Dungeon Miner Slave
DMS Chapter 194
Flinx estimated that once he cleared the wild dungeon, the Plane Shield protecting him from Earth's consciousness would last for a total of three hours: one hour from using the gate he had escaped through while fleeing the Torbal Slavers, one hour from casting Plane Shift with a thirteenth-level spell slot, and another hour from the dungeon reward.
He wondered whether all wild dungeons bestowed gifts upon those who conquered them.
What Flinx did not know was that wild dungeons were incredibly rare. Because they were usually located far from cities, any newly discovered wild dungeon would almost immediately be cleared by adventurers.
If an ordinary person discovered one, they would report it to the Adventurer Guild as quickly as possible since the guild offered a substantial reward for such information.
Flinx then thought about the reward he had received. If he had conquered the dungeon with a party, would everyone have received the same reward? Or would the mysterious consciousness that had asked him what spell or skill he desired have asked each party member individually?
Since he believed the dungeon reward could benefit not only himself but also his friends, he decided to share the information through the group's web messenger.
In his message, Flinx explained the reward he had requested and described how the mysterious consciousness had informed him that he would receive a one-hour Plane Shield, which would stack on top of his existing protection. He also explained that he did not know whether everyone in a raid party would receive the same reward or whether each member would be allowed to choose a different one.
He further admitted that his knowledge was limited and that he had no idea what restrictions, if any, existed regarding the rewards they could request.
Flinx also shared his theory that the consciousness had granted his request only because he was capable of casting Plane Shift and had somehow detected the spell's intricate mana structure.
After the flurry of messages in the group chat subsided, Mark asked Flinx to remain near the dungeon while everyone discussed who wanted to join him in conquering it.
As the meeting progressed, Samuel relayed every word of the discussion to Flinx.
Mark had gathered everyone so they could decide whether to return to Ilioven and participate in the raid on the wild dungeon.
Since several of them were living far away, it took hours for everyone to assemble. Some could not even attend because they were in another country.
Realizing the discussion would take a while, Flinx cast Galder's Log Cabin beside the dungeon and then covered the surrounding area with several Hallucinatory Terrain spells to ensure that no one would accidentally approach it.
He and his friends had already claimed the dungeon for themselves, and Flinx had no intention of allowing anyone else to steal the opportunity.
While waiting for his friends' decision, Flinx spent the time reading the final novel in the Spellsong Cycle series.
He actually managed to finish the entire book because it took his friends a full eight hours to gather. Some of them had needed to travel for more than five hours.
By the time Samuel began relaying the meeting word for word, the discussion had shifted to deciding who would accompany Flinx and whether interrupting their lives was worth the potential reward.
Some argued that even if the reward truly was an additional hour of Plane Shield, it was insignificant. Once that extra hour expired, Earth's consciousness would still strip away their transmigration gifts.
Paul reminded everyone that Flinx was not even certain that Plane Shield would be the reward for every participant. There was a possibility that each person would be allowed to choose a reward tailored to their own needs.
That possibility convinced almost everyone to return to the other world and participate in the wild dungeon raid.
Out of the twenty Earthlings, only ten would return. The others were either too busy with their lives or were currently in another country.
After making their decision, they discussed how they would return. Each of them would either travel to the park where Flinx normally cast Plane Shift or to the secluded alleyway that Flinx had memorized as another safe location for traveling between worlds.
The ten volunteers informed Flinx that they would gather at the park late that night, another seven hours away.
Since there was still plenty of time, Flinx decided to rest. To make sure he would not oversleep, he set an alarm on his Android tablet.
He then remembered that he needed to ensure he could teleport back to the wild dungeon after using Plane Shift. He stepped outside and took several photographs along with a video of the area using his tablet.
To firmly imprint the location in his mind, he cast Teleport and returned to his home in Ilioven.
He reappeared beside the tree near Pondy. After waiting a few seconds to ensure no one had noticed his arrival, he teleported back to the wild dungeon.
After successfully teleporting back and forth, Flinx was satisfied that he had memorized the location well enough.
He returned to his magical house, took a long, hot shower, ate a meal, and went to sleep.
The alarm on his tablet woke him.
He still had an hour before the agreed meeting time, so he freshened up before checking the group messenger.
Everyone was already waiting for him at the park.
Since Flinx intended to cast Plane Shift using a thirteenth-level spell slot, he would have two hours of Plane Shield. That knowledge eased his worries because he truly did not want to lose his transmigration gift.
Samuel had once told him through chat that losing the Transmigration System felt as though he had suddenly become gravely ill. The disappearance of the power granted by his assigned class had affected him tremendously, and they all believed that if they had been far stronger than level four or five at the time, the effects would have been much more severe.
Some of them even speculated that if the same thing happened to Flinx, he might feel as though he were dying.
Since Flinx's combined level from both of his classes had already reached twenty, the sudden loss of his magical and physical abilities would likely have a dramatic and visibly alarming effect on his body.
Flinx had no idea how long it would take to clear the twenty-floor wild dungeon, so everyone joining the expedition had prepared to be absent from their lives on Earth for as long as a month.
When midnight arrived on Earth, Flinx cast the Wizard spell Plane Shift using his thirteenth-level spell slot.
The moment he appeared in the park, he saw his friends waiting for him. He dismissed the Invisibility effect granted by casting Plane Shift with a higher-level spell slot.
Without hesitation, everyone greeted him with hugs.
Flinx, still deeply afraid of losing his Transmigration System, immediately asked everyone to hold hands.
As soon as they did, he cast Plane Shift once more and returned the entire group to the other world.
They appeared beside Flinx's Galder's Log Cabin, and everyone instinctively took deep breaths of the other world's unfamiliar air.
Flinx noticed that the first thing everyone did was likely open their System menus, as they all began staring blankly into the space before them.
