Dungeon Miner Slave
DMS Chapter 138
The funny thing about Flinx and his fellow Earthlings’ drunken situation was that even though everyone was excited about their towers, their first night was spent sleeping on the grounds just outside Flinx’s tower.
Flinx knew that Olivia and the others had already left. They chose to leave him and his “countrymen” be. Flinx imagined Oliva sniffing a little in contempt at their state, and he just found it amusing.
“Hey, Flinx. That lady you hired to be your kids’ tutor and manager of your shop. Is she single, or are you tapping that?” The guy named Rico asked.
Flinx stared at him. Apparently, he was mistaken to think that his fellow Earthlings were the same as him, who had become a little asexual from the traumatizing experience they had as slaves. He guessed that it was wrong for him to generalize. He did truly think that each one of them needed a psychiatrist.
He could have told Rico that, with their situation, none of them were ready to be in a relationship. He just said simply replied that Olivia was off-limits. Besides, Flinx wasn’t sure if Rico was serious or was just joking around.
Their goal that day was to enroll everyone as adventurers. That would take time since they would all have to take tests.
Flinx was correct, though. It took the twenty Earthlings the whole day to earn their Gold Badges from the adventurer guild. Everyone admired their glittering golden adventurer card, but Flinx just showed off his Diamond Rank. Samuel, who was the youngest among them at twenty-three, looked on enviously.
“Can I apply for a Diamond rank?”
“You can, but be prepared to lose your gold coins. As I’ve said, the one who will be testing you through combat will be a Diamond Rank adventurer, and they’re extremely powerful.”
Samuel had a Fighter class. Flinx had read about the other classes, but in truth, he found melee classes a little…underwhelming. Still, that opinion was based on his bias since he did always preferred magic wielders when it came to the books and games that he liked. Based on his little experience in gaming, though, most melee characters would ultimately become the most powerful.
Since there was a huge elemental pond in front of Flinx’s tower, which made the free area have little space, everyone set up a general meeting place that consisted of comfortable sofa chairs and small tables in front of the five towers of Flinx’s fellow Earthlings. Their roof was a tree that was magically grown by one of them who had a druid class. It was a third-level Druid spell called Plant Growth.
Because of that, their meeting place was a comfortable place. When the sun had set, the place was lit up by rechargeable camping lights that they had purchased from their System Shopping site.
“My mana stones are getting low, especially since I’ve been buying things nonstop,” Andrew said.
“We’re planning to delve into the dungeon tomorrow. We’re going to test out the upper floors. Which floor do you recommend, minding our levels?” Mark asked Flinx.
Everyone was planning to have five groups of four to delve into the dungeon of Mara the next day. Since they were mostly level threes and fours, which basically equated them to gold-level adventurers, Flinx thought that it was safe for them to delve past the tenth floor.
Since the dungeon floors of the Dungeon of Mara weren’t instance floors, which meant that there was a high chance that adventurers would meet each other inside, they all needed to think of the best way for them to delve safely. They shouldn’t think that the only danger they might encounter was the dungeon monsters. The more dangerous occurrences were other adventurers with malicious intentions.
“Since our first delve is a test and to practice our skills, especially since we just bought them from our system shops, three groups should go into the twelfth floor, and two groups should go into the eleventh floor,” Mark said.
They avoided the tenth floor because that was where the “Boss” was located.
Regarding magic items, Flinx told them of the different items he had managed to acquire from the dungeon. Sadly, he sold most of them for gold coins, so he couldn’t give anyone any magic items.
“That’s for the better. I would prefer to earn my own items,” Scott said, who was another one of Flinx’s fellow Earthlings.”
“Shouldn’t you rest first before diving headfirst into dungeon delving immediately?” Flinx asked.
“Idle minds and idle hands would only cause trouble. Once we’ve learned what we need to learn about dungeon delving, then we can start planning our activities thoroughly,” Paul said.
Since it’s already nighttime, everyone purchased food from their system shopping site. Flinx purchased more so that he could share them with Olivia, her two brothers, and the four children. He was a little sorry that he had been neglecting his adopted family lately.
Soon, Olvia and the others arrived. Even though he invited them, Olivia and Violet chose to eat inside the tower, but she did allow Ambrose, Christopher, David, Keero, and Arcio to mingle with Flinx’s “countrymen”.
Flinx guessed that it would be a little intimidating for a woman like Olivia to join a bunch of men with whom she wasn’t familiar.
When Ambrose learned that everyone would be delving into the dungeon the next day, he asked to join them. Samule would have accepted the kid, but Olivia rushed outside and started twisting Ambrose’s ears.
Everyone laughed at the situation, and Samuel apologized to Olivia for almost accepting the kid’s request to join them.
They learned that Ambrose was still studying to become an adventurer and would only start his first delve after two more months of intense training. The kid’s first delve would only be on the first few floors of copper rank dungeons. The Dungeon of Mara was categorized as a gold rank dungeon, which meant that even the first few upper floors were dangerous for a novice like Ambrose.
After Olivia was assured that they wouldn’t let Ambrose join them in delving into dungeons, she went back inside Flinx’s tower. When dinner was done, the boys explored everyone’s towers and were highly entertained since the towers were extremely different from each other.
Especially the one tower that looked like a spaceship that landed headfirst on the ground. That tower was owned by Samuel and the other younger Earthlings. That fact alone meant that floors were not normal and were mostly designed for entertainment. It was filled with a table tennis court, a small basketball hoop, a dart board, and everything a college frat boy would like to have in their apartment.
Samuel and his three friends even spent money buying a generator, a huge flat screen television, and a gaming console. Flinx knew that the three kids, Ambrose and Christopher, would prefer to live in Samuel’s tower, but after a while, they heard Olivia’s voice from outside, and they knew that it was time for the kids to go home to sleep.
Flinx was highly amused to see all the boys pouting at Olivia’s interference with their enjoyment. Basically, they had realized that Flinx was a boring guy.
When Flinx was in his room, he checked the status of his spells and his spell slots, and his most powerful spells and spell slots were still in cooldown due to his use of the Wish spell. He could still delve into the upper floors instead of the last floor of the Dungeon of Mara, so he could continue leveling up, but he thought that the experience points he would earn from the upper floors would be miniscule.
He decided to sleep and would continue thinking about it tomorrow.
