Flinx told Abericht that he found the combat test a little anticlimactic. He had only cast a few offensive spells before the test was over.

“I thought my combat with that Platinum-Rank warrior would last longer than my fight with Semanor,” Flinx said.

The old wizard admitted that he had overheard Gremendor discussing the fight with Ruchamon. Apparently, the Platinum-Rank wizard had advised Orlando to take the test seriously after seeing the number of defensive spells Flinx had prepared.

Abericht also shared what he had overheard Gremendor telling Ruchamon. The moment Flinx’s spell stopped Orlando’s powerful sword attack and produced such a tremendous sound, Gremendor had considered the battle decided in Flinx’s favor.

“They just didn’t expect you to follow up with such a powerful spell that caused Orlando so much damage,” Abericht said.

The old wizard also told Flinx that Orlando had severely underestimated him. Apparently, the Platinum-Rank warrior hadn’t taken Semanor’s information seriously when he was told that Flinx had probably already reached the level of power required to pass the ranking-up test with ease.

If Orlando had been serious from the beginning, the combat might have lasted longer. However, Abericht told Flinx that Gremendor and Ruchamon had agreed that even under those circumstances, Flinx would still have won.

“I overheard Gremendor telling Ruchamon that you’re simply too powerful for Orlando,” Abericht said.

Flinx briefly wondered why Abericht was so willing to gossip about what he had overheard. Then he realized that the old wizard had begun treating him as a powerful member of the guild and one of their own.

Abericht then told Flinx to return the following day for the final test.

Flinx couldn’t believe he still had to complete the last part of the ranking-up examination. Three Platinum-Rank adventurers already considered him a powerful spellcaster, which meant he was qualified and no longer needed to prove his abilities.

When he shared that thought with Abericht, the old wizard simply smiled and told him that he was correct. However, they still had to follow the rules established by the founder of the Adventurer Guild.

The final test would be conducted the next day.

Flinx returned to the compound. Since the combat test hadn’t taken long, he arrived home earlier than expected.

He went to his tower to rest. Although the fight had been brief, the tension he had experienced left him feeling somewhat exhausted.

After resting for a couple of hours, Flinx ate a late lunch and then joined some of the people wandering around the compound.

He saw Bernard and Penelope among the group of older family members of his friends, so he went over to join them.

“How was your ranking-up examination?” Bernard asked.

Despite being over sixty years old, Bernard now looked like a handsome young man in his early twenties.

“I passed the second part of the examination, and the final test is tomorrow. I don’t doubt that I’ll pass, since I was told they already consider me powerful enough. The only reason I still have to complete the final test is that the rules require it,” Flinx replied.

Flinx wasn’t surprised that they already knew about his ranking-up examination. His friends had obviously shared the news with their family members.

Someone asked when he would be able to cast the spell that could make them young.

Apparently, seeing Bernard and Penelope had made the older members of his friends’ families increasingly anxious.

Flinx told them that he could cast the spell after the test the following day. The next person scheduled to receive the spell was delighted by the news.

After that, the conversation shifted to the businesses each family planned to establish.

They asked Flinx for his opinion, but he admitted that his knowledge of what the locals would find interesting was severely limited. He suggested that they speak with Olivia about the matter instead.

When he heard laughter, Flinx noticed children running around nearby.

He then asked Bernard where the young people were.

The older people laughed and explained that the teenagers were doing their best to avoid being seen by the adults.

Some of them sighed and admitted that they needed to start educating the teenagers about sex and protection.

Apparently, they had decided that trying to stop the young people from exploring their sexuality would be futile.

Thankfully, Paul was a doctor and could prescribe contraceptives to those who planned to become sexually active. Moreover, the transmigrators’ System Shopping Site was fully functional, allowing them to purchase all kinds of contraceptives, from pills to condoms.

Even better, the System Shopping Site contained every medicine that could be purchased on Earth. It also offered all kinds of hospital equipment.

However, the older people no longer considered that particularly important. Healing spells were powerful enough to cure even fatal and lifelong diseases, such as diabetes, which had greatly reduced their reliance on conventional medicine.

What astonished everyone, and drove home the fact that the System Shopping Site wasn’t the same as the famous shopping site from Earth despite looking identical, was that even prohibited drugs such as heroin and cocaine were available.

That revelation left Flinx flabbergasted.

He immediately opened his own System Shopping Site to check for himself. His eyes widened when he discovered that they were right.

All kinds of illegal drugs were available, from marijuana to ecstasy, including substances he didn’t even recognize.

Flinx shook his head at the absurdity of finding illegal drugs in the system’s inventory.

He then decided to test the shopping site further.

He searched for items such as large cargo ships and discovered that those were available as well.

He felt somewhat relieved when he searched for starships and found that they were unavailable.

After testing the site with several more searches, Flinx realized that the only items available were real things that could be found on Earth.

Anything from fiction or anything that contained magic was unavailable.

When Bernard noticed that Flinx had been silent for a while, Samuel’s father asked him if he was all right.

Flinx admitted that he had been surprised to learn that illegal drugs were available, so he had decided to investigate what else the System Shopping Site offered.

He explained that his tests had revealed that almost any item from Earth could be purchased, including large objects such as cargo ships. However, anything fictional or anything that contained magic was unavailable.

After hearing that, the others began asking Flinx to search for various items. However, Bernard stopped them and told them to explore the System Shopping Site themselves with the help of the member of their group who had access to the system.

After a while, the dungeon delvers returned, except for those who had decided to focus on leveling up.

Everyone gathered in the meeting hall, and all the members of the compound were invited to attend.

The dungeon delvers had nothing new to report. They simply confirmed that they would stick to their decision to remain on the tenth floor until they reached their next class level.

When it was Flinx’s turn to speak, he told everyone what had happened during his duel with the Platinum-Rank warrior.

He admitted that he had been frightened by the possibility of killing an important member of the guild. The experience had taught him not to place complete trust in assurances that everyone would be fully protected during duels.

Flinx’s friends who had joined him in delving into the wild dungeon in the unnamed forest admitted that they had never doubted he would pass the examination.

They had already witnessed the power of his spells, and even those accustomed to watching films filled with CGI effects had been awestruck by the destructive power of high-level magic.
