Elden Ring: Starting as Melina’s Sister
Ch. 54 Kalé: Group status + 1
Regarding the reader’s reaction about Wilden becoming the male lead…
He’s a good brother, don’t be annoyed.
It’s just like Cyberpunk 2077; if someone writes a female V, does Jack have to be the male lead?

Alright, love you all, here is the main text.
Patches walked forward in a slouched, wobbly manner, as if he had no bones.
It seemed like he was using this way to protest the inhumane treatment he was suffering.
Wilden struck his shoulder hard with the shaft of his spear, which finally made the guy walk a bit more like a human.
Patches looked back resentfully.
“Where are you taking me?”
“I should be the one asking you that,” Mia replied. “Where can you take us?”
“Are you kidding me? I’m the one being escorted here.”
Patches, walking at the front, said discontentedly.
With his hands tied behind his back and walking at the front, any movement of his hands would be seen by Wilden.
He was also surrounded on his sides and front by those strange-looking white wolves.
Now he was the one at the mercy of others.
“I want you to lead the way!” Mia said loudly. “Are there any ruins or anything nearby?”
Hearing the question, Patches, with his back to the group, rolled his eyes around.
“Th-th-th-that… um… you’ve found the wrong Soldier.”
Mia raised an eyebrow. This guy was truly clumsy when lying; his hesitation was visible to the naked eye.
It was only because she was bullying a game character who couldn’t speak that she couldn’t expose him.
However, Mia suddenly felt playful and went along with what Patches said.
“Really?”
“Really, really.” Patches nodded vigorously. “I really don’t know of any ruins around here.”
“Is that so.”
Mia deliberately put on a thoughtful expression.
Patches’ eyes, stealing a glance backward, saw all of this.
“So, please let me go. I’m of no use at all.”
“Hmm.” Mia nodded. “Since you’ve said you’re of no use, I might as well grant you death.”
“Huh?”
“After all, a guy like you is just wasting air by living in this world.” Mia replied coldly. Torrent trotted forward a few steps, and Mia came to Patches’ side. “Anyway, I know the approximate location of those ruins. It might take some time to find them on my own, but it certainly won’t be difficult.”
She slowly drew her golden sword.
Wilden stopped at the perfect moment.
“So, please prepare to die!”
Looking at the golden sword gleaming in broad daylight, Patches dropped to his knees with a thud.
“Wait, wait, wait! I admit it! I admit it! I was lying just now!”
“Hmm?”
Mia’s tone rose slightly.
Patches hurriedly explained, “I know of a few ruins nearby, really!”
“Which ones?” Mia asked unhurriedly.
“Th-th-th…”
This immediately stunned Patches’ bald head.
“Wh-which ones…” Patches’ CPU was running frantically. “There’s a deserted small fishing village, about twenty or thirty miles along the lake from here…”
“That’s not the one I’m looking for,” Mia shook her head. “At least give me something useful to prove your worth, right? Otherwise, I’ll kill you.”
“Then, then… I know another one. Follow the stone path, and there’s a ruin that was supposedly Waystation Street before.”
“That’s the one.”
Mia nodded with satisfaction and sheathed her sword.
Patches, still on the ground, was stunned. He looked up with a ‘Are you kidding me?’ expression. “Didn’t you know the way?”
“Hahaha.” Looking at the guy’s expression, Mia laughed again.
Every time Patches kicked someone off a cliff in the game, he would make that annoying laughing sound.
Now that the roles were reversed, Mia couldn’t hide her own satisfaction.
Facts proved that it wasn’t that Mia didn’t like tricking people.
It was just that she hated being the one who was tricked.
“Get up!” she said to Patches again. “Stop dawdling.”
“Yes, yes.”
Perhaps realizing that Mia was just teasing him and that no one really wanted to kill him.
Patches slowly climbed up.
Under the driving of the three wolves, Patches walked at the front again.
“So why on earth did you capture me?”
Patches’ fingers, tied behind his back, moved around restlessly.
Mia rode Torrent, walking side-by-side with Patches, her tone carrying a touch of the playfulness unique to a young girl.
“I felt like it.”
“Tch… you have a really terrible personality.”
“Do you have the right to say that about me? You’re always thinking about how to kick people off cliffs or how to set traps to scam others, right?”
“What makes you think you know me so well?”
Patches answered unhappily.
Although Mia was right… that condescending tone was really annoying.
“Of course I know you.”
Mia narrowed her eyes and replied, looking into the distance.
“Tch.” Patches pursed his lips. “Forget it, forget it. Let’s pretend what happened before never happened. You’re all safe and sound, so let’s call it even, okay? Just untie me.”
“If I untie you, you’ll definitely go out and harm people again. It’s a huge act of mercy that I haven’t killed a thief like you.”
“I was planning to retire from the life of crime!” Patches argued. “That was our last job. We were going to change careers after this one, but I didn’t expect to lose everything.”
“Sure enough, doing this kind of robbery is extremely dangerous, so I plan to switch to doing business. If you let me go, I won’t hold this against you. When you come to my shop, I’ll give you a discount.”
“What about those little sidekicks of yours?” Mia asked.
“They’re responsible for stocking the goods.”
“So it’s still robbing people of their property, right?” Mia exposed him once again.
“That’s stocking goods, stocking goods. How about it? I’ll give you a special discount later, just let me go.”
Mia clicked her tongue. “Your life is truly miserable. You’re a Tarnished, yet you do this kind of work.”
“…Tch.” Patches made a disdainful sound. “So what if I’m a Tarnished? From the bottom of my heart, I don’t recognize any of that Two Fingers’ guidance, or the guidance of grace, or any of that stuff…”
He observed Mia’s expression.
If Mia didn’t like this topic, he would immediately stop.
But he saw the young girl listening with great interest.
So Patches moistened his throat with saliva. “The Erdtree, Marika… they didn’t ask for my opinion when they brought me to The Lands Between. They just threw me here for no reason and expected me to fight, but I could die at any moment, I have no place to live, and they keep feeding me some pipe dream about becoming the Elden Lord. Who cares about her?”
“So-called big shots are always so annoying. Besides the Tarnished, many of my sidekicks are defeated soldiers of The Lands Between who worked like dogs for some people, only to be tossed aside after being squeezed dry.”
“Everywhere you go, you’re just playing out history repeating itself. What bastards…”
Patches cursed and glanced back.
“And this Mr. Soldier who looks so formidable, you better be careful.” Patches gestured toward Mia with his chin. “Women like this who love to be condescending are very dangerous. When you get thrown away like trash later, don’t… Ouch!”
Wilden struck him with the spear shaft.
