Chapter 285: Chapter 250: A Single Spark

Yu Dong’s past life hadn’t been a complete failure; he had his share of successes!

He usually hadn’t noticed these experiences because he was always busy pushing forward and fighting his way out.

Back then, Qiao Yunliang had taken more than just Yu Dong’s authority; he had also shouldered the responsibility for the cruise ship.

He took over many of the tasks Yu Dong used to handle.

Once Yu Dong was freed from those duties, he had time to think and reflect.

And so, he noticed something... about the forces that were independent of the cruise ship and the military.

With just a few pieces of information Yu Dong had given him on the second day of the apocalypse, Ji Luo managed to build up the research institute base into something impressive, making it the third-largest armed faction in Yanhai City.

The "SSR-tier" fireworks factory owner single-handedly captured the fertilizer plant Zhou had been eyeing and began hand-crafting explosives.

When it came to hand-crafting explosives... Zhou was likely less specialized than the owner of a small fireworks factory.

Zhou was an expert in advanced chemistry. Hand-crafting explosives, on the other hand, had a relatively low barrier to entry. Zhou later taught many people in the chemistry group, and they all learned how. Even Yu Dong could now craft explosive Molotov cocktails. Eventually, Zhou stopped doing such basic work and moved on to researching the separation of chemical substances from heavy oil, developing high explosives and plastic explosives...

Moreover, Ji Luo was able to maintain political stability at his base; his was the only voice that mattered. Because he supported Yu Dong, Professor Meng could conduct his experiments there without any issues, which meant it was one less thing for Yu Dong to worry about.

Yu Dong had concluded at the time... if Ji Luo hadn’t survived, the research institute base would never have existed. In all likelihood, he would never have sent Professor Meng there to research the vaccine.

Zooming out, Yu Dong’s thoughts turned to Song Jinchuan. His family must have had luck blessed by their ancestors. When the zombie virus broke out, half of his family members actually survived! Their group started with about a dozen people. They operated under a standard clan-based management system, and Song Jinchuan was the godfather of the Song Family.

With the clan as their foundation, their own strength was formidable, allowing them to confidently take in outsiders. They developed their community in a villa district, which offered a good living environment and a prime location with basically no major threats nearby. Coupled with their first-mover advantage in securing a large amount of supplies, they thrived.

From Yu Dong’s perspective, Song was much more straightforward to deal with than Qiao.

When Yu Dong asked Song Jinchuan for manpower, he provided it. When he asked for equipment, he provided it. The man was incredibly reasonable!

Song had his own way of doing things, but he knew what was truly right and wrong. He would never let Yu Dong down, nor would he ever give Yu Dong a reason to move against his base.

As for the Fan Zhenyu brothers, Yu Dong considered them an upgraded version of his second-life self.

The first time Yu Dong met them, they had brought a huge bag of condoms to the cruise ship to trade for weapons... Yu Dong gave them three spears and a Python Compound Crossbow.

The two brothers’ experiences were actually more brutal than Yu Dong’s in his second life. They had no inside information whatsoever. After the apocalypse broke out, they couldn’t even find a decent weapon. The pair simply grabbed whatever was at hand and slaughtered their way through their entire residential complex!

Their complex was much larger than Xiangti Bay; its survivors alone numbered in the dozens.

Later, the brothers led a group and liberated several nearby complexes, developing them into a large settlement.

If Yu Dong had to use one phrase to describe the two brothers... "three moral Lin Xiaojuns."

Why three?

Because as a duo, their effect was greater than the sum of their parts—a true 1+1>2 situation.

Yu Dong was least familiar with Zhang Yihuai, the leader of the Olympic Sports Center Base. He was a low-key and humble man, but he managed the vast Olympic Sports Center quite well. His base was the closest to the Urban Area, so many people from the surrounding areas had fled there for refuge in the early days.

This was because whenever there had been an earthquake in Yanhai City before, everyone would run to the center. It was large and open, so it had become a habit...

It was also the best place to observe zombie hordes. If there was any major movement in the Urban Area, they would be the first to know, and Zhang Yihuai would alert the other settlements.

These men and their teams were, in fact, just like Yu Dong in his past life. The only difference was that they had only begun their efforts to save themselves and lead others to survive after the apocalypse had already begun.

’If I gave people like them the advantage of foresight... they might do even better than I did.’

In his past life, Ji Luo had made Yu Dong realize that one person’s mind is limited. He couldn’t think of everything on his own; he needed to borrow the minds of others to collectively lay out the grand strategy for Yanhai City.

Everyone in this room had a good head on their shoulders.

Yu Dong only needed to discuss the overarching strategic direction with them. They would then use their own intellect to fill in the rest of the details with brilliant execution.

Yu Dong didn’t need to focus on every single detail.

He just needed to create new Reincarnators.

Yu Dong’s insane idea stunned everyone in the room. Just yesterday, they had been speculating endlessly about Yu Dong’s motives, his vision for the future, and what he would discuss with them today.

Would his plans be noble or despicable? Would he call for sacrifice or promote selfishness? Would the goal be mere survival, or a full-blown counterattack...?

Song Jinchuan was even prepared to offer half of his family’s fortune to support Yu Dong, all in the hope of securing a favorable relationship for the future.

But no one had ever imagined that Yu Dong would directly share half of his experiences from his past life as a Reincarnator, effectively turning them into the next Reincarnators.

The experiences of these first 138 days were already critically important—far more so than the latter half!

Even Ji Luo, who had been somewhat mentally prepared, was floored by Yu Dong’s candor and audacity.

"What a bold and audacious Reincarnator. Yu Dong, you truly delight me..."

After Ji Luo spoke, the others also snapped out of their daze. They looked down again at the [Reincarnator’s Handbook (Part 1)] in their hands and finally understood the meaning of its title.
