sensation he could perceive thanks to his cultivation of the Ultimate Yang Technique. There was no mistaking it!

"Kid, did you notice?" the Dragon Cat asked, landing on his shoulder.

Ye Wushuang nodded. Of course he knew what the Dragon Cat was asking about.

"This place is the Profound Sun Domain," the Dragon Cat said. "It’s a peculiar realm. In the Nine Heavens Domain, it’s known as the Realm of Exotic Fire, and also the Realm of Elixirs."

"Exotic Fire?" It was the first time Ye Wushuang had heard the term, and he found it intriguing.

"Exotic Fires are special flames born from the heavens and the earth. The Ultimate Yang True Fire, the Purple Emperor’s Heaven-Burning Flame, and the Purgatory Demon Fire you possess are all types of Exotic Fire!"

"There are many kinds of Exotic Fire in the Profound Sun Domain. There are common Spirit Fires, powerful Celestial Fires, and even Holy Fires that contain the Rules of the Great Dao. Cultivators here seek out Exotic Fires and fuse them with their bodies. Besides using them to grow stronger through Cultivation, their main purpose is to become an Alchemy Master and refine Elixirs."

"That’s why this place has the most Exotic Fires and the most Alchemy Masters. It’s called the Realm of Exotic Fire and the Realm of Alchemy Masters for a reason."

...

Listening to the Dragon Cat’s explanation, Ye Wushuang’s interest was piqued. It all felt very new and fascinating.

Exotic Fire!

Alchemy Masters!

With a focused gaze, he continued walking forward. He figured he would soon experience these things for himself.

"Young Master Fang, please, save my son’s life! I’m begging you!"

Up ahead, in front of an apothecary, a middle-aged man was being dragged out while clinging to the leg of a short-haired youth.

"Get off me, you lowlife!"

The short-haired youth’s expression turned ugly as he kicked the man away. The force of the blow sent the middle-aged man flying, causing him to cough up blood as he crashed against the apothecary’s threshold.

"Father!"

A pale-faced boy emerged from the apothecary, coughing as he rushed forward anxiously. He staggered so badly it looked as though a strong gust of wind could knock him over.

But the burly, middle-aged man was relentless. He scrambled back to the short-haired youth’s feet and clung on for dear life.

"Isn’t that Gao Yang’s father?"

A crowd began to gather, and many people recognized the middle-aged man.

This father and son were well-known in Wutang City for one reason: Gao Yang was chronically ill, afflicted with a peculiar form of consumption.

Of course, this illness wasn’t some incurable malady. In fact, it could be cured with a single Fourth-Grade Treasure Pill.

However, a Fourth-Grade Treasure Pill was worth millions of Spirit Stones. As people from the lowest rungs of society, they couldn’t possibly afford it. Furthermore, no one was willing to waste an Elixir on a "lowlife," so his condition had gone untreated for ten years.

A decade was more than enough time for everyone to remember their faces.

"Get lost, you lowlife! If you don’t scram right now, I’ll kill you!"

Seeing Gao Yang’s father clinging to him relentlessly, Fang Xing’s expression darkened, and a murderous glint flashed in his eyes.

"Young Master Fang, please save my son! He only has half a month left to live! I’m begging you, please..."

Gao Yang’s father clung to Fang Xing’s leg with one hand while desperately kowtowing, thudding his head against the ground. His forehead was soon a bloody mess, with streams of blood flowing down his cheeks.

The crowd sighed but said nothing. Fang Xing was an Alchemy Master capable of refining Fourth-Grade Elixirs, but why would he ever waste one to save Gao Yang?

He would rather let the Elixir rot than give it away. After all, he had no connection to them whatsoever.

"He’s just making a scene. No wonder no one’s willing to help him. People like that deserve to die!"

"Exactly. Just a lowlife. It’d be better for everyone if he just died. They’re an eyesore for Wutang City. What rotten luck to run into these two again."

...

Many in the crowd looked at Gao Yang and his father with disgust.

"Gao Fu, get the fuck away from me! Your son’s life is worthless! If he’s going to die, tell him to do it somewhere far away!"

Fang Xing’s face was grim as he stomped his foot repeatedly on Gao Fu’s back. Gao Fu’s body trembled, and he spat out mouthful after mouthful of blood.

"Fang Xing, stop! COUGH, COUGH... Stop it! We don’t want the Elixir anymore!"

Gao Yang’s coughing fit worsened until he could barely breathe. He threw himself over Gao Fu’s body.

’How annoying,’ Fang Xing thought. Seeing Gao Yang lunge toward him, he kicked Gao Fu’s body away and shot the pair a look of utter disgust. "Me, give you an Elixir? Dream on! I’d feed it to a dog before I gave it to you!"

With that cold remark, he turned to leave.

"Fang Xing, you went back on your word! We gave you the Top-Grade Treasure Medicine! Why won’t you give us the Elixir? You cheated us! You cheated us!"

Behind him, Gao Fu roared, his face contorted with crazed fury.

The father and son had braved life and death, going through countless hardships to find a single Top-Grade Treasure Medicine, all to trade it for a Fourth-Grade Elixir. But now Fang Xing had the Treasure Medicine, and he refused to give them the Elixir.

How could Gao Fu let this go? If Gao Yang didn’t get treatment now, he would die. How could he not be driven mad with desperation?

The crowd was stunned. They all stared at Fang Xing, a sudden understanding dawning on them.

"Damn you, lowlife! You deserve to die! You deserve to die!"

Seeing that Gao Fu had exposed him, Fang Xing’s killing intent flared. He spun around and stalked back toward Gao Fu, determined to kill the father and son!
