Earth's Greatest Magus

Chapter 3051: Bloodline

  • Next Chapter

To build the strongest clone body possible, Emery decided the foundation needed to be reinforced first.

Fifty doses of the Superior Gene Elixir sat safely within his inner domain. He certainly wouldn’t need anywhere close to all of them—or so he told himself. Master Bob had briefed him thoroughly back at the facility, explaining both the elixir’s capabilities and its limitations before Emery ever decided to use it.

He lifted the first crystalline syringe, watching the elixir inside catch the light in deep, shifting shades of gold. Without hesitation, he pressed the needle directly into his heart and injected the entire dose.

The needle pierced his flesh cleanly.

The reaction was almost immediate.

A wave of heat erupted from his chest and spread through his body, rapidly intensifying as golden energy coursed through his veins. Faint lines of light appeared beneath his skin, branching outward from his heart like molten metal flowing through countless channels.

Pain meant very little to someone at Emery’s current realm.

This was different.

The sensation quickly climbed beyond anything the previous version of the serum had ever produced, burning deeper than flesh and blood as the elixir began reaching into the very structure of his genes. His muscles tightened involuntarily while his bloodline stirred violently within him, resisting and then adapting to the transformation.

The system notifications appeared one after another.

[Bloodline entering purifying state]

[Gene structures reorganizing]

[Royal Fey gene essence increasing]

[70%... 72%... 74%]

[Battle Power Increased]

[Soul Force Strengthened]

Four percent.

A single dose had increased his Royal Fey gene essence by four percent, multiple times the improvement the old formula had been capable of producing.

Emery’s eyes brightened.

He could feel the difference throughout his entire body. The change wasn’t merely an increase in raw power; his bloodline itself felt cleaner, denser, and more responsive, as though impurities that had accumulated over countless generations were being stripped away layer by layer.

For someone who had spent years slowly pushing against the limits of his bloodline, feeling that bottleneck give way so easily was almost exhilarating.

Whatever resources the Alliance had poured into the Superior Gene Project, the result was nothing short of a miracle for Halfblood cultivators.

Still, Emery remembered Master Bob’s warning.

The elixir was powerful precisely because it forced the bloodline to change, and forcing too much change too quickly could cause more harm than good.

So Emery did not immediately inject another dose.

He remained seated in meditation, allowing the golden energy to settle while his body gradually adapted to the transformation. Hours passed as the violent reaction subsided, leaving behind a deeper, more stable strength woven into his bloodline.

Only when he was certain the first dose had completely settled did Emery finally reach for the second crystalline syringe.

He studied the golden liquid for a moment before a faint smile appeared on his face.

"Again."

The second dose hit harder.

Faint cracks of light traced along Emery’s arms and shoulders as the internal pressure surged beyond what his body had prepared for. Golden energy leaked from his skin in visible waves, filling the cultivation chamber with a heavy, shimmering pressure as the elixir once again forced his bloodline into a state of rapid purification.

[Bloodline entering purifying state]

[Royal Fey gene essence increasing]

[75%... 76%]

[Battle Power Increased]

[Soul Force Strengthened]

Two percent.

The gain was already diminishing, but it was still well beyond anything the old serum had ever offered.

"Again."

The third dose gave him another one percent.

The fourth produced every physical sensation of the previous three—the intense heat, the growing internal pressure, and the faint golden glow beneath his skin—yet when the transformation finally settled, the number refused to move.

Deeper within him, however, something else stirred.

The reaction came specifically with the fourth dose.

For the first time since Emery had begun the purification process, the Star-Devouring Beast shifted restlessly within the depths of his body.

"Again"

The fifth dose and after the sixth the number finally pushed forward again.

[Royal Fey Gene Essence — 78%]

Eight percent in total.

Six doses had raised his bloodline essence by a full eight percent, an extraordinary improvement by any measure. It was worth remembering, however, that Emery’s bloodline was already among the rarest in the whole wolf halfblood—a true Mythical classification with potential that ultimately reached Rank 9.

According to Master Bob’s notes, this was also where the process would become considerably more difficult.

Beyond this point, the efficiency of the Superior Gene Elixir would fall sharply. A handful of doses might be required for a single additional percentage point, while dozens could potentially be needed to push the next one.

On paper, continuing the purification looked increasingly wasteful.

Emery didn’t stop.

Something beneath the numbers told him that he was approaching something far more important than another percentage point.

Still, Emery had no intention of recklessly forcing his bloodline across that threshold alone. The strange reaction from the Star-Devouring Beast had only strengthened his caution. If something went wrong during the purification, there was no guarantee he would understand what was happening quickly enough to stop it.

Rather than continue unsupervised, Emery left his cultivation chamber and headed directly for the Utopia Gene Center.

He called for Kayelin.

Minutes later, Emery sat once again in the reinforced examination chair that Utopia had used for countless high-level genetic experiments. The chair had been specially designed to withstand violent bloodline reactions, and even Emery could see how much additional reinforcement had been added around its frame.

As soon as he settled into place, the mechanisms activated.

Runes ignited one after another along the chair’s metallic surface, forming overlapping diagnostic arrays that spread beneath his body. Tubes extended from both sides like mechanical vines, connecting to his arms, chest, and temples while several smaller instruments unfolded above him, scanning his body and bloodline simultaneously.

Kayelin stood beside the apparatus, one hand resting near the controls and the other holding a crystalline syringe filled with the golden Superior Gene Elixir.

"Are you sure about this?"

Emery looked at the syringe, then calmly nodded.

"Yes. Do it."

One dose followed another.

"Again."

Kayelin reached for the next syringe, but before she could prepare the dose, something inside Emery lurched violently.

The Star-Devouring Beast surged against the boundaries of his spiritual sea.

This time, it was no longer a restless stirring. Its hunger had sharpened into something dangerously close to agitation, its immense presence straining against Emery’s control with enough force that he felt the reaction in his physical body. His chest tightened, and for a moment, the beast’s heartbeat seemed to overlap with his own, creating a second, heavier rhythm beneath his ribs.

Emery closed his eyes and turned his attention inward.

Drawing upon his Stellar Core cultivation, he reached directly into the depths of the beast consciousness and confronted the beast’s surging will.

Emery tightened his will and forced the beast’s agitation back under control. The immense creature finally settled, but reluctantly, its hunger still lingering beneath the surface like a predator waiting for an opportunity to break free.

Only after he was certain the situation was stable did Emery open his eyes again.

His gaze settled on the remaining syringes.

"Again."
