DMS Chapter 72

Flinx thought of how he could make his tower and the people living inside safe while he was away hacking at monsters inside the dungeon. He utilized his 1^st tab in his system, which had the search bar and the tab that the Earthling dungeon miner slaves had been utilizing to surf the Earth’s internet.

Based on his research, the best thing that he could do was use summoning magic to assign a bodyguard for the family. According to the information that he had read, he could cast the 5th-level spell Conjure Elemental to conjure up a powerful elemental that would be able to protect him or the people he wanted protected. Then he could use the Planar Binding to bind them for a longer duration.

The website that contained information about the spells from the most famous fantasy role-playing tabletop game, which his transmigration system was based on, stated that to bind a conjured elemental, Flinx would need to trap it first inside a Magic Circle because the casting time of Planar Binding was one hour, and since Conjure Elemental was a concentration required spell, casting Planar Binding would take up his concentration and would free the elemental.

It was highly different from his system. First, his system removed all concentration requirements from all of his spells. Meaning all of them could be cast and would work without him needing to concentrate. Second, all of his spells were instant cast. That meant that he could cast Planar Binding instantly, which meant that he could bind a conjured elemental instantaneously.

The issue was that some information stated that conjured elementals were neutral to the summoner and could reinterpret a command based on their emotions. If that was the case, he would rather not summon anything like that. He didn’t want his summon to suddenly turn hostile.

When he read the description in his system about Conjure Elemental, it was highly different from the game on which it was based. His system stated that the conjured summon would be completely loyal.

That description relieved Flinx because it meant that once he summoned and bound an elemental, it would be completely loyal and would follow his command obediently. Flinx immediately bought the spells Conjure Elemental and Planar Binding for 42 low-level mana stones.

Flinx planned to conjure up the family’s bodyguard tomorrow. A pity that the planned Elemental Bodyguard would only last for 30 days when Planar Binding, slotted on the 7th-level spell slot, was used.

After his decision was made to conjure up an elemental that would become the family’s bodyguard, Flinx thought of utilizing some of his spells to summon servants for everyone, like utilizing the Tiny Servant spell, but then he thought that it would be best for the kids to learn how to do chores. He decided that he shouldn’t even use his Prestidigitation spell anymore to clean anything and would ask Olivia to train the kids on how to use their hands to clean.

Basically, he wanted David, Arcios, Keero, and Violet, with the help of Olivia and her two brothers, Christopher and Ambrose, to become self-sufficient. That would be the best for everyone.

The next day, Flinx was highly surprised to learn that he was the first one to wake up. Since there was no food in the tower, he retrieved the cooked food stored in plastic storage boxes from his 4^th tab space to serve as everyone’s breakfast. Once Olivia and Christopher filled the tower’s pantries with food, the food they would eat would come from what Christopher would cook for everyone.

Soon, one by one, everyone arrived. They were all surprised at the food and bottled water that were already on the table.

“Where did the food come from?” Arcios asked.

“I conjured them, but this is going to be the last time. The next time we eat, it will be from Olivia, or rather, Christopher’s cooking.”

After eating, Flinx asked everyone to gather in the living room after he cleaned and stored the plastic storage boxes in his 4^th tab space.

Once they were gathered, Olivia handed Flinx a very long list of items they would need to purchase. The budget that Olivia wrote was surprisingly only 100 gold coins.

“How long would the supply from this list last us?” Flinx asked.

“For the food, a week for those that spoil fast and a month for the long-lasting ones like oat grains. The other stuff, like clothes, should last a while,” Olivia replied.

“I’ll give you 300 gold coins to make sure that you will have enough funds. I want you to buy all the things that you can think of to make sure that the tower is fully equipped. The first thing that you will need to buy is some sort of cart so you can haul everything that you’ll buy in one go. I will conjure a couple of powerful golems to assist you. The golems will guard you and even push the cart for you.”

“Are you not coming with us?” Olivia asked.

“I will be, but I’ll just observe how you work and observe how the golems would work,” Flinx answered.

After that, they all went outside. Flinx planned to cast the 5th-level Conjure Elemental spell to summon an earth elemental. He wanted the earth elemental to look like a humanoid golem and hoped it would work that way. Then he planned to bind the elementals using the 5th-level Planar Binding spell slotted on the 7th-level spell slot to make sure that earth elementals would last for 30 days.

Everyone looked excited at seeing the magic that Flinx planned to cast. Once they were outside, Flinx cast the Conjure Elemental spell while holding the image of a humanoid golem in his mind. When the earth elemental appeared, it looked exactly how Flinx had envisioned it. A muscular stone golem around 6-feet tall.

Everyone gasped when they saw the golem appear. The next thing Flinx did was to cast the 5th-level Planar binding spell onto the earth elemental, and the binding was successful. He saw in his sight that the duration of the earth elemental that looked like a stone golem became 30 days.

The next thing Flinx did was command the golem to perform some actions to check its function. He commanded it to walk, run, jump, and do everything else he could think of, and based on the result, its speed was as fast as a powerful warrior. He couldn’t test its combat ability since there was nothing nearby for it to fight.

After that, Flinx summoned a second and a third one so that the family would have a total of three stone golems. He then gave a loud command that everyone could hear that the three golems should follow every command made by Olivia, Christopher, and Ambrose.

“Hey, what about us?!” David complained, and even Arcios, Keero, and Violet looked surly.

“Once you’ve reached the same age as Christopher and Ambrose, I’ll give each of you your own golem. Right now, these three golems would only last for thirty days,” Flinx said, and the four kids looked delighted when they heard that.

Flinx was then flabbergasted when the four kids started climbing on top of the golems.

‘Hey! You’ll fall!” Flinx shouted at the kids, who promptly ignored him.

David, Arcios, and Keero managed to climb on the three golems' shoulders and started using them as their mounts to their utmost delight. Violet tried to fight for a spot, but Olivia stopped her, telling the girl that little girls shouldn’t act like boys and climb on top of things.

Flinx laughed when he saw the surprised and dismayed expression on Violet’s face.
