Chapter 1257: Chapter 1257:- Casualties Numbers

Meanwhile, at the Anti-Emperor Faction’s main camp, Boris was sitting inside a large tent while closely watching the situation on the battlefield. Several high-ranking military officers were also present inside the tent, helping him keep track of the ongoing battle.

In front of Boris was a special artifact that was projecting a large image of the battlefield from above, allowing him to observe the movements of both armies without personally going to the front lines.

The artifact was extremely useful because it allowed Boris to see the positions of large groups of soldiers, their formations, and the areas where the fighting was most intense. The image was being shown from a height of around three hundred meters above the ground, giving him a much better view of the battlefield than someone standing on the ground would have.

However, the battlefield was simply too massive for the artifact to display everything at once. Even from a height of three hundred meters, it was impossible to properly observe every single part of the Northern Grassy Plains.

If Boris wanted to examine one particular area more closely, he would have to shift the artifact’s view toward that location, which meant he could no longer observe what was happening elsewhere.

For this reason, Boris could not depend entirely on the artifact. He also had to rely on the scouts who were constantly gathering information from different parts of the battlefield.

Every five to ten minutes, a scout would enter the tent and provide an updated report about the situation, including the estimated number of soldiers killed, the number of injured soldiers, the positions of the different divisions, and whether any part of their defensive line was in danger.

Boris carefully listened to every report while continuing to watch the battlefield through the artifact. Whenever he noticed something unusual, he would immediately ask one of the officers to send instructions to the commanders responsible for that area.

Although Athena had been doing an excellent job commanding a large section of the army, Boris was still responsible for overseeing the overall situation and making sure that the different divisions continued working together.

However, while Boris was watching the battlefield, he suddenly noticed something that made his eyes widen in surprise. A familiar figure had appeared high above the Emperor Faction’s army, and enormous explosions of crimson flames were occurring one after another across the enemy’s backline.

The moment Boris recognised the figure responsible for those explosions, a wide smile appeared on his face.

"Hahahahahaha! He’s finally here!" Boris suddenly burst into loud laughter, causing several officers inside the tent to turn toward him.

The person responsible for those terrifying explosions was none other than Aditya, the Dragon Monarch.

Boris had always known that Aditya was extremely powerful. Even when he was only a Fifth Order cultivator, his fighting strength had already been far beyond what ordinary cultivators of the same Order could achieve. However, now that Aditya had finally reached the Beginner Sixth Order, his strength had increased to an entirely different level.

What made Aditya especially dangerous was that he was not someone who depended on only one fighting style. He was one of those extremely rare cultivators who could fight comfortably at both long and short distances. If his enemies were far away, he could use his Crimson Flames or Crimson Lightning to launch powerful attacks capable of destroying large groups of soldiers.

And if his enemies managed to approach him, that would not make the situation any better for them. With his powerful Dragon Physique, enormous physical strength, and terrifying speed, Aditya was just as dangerous in close combat. In fact, fighting him at close range could be even more dangerous because his enemies would have very little time to react to his attacks.

In Boris’s eyes, Aditya had almost no obvious weakness that his enemies could easily take advantage of.

And the moment Aditya began attacking the Emperor Faction’s army, the entire situation on the battlefield started changing.

Before his arrival, the Anti-Emperor Faction had already been performing quite well, especially in the areas where Athena had been directing the soldiers. However, the Emperor Faction still had an enormous number of troops, and their archers, mages, and artillery units were constantly attacking from the backline.

These support units were one of the biggest problems for the Anti-Emperor Faction. Even when their soldiers managed to gain an advantage at the front, the enemy’s mages and artillery operators could launch powerful attacks from a safe distance, forcing them to slow down or retreat.

However, Aditya was now directly targeting those support units.

Every compressed crimson flame bullet he fired caused an enormous explosion in the Emperor Faction’s backline. Large groups of archers were being destroyed before they could release their arrows, while powerful mages were being killed before they could finish preparing their spells. Even the large cannons and other artillery weapons were being destroyed one after another.

And the worst part for the Emperor Faction was that Aditya showed absolutely no intention of stopping. Within just six minutes of his arrival, Aditya had already killed close to one hundred thousand soldiers from the Emperor Faction.

Almost all of those casualties came from their backline, where their archers, mages, cannon operators, and other artillery soldiers had been stationed. These were the troops responsible for supporting the soldiers fighting at the front, and losing so many of them in such a short period was an enormous blow to the Emperor Faction.

When Boris received the latest report confirming the estimated number of casualties, the smile on his face became even wider.

"Almost one hundred thousand soldiers in six minutes. Hahaha! That brat really knows how to make an entrance!" Boris said while looking at Aditya’s figure through the artifact.

Meanwhile, the situation at the Anti-Emperor Faction’s own backline was completely different.

Riya was still busy treating the injured soldiers who were being brought back from the battlefield. With her powerful healing abilities, she was able to save many soldiers who would have otherwise died from their injuries. Although she could not personally treat every injured soldier, her presence greatly reduced the number of deaths among those who managed to reach the medical area.

At the same time, Sasha and Nathan were continuing to protect the Anti-Emperor Faction’s backline. Their main responsibility was to make sure that the archers, mages, and soldiers operating the artillery weapons could continue supporting the army without being interrupted.

Throughout the battle, the Emperor Faction had repeatedly sent powerful cultivators and small groups of soldiers to attack their backline. Some of these enemies had attempted to destroy their cannons, while others had tried to kill the mages and archers responsible for providing long-distance support.

There were even some who had attempted to create large-scale destruction by launching powerful attacks toward the areas where the Anti-Emperor Faction’s support troops were gathered.

However, Sasha and Nathan had successfully stopped every major attempt.

Because of their efforts, the Anti-Emperor Faction’s archers, mages, and artillery operators were still able to continue attacking the enemy without suffering any major disruption. This gave their soldiers fighting at the front an enormous advantage, especially now that the Emperor Faction was rapidly losing its own support units.

As the minutes passed, the difference between the two armies became increasingly clear.

The Anti-Emperor Faction was continuing to advance, while the Emperor Faction was being forced to retreat from several positions. Without enough archers, mages, and artillery support, their soldiers were finding it increasingly difficult to hold their defensive lines.

Furthermore, the enormous explosions caused by Aditya were also having a terrible effect on their morale. Many soldiers had already witnessed entire groups of their companions being destroyed by crimson flames, and the thought of becoming Aditya’s next target was making them increasingly frightened.

According to the latest reports, the Emperor Faction had already lost around one hundred and fifty thousand soldiers since the beginning of the battle. Out of those casualties, Aditya alone was responsible for almost one hundred thousand deaths within just six minutes of his arrival.

And judging from the explosions that were still occurring across the battlefield, he had absolutely no intention of slowing down anytime soon.

Boris continued watching the situation with a satisfied expression before suddenly remembering something important.

"Where are Lilith and Amelia?" Boris asked while turning toward one of the officers standing nearby.

"Sir, both Lady Lilith and Lady Amelia have safely returned to the camp. They are currently resting inside their tents. Our medics have already started treating their injuries and are working on removing the strange powders that entered their bloodstreams during their battle against the Puppet Master." The officer replied respectfully.

Hearing this, Boris nodded before asking another question.

"And what about Freya?"

"Lady Freya is also recovering, sir. She suffered several injuries during her earlier battle, but her condition is stable. She has already informed us that she intends to return to the battlefield as soon as she has recovered enough strength." The officer replied.

Boris was more than satisfied after hearing these reports. Lilith and Amelia were safe, Freya was recovering, and Aditya had finally arrived on the battlefield. Furthermore, Athena had also been rescued, while Sasha and Nathan were continuing to protect their support troops.

Everything was moving in the direction Boris had hoped for.

He slowly leaned back in his chair and looked at the projected image of the battlefield once again. With the Emperor Faction already suffering such enormous losses, Boris believed that winning the first battle was now only a matter of time.

And if the Anti-Emperor Faction managed to achieve an overwhelming victory in this first battle, it would place Emperor Ren in an extremely difficult position. Boris knew his grandson Ren very well. He understood that Ren was not someone who would calmly accept such a humiliating defeat, especially when his position as Emperor was being challenged.

Losing such a large number of soldiers in the very first battle would put enormous pressure on Ren. Not only would it weaken his army, but it would also damage the confidence of the soldiers and powerful factions supporting him.

Boris believed that such a defeat would eventually force Ren to abandon his cautious approach and launch an all-out assault in the second battle. And if that happened, the second battle would most likely become the final and deciding battle of the entire civil war.

Boris looked at Aditya, who was still firing compressed crimson flame bullets toward the Emperor Faction’s army, and a small smile appeared on his face. He could already imagine how furious Ren would become after learning just how badly his army had been defeated in the very first battle.
