Elder Kinston's Exclusive Sweet Wife

Chapter 1612: Getting Along Well

  • Next Chapter

“Just Kyle and me.” Mabel Quinn said, “Why are you suddenly asking about this, did something happen?”

“I’m not sure what exactly happened, but I’ll tell you when I figure it out,” Daniel Harris replied. After all, he still couldn’t be certain if the badge that Grace Yowell got luck from was indeed Mabel’s badge?

If it is, then it would mean that Mabel might actually be the young lady of the Landon Family?! And Grace Yowell has once again usurped Mabel’s identity!

If not, he wouldn’t want Mabel’s emotions to fluctuate too much now, considering she’s expecting. Too much hope only to be met with disappointment could affect the child she’s carrying.

For now, he still had one more thing to do, which was to find the designs he had drawn up when he ordered the creation of the badge years ago and confirm with Old Master Landon.

If it truly was the same badge, then the truth would naturally come to light. At that time, as long as Mabel and Mrs. Landon did a DNA comparison, it could be confirmed if Mabel was indeed a child of the Landon Family.

On the other end of the call, Mabel Quinn hung up, and Kyle Kinston, beside her, asked, “Who’s on the phone?”

“It was Daniel,” Mabel replied. “He was asking about the badge from years back.”

“Oh?” Kyle slightly furrowed his brows, “What’s up with the badge?”

“He didn’t say. He just said he’s not sure, and he’ll tell me once he’s certain,” Mabel shrugged, unsure of what Daniel was trying to figure out, “Never mind, I’ll just wait for him to tell me once he’s got something.”

Kyle smiled, “He brought his son here today? His son seems to get along quite well with our Ivy.” After all, as soon as he got home, his daughter wouldn’t stop mentioning “Levi, Levi,” it was hard not to notice.

“The kid is actually quite pitiful,” Mabel said. “Maybe because of his childhood experiences, he doesn’t talk much and is quite aloof, but it’s rare that he gets along with Ivy. If there’s a chance in the future, they could often play together.”

Speaking of that, Mabel thought about her father in the hospital, “By the way, how’s Dad doing?”

“Same as ever, but he’s still watching all those surveillance videos in the room every day, trying to find your mother,” Kyle said. Yet so far, they’ve found nothing, “He’s quite cooperative with the treatment, but I’m worried it’s not his body that won’t hold up, but his eyes.”

Mabel couldn’t do anything about it; she knew her father missed her mother terribly. Now that there’s a sliver of a chance to find her, how could he easily give up? He probably wished he could watch those videos every second of the day without rest, hoping to find her tracks.

But what she’s most worried about is… “If it’s just about fearing he’d missee, and in the end, finds nothing, then Dad… wouldn’t he be too disappointed?”

She’s worried that her father’s body won’t endure the blow of such disappointment.

“Then at that point, you’ll just have to guide your father through it again,” Kyle said.

“Yes, that’s all we can do,” Mabel sighed, “If only we could truly find Mom, that would be wonderful.” To her, she never experienced motherly love. Although her adoptive father treated her well, her adoptive mother never welcomed her, and later on, all the coercion and frame-ups seemed like a nightmare.
