“Leave this place. What I do has nothing to do with you.”

Margit gripped his staff like a sword as he spoke to Wilden and Patches.

It seemed the plan to bluff their way through wasn’t entirely useless; Margit didn’t hold Wilden and Patches responsible by association.

He concentrated all his hostility on Mia alone.

But the response he received was…

Wilden drew his sword and cut the ropes on Patches’ hands.

Mia quickly threw the greatshield and spear to him.

“I’m afraid I cannot comply.”

Wilden raised his dual swords.

“…” Margit watched him, seemingly somewhat surprised.

Surprised that a soldier would block him, and also surprised that…

“Birds of a feather?”

His voice seemed coated in frost.

In the instant of the conversation just now, all three had prepared for battle.

In that case, there was no need for further delay.

The Fell Omen began to stride forward.

Mia also knew the battle could no longer be avoided, so she initiated the attack first.

The glintstone at the tip of the staff in her hand flashed.

Cyan light gathered around Mia.

Compared to when she was ambushed by Roger earlier, Mia had more time to create a more powerful and faster Magic Pebble.

Three magical pebbles condensed in a triangle around Mia.

Margit, before them, simply walked toward the three at a steady pace.

When the cyan light reached its peak, the Magic Pebbles flew toward Margit like arrows from a bow, trailing swift light, while Margit merely swung his staff.

He shattered all the incoming Glintstone Pebbles.

In the next instant, Margit abruptly quickened his pace, sprinting toward the group.

“Watch out!” Mia shouted subconsciously. In a flash, the tall Margit, the Fell Omen had already closed in on Wilden.

Such speed!

Holding his long staff, the Fell Omen swept it toward Wilden from a low stance.

Because Margit was naturally tall, standing upright, he was more than twice Mia’s height.

Even in front of Wilden, the oppressive aura belonging to a powerhouse was by no means lacking.

A martial technique executed with his body was a low stance even for Margit himself.

But the path that staff was swinging along was undoubtedly aimed at Wilden’s chest.

The staff, which appeared to be wooden but was actually as hard as iron—even harder than iron—clashed with Wilden’s crossed twin swords.

The sound was not crisp, for two immense forces controlled both weapons; even upon impact, the sustained pressure left no room for even a sliver of vibration.

Margit’s pupils contracted slightly in surprise.

The twin swords parried the attack, and Wilden retreated a few inches.

That was all.

Despite being much smaller than Margit, Wilden remained like a stubborn rock, blocking the incoming attack before him.

The tenacious straight sword rubbed against the uncompromising cane, emitting a faint, grinding noise.

“If Margit is the name you have declared… then forgive my offense!”

Wilden gave a low shout.

He suddenly lunged forward.

Margit held his staff in his right hand; his first attack was a swing from right to left, and now that the staff was pinned, his front was naturally left unprotected.

The Fell Omen was still surprised that the Royal Army Soldier before him possessed such great strength.

Seeing Wilden take the initiative to advance, he immediately leapt backward.

The sufficiently long staff gave him plenty of reaction time.

“From your tone, you seem familiar with me?”

His yellow robes fluttering, the Fell Omen landed with a lightness that absolutely did not match his physique.

Still as a maiden, swift as a rabbit. Margit could descend from the sky with an overwhelming presence, yet also land as silently as a moth.

This was, naturally, a manifestation of his strength.

“No.”

Wilden took the initiative to step forward.

Several wolf howls came from behind him. Mia had not been idle while the two entered combat; she summoned the Spirit Wolves from the ashes again.

“Go!” Mia shouted, and then a golden light appeared on her body.

The grace and favor of the Erdtree were displayed once more.

It had been a long time since Mia had used a Prayer.

“Margit!”

Once the light and sigil appeared, Mia shouted toward Margit.

She, of course, knew Margit’s identity.

Calling himself the Fell Omen, but in truth, he was the last king of the Golden Order.

Morgott.

But Mia did not expose him, instead addressing him by the name Morgott was currently using.

The reason Morgott used a pseudonym was because the horns and long tail growing from his body were seen as a foul curse by the people of the Erdtree; Morgott never showed himself while acting as King, and if he had to appear, he did so under the name of Margit, the Fell Omen.

Morgott was a Shardbearer occupying the royal capital, Leyndell, beneath the Erdtree.

Naturally, he was also a demigod, the younger brother of the first to perish, Godwyn. He had held the Golden Capital since the start of the Shattering, guarding the Erdtree which had already rejected everyone and was moving toward decay.

Just like Godrick, he was a tragic figure.

But at the same time, logically speaking, he should be considered Mia’s brother…

Mia didn’t know if releasing the power of grace could make him calm down a bit and show that she wasn’t an enemy who wanted to fight him to the death.

Margit saw those two rays of light.

But what Mia miscalculated was that seeing that light filled Margit with smoldering rage.

“Shameless!”

He roared in anger and threw a throwing knife with a flick of his hand.

“You—” Mia didn’t have time to say more.

The throwing knife arrived in an instant, much faster and more sudden than the first attack.

For this strike, Margit must have used eighty or ninety percent of his strength.

“Wait—”

When a Soldier encounters a sudden attack, the subconscious reaction is to reach out and block.

A Glintstone magic screen appeared; the golden dagger pierced halfway through, and the magic screen shattered like glass.

A second throwing knife followed immediately. Mia channeled her magic and leapt lightly.

Margit charged, targeting Mia.

Of course, Wilden was there to block him.

An unexpected turn of events had occurred; she had thought the power of the Erdtree would be a bargaining chip for negotiating with Margit, but she hadn’t expected it to provoke him to such an extent instead.

To buy time, the girl laid down a Fire Wall in the path of Margit’s advance.

Wilden, prepared to receive Margit’s attack, was stunned by the Fire Wall that suddenly ignited in front of him, obscuring his vision.

“What are you doing!”

The soldier suddenly questioned loudly, “I’ve lost sight of him!”

This was an extremely fatal mistake in battle, to the point that in his urgency and shock, he even threw away his usual respect for Mia.

In the nick of time, a dark shadow flew up from behind the Fire Wall.

Margit held a massive golden hammer in his left hand; as he leapt, he smashed it down fiercely toward Mia.

Boom—

In an instant, Mia transformed into blue starlight, evading the earthquake-like impact.

But Patches, who was beside Mia, was not so lucky.

Although the great hammer didn’t land directly on him, the massive shock and airflow still sent him flying backward.

The entire bridge was vibrating.

Mia appeared before Morgott, panting.

The strategic error of releasing the Fire Wall just now had ultimately been paid for by herself; if her speed in channeling magic hadn’t been fast enough, she would be on her way to resurrection right now.

“Calm down!”

The girl leaned on her staff, shouting at him with all her might.

The only response was Morgott’s frost-cold face and the staff whistling down vertically.

Mia was forced to jump back again.

She had absolutely no confidence in being able to defend against Morgott’s attacks; she had never tried.

From beginning to end, her fighting style was not to hack at enemies face-to-face; besides the sword, Prayers and staves were her primary tools of combat.

Margit’s attack range was extremely wide; holding the end of the staff—which was as tall as he was—with one hand, he launched attacks at Mia with powerful yet unornamental swordsmanship.
