Dungeon Miner Slave
DMS Chapter 219
The two elves, who looked to be in their early teens, perhaps thirteen or older, looked exhausted. Although Flinx thought they might be teenagers, he knew little about elves and had no way of determining their true ages.
Even though Flinx’s cabin looked warm and inviting, the two elves still hesitated. Flinx could understand their reluctance. Based on what he had seen through Pip’s eyes, they had been running from the adult elves for quite some time, and there was probably a story behind their situation that had made them distrustful.
Pip hooted at the two elves, which seemed to make them trust Flinx a little more.
“You don’t need to worry about the people chasing you. My cabin is hidden behind a spell, and it would be impossible for them to find it,” Flinx assured the two elven teenagers.
Once they were inside Flinx’s cabin, the older elven girl introduced herself and her brother.
“My name is Elemendora, and this is my brother, Arementil.”
Flinx invited them to sit at his dining table. Although the table was a little small, it could seat four people.
“Do you eat meat?” Flinx asked the elves.
Both teenagers nodded.
He purchased a hearty dinner from his System Shopping Site consisting of a whole roasted chicken, two large loaves of bread, a large bowl of macaroni and cheese, a large bowl of Caesar salad, a large serving of fried bacon, a bowl of creamy mashed potatoes, a few pitchers of cold fruit juice, and several bottles of mineral water.
The two elves’ eyes widened when they saw Flinx conjure the huge amount of food and place it on the table.
Once everything had been laid out, he invited the two elven teenagers to eat. Since they were still hesitant, even though Flinx had already eaten, he filled his own plate with a little of everything on the table.
Once he started eating, the two elves could no longer hold themselves back and began eating as well.
Judging by how quickly they were eating, Flinx realized that they were extremely hungry. The older elven girl asked Flinx what the liquids in the pitchers were.
He told them that they were orange juice, soda, and lemonade, while the transparent bottles contained water.
It took a while for the two elves to finish eating. Flinx shouldn’t have been surprised when they managed to empty the entire table.
He just hoped they wouldn’t suffer stomachaches from overeating. He had forgotten to warn them to slow down.
Even though Flinx was interested in hearing their story, he decided to ask them questions after they had rested. He showed them the guest bedroom and the bathroom. He taught them how to turn on the shower, adjust the water between hot and cold, and flush the toilet.
He also showed them the pajamas he had purchased for guests and had surreptitiously placed inside the guestroom wardrobe.
Flinx told them that he expected to hear their story the next day after they had rested. He then left them alone.
He didn’t care if the elves decided to leave during the night. If they left his protection, they would almost certainly be captured and possibly killed by the people chasing them, and Flinx wouldn’t feel guilty about it. He had already offered them his protection, and if they chose to reject it, he wouldn’t force them to accept it.
The cabin door wasn’t locked, so if they decided to leave, they could do so.
Inside his bedroom, Flinx continued reading his book. After he became tired, he went to sleep.
The next day, he was the first to wake up. Flinx knew that this was because his two guests were exhausted.
He prepared a huge breakfast, and once everything was laid out on the dining table, his guests exited the guest room. More than likely, the smell of the food had woken them.
Flinx invited them to join him for breakfast, and after they finished eating, he asked them about their situation.
When he learned that they were from a tribe of elves deep in the forest and that their predicament was the result of a civil war between two brothers, Flinx lost interest.
He would have involved himself if it had been something noble, such as their tribe being attacked by a horde of monsters, but he felt that family disputes were not something he wanted to involve himself in.
He asked the two elves about their plans, and they told him that they intended to travel to the elven kingdom of Neverwise, which was about a month’s journey by horse from their current location.
The road Flinx had randomly chosen actually led to that kingdom.
That fact intrigued him. He wanted to see what an elven kingdom looked like, and having the two elven teenagers with him could possibly give him an opportunity to enter the elven kingdom without any trouble.
“Since I’m traveling along the road to that kingdom, you can join me. I’m quite sure that without my protection, the people chasing you would be able to capture you,” Flinx told the two elves.
They looked happy when they learned that Flinx was heading toward the same kingdom they intended to reach.
“The main issue is that it will probably take us longer than usual to reach the kingdom because my mode of travel is extremely slow. I’m currently walking everywhere, and I have no plans to use any other form of transportation.”
The elves asked him why he was walking instead of using a carriage or magic.
Flinx admitted that he was currently enjoying leisurely walks. He also admitted that he didn’t have an actual destination in mind and was simply traveling around at random.
The two elven teenagers gaped at him after hearing that.
After a couple of minutes, however, they still decided to stick with Flinx for the time being. Without him, they were truly in danger.
After that, Flinx told Elemendora and Arementil that they would be leaving in a few minutes and that they should prepare. He also asked to see the clothes they had been wearing and cleaned them using the Prestidigitation spell.
The fact that the cantrip amazed the two elves told Flinx that their society wasn’t as steeped in magic as the movies and books he had seen about elves had led him to believe.
After the two elves freshened themselves up in Flinx’s bathroom, they put on their freshly cleaned clothes.
Flinx exited the cabin with the two elven teenagers and then dispelled the cabin, much to the amazement of his guests.
He then asked Pip to use its spells to lead the elven teenagers’ pursuers away from their current location. Pip immediately flew deeper into the forest to fulfill Flinx’s command.
“Where is your owl going?” Elemendora asked when she noticed Pip flying deeper into the forest.
“I tasked him with leading your pursuers away from us,” Flinx replied.
The two elves looked worried about the owl, and Flinx smiled.
“You don’t need to worry about Pip. It’s very powerful and can cast powerful spells,” he assured the two elven teenagers.
After that, Flinx started walking along the road. He turned on the speaker he had purchased, and the music from The Lord of the Rings films floated softly through the air.
The two elves were startled when they heard the music. Flinx simply pointed at the speaker he was carrying and told them that the music was coming from the small box.
The two elves looked enamored with Flinx’s speaker. Thankfully, their pace was slow enough that they could inspect it to their heart’s content while they walked without any difficulty.
