Chapter 608: Chapter 368: Slaying the Eighth Seat Round Table Knight

He had seen one S-Class professional killed in an instant while four others struggled, merely waiting to die.

Yamabe Hiko’s decision was incredibly decisive. He knew full well the Eastern Alliance had an old saying:

He who understands the times is a man of wisdom!

THUD. Yamabe Hiko dropped straight to his knees.

Yamabe Hiko sputtered in a terribly accented Eastern Alliance tongue, "Sir, please spare my life! I will leave World City immediately, I will no longer interfere... No, that’s wrong!"

"I will immediately do everything I can to help the Mercenary Corps over there! I will give my all to help you take revenge on the Round Table Knights!"

"Sir, I can be valuable to you! My value... is very, very, very... great!"

The accent was incredibly bizarre. Lin Qi had no idea why this man could even speak the language of the Eastern Alliance.

Normally, the Eastern Alliance language was only common in the Cyber Cities of the southeastern Asian Administrative Region.

Lin Qi could just barely make out what Yamabe Hiko was saying.

But Lin Qi gave no response, simply continuing his finishing strikes without a change in expression.

Masses of sarcoma-like tissue grew wildly inside the mercenaries’ bodies. Before long, the mercenaries, each possessing Extraordinary Power, went still.

Their Prosthetic Bodies blared alarms, attempting to release electric shocks to save their owners.

Unfortunately, the sarcomas had all but completely destroyed their brains.

Forget the self-administered shocks from their Prosthetic Bodies.

Even the top medical team from the Intercontinental Stability Trauma Emergency Company wouldn’t have been able to save them.

After killing the five S-Class professionals, Lin Qi made no further moves.

An S-Class professional with Tier Four power was clearly beyond his ability to handle.

Below Tier Four, Lin Qi could cut down his enemies like weeds.

But against a Tier Four, if Lin Qi wanted to fight above his weight class, it would require immense effort.

It would be far too easy to expose his true capabilities.

Rather than force a fight he might not win, intimidation was the better tactic.

Having seen so many S-Class professionals instantly killed with his own eyes, Yamabe Hiko would scare himself into submission.

Just as he was doing now. Seeing his five elite mercenaries utterly lifeless, he seemed to have completely forgotten that a spine was part of his anatomy.

He was bent double, his knees having buckled decisively.

He remained kneeling, his arms pressed flat against the ground, not daring to even lift his head.

He couldn’t have known the real reason Lin Qi hadn’t acted against him. He could only assume that the desperate promise he had just made was taking effect.

’No response... that must be a confirmation!’

Yamabe Hiko cautiously raised his head and glanced around, his eyes falling on the five very dead corpses.

He immediately slammed his head against the ground a few times.

"Sir! I am going now to keep my promise, to go help hunt down that Round Table Knight!"

Yamabe Hiko still spoke in that clumsy, broken tongue.

He knew in his heart that the mysterious powerhouse wouldn’t just let him go for no reason.

’The only reason I was spared must be because I have Tier Four Extraordinary Power, and can significantly interfere in the battle with the Round Table Knight.’

’The strong have their own way of doing things!’

’That great master might have considered it beneath him to give me direct orders, but I have to know my place and what to do.’

’If I want to live, I absolutely cannot deceive him.’

’A promise made is a promise I must keep.’

Yamabe Hiko took a deep breath. Still prostrate, he began to squirm backward.

After squirming back a full ten meters, he carefully rose to his feet and declared loudly, "I shall not betray my oath! I will strike with all my might!"

With that, Yamabe Hiko’s gaze hardened.

He looked off into the distance, toward the skyscraper where the battle was raging.

In an instant, white smoke shrouded the spot where Yamabe Hiko had been.

A few seconds later, white smoke erupted on the battlefield shared by Master Ma, King Arthur, and two Round Table Knights.

Afraid of being misunderstood, Yamabe Hiko bellowed, first in the language of the Eastern Alliance, "Damn you, Round Table Knight! Die!"

Then, fearing the combatants’ Intelligent Brain translators might be damaged in the fight, he quickly added, "Damn the Knights of the Round Table, meet your doom!"

Yamabe Hiko hurled three shuriken-shaped, S-Class Concussion Bombs at Ludwig.

Though Yamabe Hiko had just arrived, he took in the entire situation at a glance.

The battlefield was split in two.

One was a fight between a Tier Four Martial Artist and a Tier Four Knight.

The other was a battle between a male and a female Tier Four Knight.

Over where the Martial Artist was fighting, neither combatant was an ordinary Tier Four. The risk of getting involved there was too great.

But the other battle, between the male and female Knights, was a different story.

The blonde female Knight was wreathed in scarlet flames, exuding a terrifying Will Power. She was completely overwhelming the male Knight.

The male Knight only had the power of a Tier Four Second Stage.

’They’re both Knights, so which one is the Round Table Knight?’

Yamabe Hiko’s assessment was swift:

’There are no women in the Round Table Knights!’

’It was obvious who his target was.’

He had promised "that great lord" he would help hunt a Round Table Knight, but naturally, he would pick the weakest target.

The male Knight getting pummeled by the blonde female Knight already looked like he was knocking on death’s door!

’You’re the one!’

As the three shuriken-shaped S-Class Concussion Bombs flew through the air, Yamabe Hiko’s own Will Power erupted.

Although it was only at the strength of Tier Four, First Stage, Ludwig—already under immense pressure—had no power left to resist.

At that moment, Ludwig’s Knight’s Will Badge violently shattered.

For a Knight Professional, the Knight’s Will Badge is the very source of their Will Power. Once it shatters, their Sea of Consciousness suffers a devastating blow.

In a minor case, their Spiritual Power would dissipate. In a severe one, their very soul would be damaged.
