Elder Kinston's Exclusive Sweet Wife
Chapter 1602 - 1644: Knowing
On Levi’s face, there remained no reaction, as if he was completely uninterested in getting closer to Mabel.
Mabel also didn’t mind, inviting Daniel and his son into the living room, and then instructed the servant to make some tea and prepare some snacks that children love.
"Where’s Kyle? Isn’t he at home?" Daniel asked after sitting down.
"He’s at the Hospital with my father, watching the surveillance screens. He was worried I’d get too tired because I’m pregnant, so he sent me back first," said Mabel, feeling at ease because Kyle was there.
"Watching surveillance?" Daniel was taken aback.
"My father said he saw my mother at the Hospital, but unfortunately missed her. At that time, he didn’t catch up with her, so he’s hoping to find some clues from the surveillance," said Mabel.
Regarding the matter of Mabel’s biological mother, Daniel knew a little, "If there’s anything I can do to help, please let me know."
"Thank you," Mabel said.
Just then, Amelia brought Harper into the living room. The little one was very happy to bounce over when she saw Mabel, but just before reaching her, she suddenly stopped abruptly.
"What’s wrong?" Mabel asked in surprise.
"Godmother said, mommy has a baby in her tummy, so Ivy has to be careful not to bump into mommy’s tummy," the little one said seriously, clearly having been repeatedly told by Amelia, enabling her to say it so fluently now.
Mabel knew this was Amelia’s attentiveness, fearing that the little one might stumble and cause some accident. So she said, "Godmother is right. So when we hug, let’s be gentle." Saying that, she opened her arms and hugged her daughter.
The little one giggled, placing a small hand gently on Mabel’s belly, murmuring, "Baby be good, Ivy be good too."
"Alright, this is Uncle Daniel. Ivy, say hi to Uncle Daniel," Mabel told her daughter as she encouraged her to greet him.
"Uncle?" The little one tilted her head, looking at Daniel with a full sense of unfamiliarity.
Daniel was startled, feeling that the little person in front of him was different from the lively, smart child he remembered. Her eyes lacked the sparkle they once had, and earlier, Mabel called her Ivy instead of Harper, which was even more peculiar.
"What happened to Ivy?" Daniel couldn’t help but ask.
"She got a bit of an injury, leaving her with some aftereffects, so..." Mabel then briefly explained the little one’s injury to Daniel.
After knowing, Daniel looked at Harper with even more love and pity in his eyes, just a child, yet suffering so much.
"Then why call her Ivy?" he asked again.
"She only responds to the name Ivy now," Mabel chuckled lightly, but whether Ivy or Harper, she was her precious daughter.
"Ivy, I’m Uncle Daniel, a friend of your mommy’s. I didn’t bring much today, but here, this is for you," Daniel said, taking out a box from his pocket.
Inside the box was a four-leaf clover hair accessory, carved from a green gemstone into the shape of a four-leaf clover, adorned with diamonds, quite valuable.
