Chapter 604: Chapter 366: The Scheming Round Table Knight and King Arthur’s Request to Hunt

Lin Qi wasn’t surprised in the slightest when he saw the message from Guang Ling.

The fact that Guang Ling had intercepted the intelligence wasn’t due to Xu Tianyun’s carelessness, nor was it a reflection on the Xu Family’s capabilities. Guang Ling’s Ability was simply too powerful.

Using his "Wizard" alias, Lin Qi exchanged a few words with Master Ma and King Arthur in a temporary Mercenary Corps chat window as he walked into his room.

Although their time to rest had been short, Liu Xuan was already prepared to move.

She wasn’t completely ignorant of the unfolding situation, having already learned through the Liu Clan’s intelligence channels that she was apparently being targeted.

The blue light in Liu Xuan’s left eye brightened slightly, but not by much.

"I’ll go with you. I’ll come back after I get you safely to the Remote Conference Mansion."

"Alright."

Lin Qi and Liu Xuan’s exchange was brief.

At the same time, upon hearing Lin Qi’s words, the blue glow from her prosthetic left eye instantly subsided, returning to its usual brightness.

She had absolute trust in Lin Qi.

Seeing the change in Liu Xuan, Lin Qi took a deep breath and held out his hand to her.

Liu Xuan froze for a second. The light in her prosthetic left eye flickered, and then a faint smile graced her lips. She stepped forward and took Lin Qi’s metal prosthetic hand.

The prosthetic hand had a simulated human temperature, even slightly warmer than her own fingertips.

Lin Qi took Liu Xuan’s hand and led her out of the room.

...

Inside the Xu Clan’s flying vehicle, Xu Tianyun sat in the front seat, his gaze occasionally drifting to the optical rearview mirror. He studied the two young people in the back, a look of regret sometimes flashing across his face.

’What a pity!’

’As Lin Changshou’s grandson, Lin Qi hadn’t inherited any of his grandfather’s true ways.’

’If Lin Qi were a bit more of a playboy, perhaps the Xu Family could have used certain... special methods to forge a closer bond with him.’

But based on his thorough observation, Xu Tianyun was utterly convinced that Lin Qi had gone astray!

’How could something like genuine love possibly exist in the Cyber World?’

Xu Tianyun rubbed his eyes, feeling as if he were looking at something truly extraordinary.

’Unheard of!’

’Simply unheard of!’

’It wasn’t just Lin Qi who’d gone astray; this young lady from Red Fruit City’s Liu Family hadn’t stayed on the proper path either!’

Xu Tianyun sighed imperceptibly.

The flying vehicle slowly lifted off. Counting the one carrying Lin Qi and Liu Xuan, a total of three vehicles were now ascending into the air.

They were flanked by a vehicle in front and another behind. The security personnel provided by the Xu Family and for Liu Xuan were in these two escort vehicles.

There were a full eight S-Class Implanters.

This level of security was already top-tier. A force on the level of an ordinary major corporation could never hope to possess such defensive capabilities.

"Lin Qi, you can rest easy. Leaving aside the secrecy of our mission, with a defensive force of this caliber, even a T0-level Mercenary Corps would have to seriously reconsider whether an attack is worth it."

"Those T0-level Mercenary Corps aren’t fools. The paltry sum offered as a bounty on the Black Market is hardly worth them taking such an enormous risk."

"Besides, the trip isn’t long. We’ll be there in under five minutes. That’s not enough time for them to organize a complex operation."

Xu Tianyun was completely at ease in the front seat.

Having navigated the political tides of the Eastern Alliance for so many years, and having dealt frequently with Mercenary Forces since his retirement from Nanyun Potion, Xu Tianyun was well-acquainted with the operational logic of top-tier Mercenary Corps.

As far as Xu Tianyun was concerned, with all the resources the Xu Family had invested, it was highly unlikely that anything would go wrong on this trip.

Lin Qi didn’t respond to Xu Tianyun immediately. He continued to hold Liu Xuan’s hand, using his Spiritual Vision to carefully survey their surroundings.

Within the scope of his Spiritual Vision, the first people Lin Qi spotted were King Arthur and Master Ma. He was familiar enough with the two of them to locate them instantly.

Master Ma’s injuries had not yet fully healed, and he hadn’t even had time to have his Prosthetic Body re-implanted.

At first glance, Master Ma looked like a disabled, middle-aged man. His hiding spot, very much in King Arthur’s style, was a sewer pipe halfway between the S-Class Pharmaceutical Society and the Remote Conference Mansion.

As for King Arthur, she was in much better shape than Master Ma.

Yesterday’s battle had left her almost completely unscathed. Right now, she was wielding the Sword in the Stone, standing proudly in... a sewer pipe.

Her hand never left the hilt of the Sword in the Stone, ready to unleash the power of this Tier Five Extraordinary Item at a moment’s notice.

Compared to Master Ma, King Arthur was positioned closer to the S-Class Pharmacy Society Mansion.

With one positioned further and the other closer, they could respond to any unexpected events.

After checking the positions of his two allies, Lin Qi shifted his focus to the "Mercenaries" he suspected were on the mission.

’Not a small group. A full six S-Class Implanters, but only one of them is a pure Implanter.’

’Of the other five, four possess Tier Three Extraordinary Power. The last one is... Tier Four, but likely only in the initial stage.’

’There should only be one T0-level Mercenary Corps involved in this operation. I’m just not sure which one it is.’

Seeing this enemy lineup, a great deal of the pressure on Lin Qi lifted.

’Six S-Class fighters?’

’No!’

Lin Qi only considered the Tier Four individual a real threat.

Ever since he started his Cultivation at Tier One, Lin Qi’s only real weakness had been a lack of methods to fight opponents of a higher tier.

When it came to facing any Extraordinary at his own tier or below, Lin Qi had never known fear.
