Dungeon Miner Slave
DMS Chapter 159
“Is it true? You’ve reached level twenty?” Peter asked Flinx.
“Yes. A total of twenty levels. My Wizard class reached level 12, while my Cleric class reached level 8,” Flinx replied.
After hearing that, everyone had questions, but Flinx told them that it would be better to wait for the others so they could discuss everything in detail. That way, no one would complain about missing any important information.
The wizard from Mark’s group cast the Galder’s Tower spell so everyone could freshen up and rest while they waited for the others to arrive.
Flinx also returned to his room to review his System Panel. In both of his classes, his spell slots had increased by one, but what surprised him the most was the addition of a level twelve spell slot.
He had already resummoned Pip, Pondy, and the two Rockies using the twelfth-level spell slot, and their strength had increased significantly. Pip was now able to cast up to level four wizard spells, and the owl could cast every spell that Flinx had already purchased up to level four.
Based on his understanding, his familiar’s magic system was almost identical to the Earthlings’ system when it came to power levels, certain mechanics, and the duration and cooldowns of spells.
Flinx’s elementals had also become more powerful, and their abilities had increased. Pondy could now create illusions inside the water, making their lake appear as if it were filled with colorful, small fish. The fish were only illusions, but they looked like floating gems. It was an incredibly beautiful and relaxing sight.
The Rockies had also improved, but Flinx had not yet fully explored the entire range of his elementals’ abilities.
Since Flinx was preparing himself, he decided to increase the level of his fourth tab space to level two. The upgrade cost him one high-level mana stone, but it increased the storage capacity to 1,000 cubic meters. Looking at the massive capacity of his fourth tab space made Flinx feel satisfied.
He also purchased every spell available to him. All the remaining Wizard spells cost him a total of 45 medium-level mana stones, while the Cleric spells cost him 15 medium-level mana stones.
When Flinx had first started leveling up, he thought purchasing every spell would cost him an enormous amount of mana stones. However, he realized that he had overestimated the cost. The total amount he spent on all the spells for both classes barely affected his mana stone reserves.
This made him wonder what other uses mana stones had. He was certain that they were incredibly valuable. The only problem was that he and the other Earthlings had yet to discover the other ways they could be used.
Since many of them had spent their free time reading novels on the internet while they were slaves, they were familiar with Eastern Cultivation. In those novels, cultivators used spirit crystals, which they believed might be similar to mana stones, to increase their cultivation.
They had tried different methods of absorbing mana from the stones to increase their experience points. They had even attempted to use mana stones to power their spells, but none of their experiments succeeded.
Based on those cultivation novels, some of them theorized that absorbing power from a spirit crystal would require something similar to a cultivation technique.
Some became so interested in the idea that they began theorizing that there might be places in this world where cultivation was the primary power system used by the inhabitants.
Those theories were exciting, and even Flinx found himself wanting to explore the world and discover whether cultivators truly existed. Some of his fellow Earthlings also theorized that once they became skilled enough in magic, they might eventually be able to use their spells to travel between worlds. If cultivation did not exist in this world, there was a chance they might encounter a cultivation world somewhere else.
Flinx was extremely excited about the possibility as well. The fact that he had reached what gamers on Earth would consider the “legendary” level—level twenty—meant he was closer to becoming a wizard capable of traveling between dimensions. More importantly, he would likely have enough power to protect himself.
However, Flinx did not feel as though he had truly reached that legendary level.
First, the twenty levels he had gained were split between two classes. More than likely, to experience the true effects of reaching a legendary level, he would need to reach level twenty in a single class.
It was only a theory, but that was how it felt to him.
Still, Flinx and the other Earthlings were relieved that the requirement for casting the Plane Shift wizard spell and returning to Earth did not require him to reach level twenty in only one class. Otherwise, reaching such a requirement would have been twice as difficult.
After waiting for five days, during which Flinx went to the dungeon to practice casting all of his spells, everyone finally returned.
Flinx was relieved that all of them had made it back safely. According to the others, there had been several close calls while they were exploring outside the city. Thankfully, they had the support of Flinx’s powerful earth elemental, which acted as their tank.
Everyone praised the elementals after experiencing firsthand just how powerful they were.
“It even helped us kill a high-level dragon!” Samuel exclaimed.
After that, they focused on the most important topic.
Returning to Earth.
“We need to discuss again what could happen once we return to our home planet. Some of you theorized that there is a possibility we might lose our transmigration gift after returning. If that happens, then once I travel to Earth, I might not be able to return here. Because of that, it is important for everyone to choose the first eight people who will accompany me,” Flinx told them.
Flinx knew they had already discussed the matter extensively, but he needed to remind everyone because if the worst-case scenario happened and he truly could not return, those who remained behind would have to continue leveling up until they reached level twenty before they could return to Earth.
Based on their experiences, that process would take an extremely long time.
During the six months they had spent exploring, they had only managed to gain one level. The difficult part was that, before beginning their journey, almost all of them had already been close to leveling up.
While his fellow Earthlings discussed who would accompany him, Flinx thought about what would happen to Olivia, Christopher, Ambrose, David, Arcios, Keero, and Violet if he never returned.
He was not worried about their finances. Flinx had already left a will with the Adventurer Guild stating that, if he disappeared, the lands where the towers were located would belong to everyone.
He also knew Olivia already had a large amount of gold saved, so even if he disappeared, she and her family would remain extremely wealthy.
Olivia had also promised that she would take care of David, Arcios, Keero, and Violet until they reached adulthood. The children knew that once they became adults—which in this city meant reaching sixteen years old—they would gain access to the trust fund Flinx had prepared for them.
Each of their accounts contained 10,000 gold coins. The amount was not astronomical, but it would be enough as a starting fund for whatever path they chose in life.
Finally, everyone agreed on the first eight people who would accompany Flinx back to Earth.
They would be Peter, Paul, Andrew, Edward, Ruiz, Rico, Oscar, and Bruce.
Flinx told them that the location he had chosen to return to was the park near where he used to live because it was the place he was most familiar with.
He also explained that the area was somewhat secluded, so there was a chance that no one would notice their sudden reappearance.
