Chapter 875: Swift and Decisive Measures
Upon hearing Zhou Huai's nonchalant question, "Were these people killed or captured alive?", Eliza was clearly at a loss.
She knelt blankly on the griffin's back, her eyes filled with confusion.
ah?
Me?
Is it my place to express my opinion in this situation?
She looked at the blond, blue-eyed young man in front of her, whose tone was as indifferent as if he were asking what to eat for dinner.
But standing below her were the elite of the Blood Wolf Gang, the thugs who had just nearly tortured her to death!
Eliza swallowed hard, her mind blank, unsure how to respond.
On the lawn below, the bearded man, Dunt, was furious when he saw that Zhou Huai didn't take him seriously at all, and even asked the bird-like girl how he was going to be dealt with.
"Arrogant! They're utterly courting death!"
Dunt's forehead veins bulged. He was the second-in-command of the Blood Wolves; in Gotham City's underworld, who wouldn't respectfully call him Boss Dunt?
Today, I was completely ignored by a mere young upstart in front of all my subordinates!
"Who do you think you are? Riding a griffin, you dare to act all high and mighty on our Blood Wolf Gang's territory?" Dunt suddenly raised the giant battle axe weighing hundreds of kilograms in his hand, and the blade instantly ignited with blood-red battle aura, pointing directly at Zhou Huai in mid-air.
"Brothers, kill him!"
Dunt let out a wild roar.
"kill!"
Chop him into mincemeat!
The crowd behind him responded, and more than a dozen elite members of the Blood Wolf Gang roared in unison, unleashing their professional aura and drawing their swords.
The moment Dunt gave the order, an elemental mage standing at the back of the crowd had already secretly gathered energy.
This mage, a level 62 high-ranking retainer hired by the Blood Wolf Gang at great expense, took advantage of the moment when Dunt was distracted, and the ruby at the tip of his staff condensed into high temperature, unleashing an elemental skill.
"Die! Roar of the Fiery Dragon!"
A giant fire dragon, over ten meters long, roared out and lunged at Zhou Huai in mid-air.
"Good! Burn him to death!"
Upon seeing this, the Blood Wolf Gang's underlings all grinned maliciously.
Before the fire dragon could even get close to Zhou Huai, it was repelled by an invisible force.
"boom--!"
A muffled thud. Flames scattered in all directions, but not even the hem of Zhou Huai's clothes were lifted. Immediately afterwards, a recoil force erupted from the invisible barrier, directly bouncing the fire dragon back the way it came!
"What?!"
The elemental mage's sinister smile froze instantly. Before he could even defend himself, he was struck head-on by his own fire dragon, sending him flying backward and crashing heavily against the wall.
The entire place fell silent. The Blood Wolf Gang members stared wide-eyed at each other in bewilderment.
Faced with the shock of the crowd below, Zhou Huai didn't even look at them and directly used Li Er's "Words Become Law".
To prevent any disturbance from causing trouble, he decided to seal off the area first. There was no lengthy chanting, nor any magical light; Zhou Huai simply moved his lips slightly.
There are only two words: blocked.
The voice wasn't loud, but it carried the power of law.
While it may not seem to have caused any unusual phenomena, an invisible shielding force has actually enveloped the entire manor.
This force altered the fundamental laws of space, completely isolating the manor's internal sounds, energy fluctuations, and light changes from the outside world. Even if the world were in turmoil inside, it would appear calm and peaceful to the outside.
After doing all this, the next second, a figure rushed out from Zhou Huai's body.
"Boom!"
A sudden clap of thunder boomed in the clear sky. Golden lightning poured down, gathering before Zhou Huai.
It was Yasuo, enveloped in golden lightning.
He wore a black trench coat with a crescent moon emblem, his black hair casually tied back, a few strands of hair obscuring his sharp eyes. He had a bit of stubble on his chin, and golden lightning danced wildly on the longsword in his hand.
"Who...who is this person?"
Yasuo's sudden appearance startled everyone around him. The sheer power of his thunderous aura caused the Blood Wolf Gang members present to involuntarily go weak in the knees.
Fortunately, Dunt gave timely orders to calm his subordinates down.
"What's the panic! It's just a charade!" Dunt gripped his battle axe tightly, a mad glint in his eyes. "I'm a level 70 berserker! Whatever it is, die!"
Before he finished speaking, Dunt charged towards Yasuo first.
"Mountain Splitting Slash!" Dunt roared, unleashing his level 70 battle aura. His battle axe condensed into a blood-red axe beam several meters long, which he fiercely slashed at Yasuo.
Faced with this attack, Yasuo's eyes remained completely calm. He didn't even try to dodge; he simply slowly raised his longsword.
Before Dunt could react, a flash of lightning appeared, and his right arm silently slipped off.
It was too fast. No one saw Yasuo draw his sword; they only saw a flash of golden lightning. Dunt was still in his charging, slashing stance, but his right arm, holding the battle axe high, along with the heavy axe, slammed heavily onto the grass.
The cut was as smooth as a mirror; before the blood could even gush out, it was charred into ash by the power of the thunder.
Dunt let out a piercing scream.
"Aaaaaah! My hand! My hand!" Dunt rolled on the ground clutching his severed arm, his screams echoing throughout the manor.
The horrific scene utterly terrified the other underlings.
The Blood Wolf Gang members stared at the black-clad swordsman in mid-air as if he were a monster.
"The...the boss got killed instantly?"
"He didn't even last one move?"
Fear spread rapidly. The once murderous crowd suddenly lost their will to fight and turned to flee.
"Run!"
"This is something we simply cannot handle!"
Looking at the fleeing crowd below, Zhou Huai gave the order from the griffin: Kill them all, leave no one alive.
Yasuo nodded, and his figure transformed into lightning as he gave chase.
"Lightning Illusion!"
Yasuo's body instantly split into three, transforming into three illusory lightning bolts.
His figure moved with the speed of a ghost, and in an instant, dozens of people died at his hands.
Golden sword light crisscrossed the crowd, each flash of lightning accompanied by the flying of heads. The Blood Wolf Gang elites, at levels fifty and sixty, were like paper before Yasuo, torn apart by sword energy before they could even scream. The once-flat lawn was now a scene of carnage.
Eliza covered her mouth, speechless for a long time.
She knew the bearded man's background well: the second-in-command of the Gotham Blood Wolves, level 70.
While not top-tier in Gotham City, they were definitely first-rate fighters, yet they couldn't even last a single round against this man.
