Chapter 260: Chapter 239: Yu Dong’s Mercy

Cold sweat dripped down Qiao Yunliang’s face.

"Nobody move!"

It was as if someone had hit a pause button; all the soldiers froze in place.

The 52 drones flew closer and closer... Under the soldiers’ terrified gazes, they suddenly halted, stopping to hover right above their heads.

One hovered directly over Qiao Yunliang, emitting a piercing whine. The slightest mistake... and he’d be obliterated, just like taking a direct hit from a sniper-rifle grenade. No body would be left.

"Excellent."

Yu Dong straightened his collar and strode out from among his people. He came to a stop before Qiao Yunliang, and seeing the cold sweat on the man’s face, he offered an encouraging smile.

"Qiao, you’ve made a wise choice. You just saved the lives of these soldiers."

"Where did you get so many drones? Your people have already been captured. Who’s still willing to die for you?"

’These aren’t ordinary people!’

’These are thugs who dare to attack the army!’

’And the flight paths of every single drone are incredibly smooth. You can tell at a glance they’re all veterans!’

’Aren’t all the pilots from Yu Dong’s combat teams here with us? Or they’re outside. Even if a few slipped through the cracks, how could there... suddenly be so many drones!’

’He never knew Yu Dong had this many suicide drones under his control!’

’There was no intel on this!’

Yang Ze and Wang Dingbei also stared in astonishment at the drone swarm.

Wang Dingbei said, "Is this what he calls ’a few’? You were with him for so long, did he ever tell you about this?"

Yang Ze replied, "...I never knew."

’Who’s piloting them for Yu Dong?’

’Where did all these skilled pilots come from?’

These 52 FPV suicide drones, armed with high-explosive impact charges, had completely flipped the situation.

If Yu Dong gave the word, he could annihilate the entire military force right where they stood.

There was absolutely no room for resistance.

’Who was it?’

Just then, the walkie-talkie in Yu Dong’s pocket crackled to life. Liu Ye’ye’s voice came through.

"Senior, I’ve initiated the emergency protocol and am deterring the enemy. Your next orders, please."

Jiang Zhuoyu stepped forward and smoothed out a wrinkle on the back of Yu Dong’s clothes. A confident, yet restrained, smile played on his lips.

"Brother Dong, to kill or not to kill? Whatever you decide, we’ll support you."

Wang Dingbei’s eyes widened. He glanced around—just as he thought, Liu Ye’ye was nowhere to be seen. ’She’s on the cruise ship, secretly protecting Yu Dong!’

’Fifty-one... fifty-one... it’s the fifty-one students from Ocean University. Take away Jiang Zhuoyu, and add Liu Ye’ye! That’s who it is!’

’Yu Dong’s Combat Team Two!’

Realization struck Wang Dingbei, and his mind went blank.

He’d only ever seen Yu Dong occasionally training the students of Combat Team Two, joking and roughhousing with them.

He’d always assumed that since Yu Dong was a college student himself, he just naturally got along with the other students.

’But deep down, he’d never thought much of those students... a bunch of kids who’d never seen real combat, always laughing and goofing around. What could they possibly do?’

’They didn’t even have standard-issue weapons. What kind of fighting force could they be?’

’They were no threat at all!’

’He thought Yu Dong was just playing house!’

’He never imagined... that this group had secretly gotten so good with drones. He never imagined they could be so ruthless, with a loyalty to Yu Dong that rivaled Combat Team One!’

’They’d sent suicide drones right over the soldiers’ heads, ready to blow up more than 300 of them in an instant, without any hesitation!’

’How!? Just how!?’

’How does Yu Dong do it?’

’How does he command such loyalty from so many people!’

’Could it be because of... Jiang Zhuoyu?’

He remembered the day Jiang Zhuoyu had taken the initiative to come to the command team’s office...

"Hello, sir. I’m Jiang Zhuoyu, the student representative from Ocean University."

"Last night, I compiled a list of the surviving students from my university. I’ve noted down everyone’s academic background, skills, and some other basic information."

"With the exception of a few who aren’t very social, most of us want to contribute to the cruise ship base. Please, give us jobs!"

"Whatever the organization needs, I’ll do it!"

"I would be honored to work for you!"

Yu Dong had thought it was a great idea and immediately took on Jiang Zhuoyu as his secretary. He had even asked Wang Dingbei himself.

"It’ll be good for the students to know they have a representative in management, and it’ll make it easier for me to hear their opinions. Wang, if you need someone, you should pick one of these students to help you out, too."

"My work requires people with real-world experience. College kids... they won’t cut it."

After that, Wang Dingbei had no further contact with the students. All he knew was that they never caused him any trouble and were quite disciplined.

Other than that, he felt nothing toward them.

And now, they had become Yu Dong’s ultimate trump card!

With a single command, they would all be blown to bits.

At that moment, Yu Dong and Jiang Zhuoyu stood in the very center of A Port, looking like an emperor and his trusted confidant surveying their domain.

No one had ever escaped Yu Dong’s schemes...

Wang Dingbei, Hou Qian, Qiao Yunliang... they were all just obstacles on Yu Dong’s path.

At this moment, Advisor Li was filled with regret.

If he had just handled that matter properly back then, if Qian Chenglin hadn’t needed to carry a gun to make his case, maybe things wouldn’t have come to this.

Zheng Zhonghu, that old brute, had been thrilled today because everything was going according to his plan. He’d thought that taking back power from Yu Dong would be as simple as pointing a gun at him and watching him surrender. But he never expected... that this young man had so much power behind the scenes.

These were the kind of drones only the regular army had access to. Where would their militia and armed guards ever get their hands on equipment like this?
