Endless Debt
Chapter 1516 - 67: Infinite Deduction_2
Holt focused his ether, initiating wave after wave of breakthroughs, breaching the Speaker’s Ethereum Mutual Exclusion until he reached his body.
Secret Energy·Amber.
Suddenly, the Speaker’s body rapidly stiffened, as if they were generals commanding thousands. If ether could be materialized into arranged soldiers, it would be clear to observe that Holt’s army broke through the Speaker’s defenses, pursuing and slaughtering the defeated soldiers.
The Speaker was completely immobilized in place, with even his ether gradually slipping out of control, yet he wasn’t panicked, merely displaying that ugly smile as he sized up Holt.
A deep and distant rumble sounded from behind Holt, revealing a giant python emerging rapidly and coiling around him, opening its bloody maw, attempting to devour him.
Behind the giant snake, Siti used all her strength to move her body, trying to break through Holt’s constraints and launch a new attack.
Holt’s offensive was interrupted, and the Speaker shouted gleefully, "Perfect timing!"
Through Time Reversal, the Speaker’s battle with Holt resembled the calculation on a black and white chessboard, allowing him unlimited tries to gather any information beneficial to him and find victory according to the trajectory of each move.
The current attack was something the Speaker had seen several times; he had long calculated that Siti would break free of control at this moment, interfering with Holt’s attack. He also knew that Holt would then smash the giant snake with a punch, continuing to attack him.
The Speaker saw that Holt first executed a feigned attack, then closed in on him at the cost of injury, with the true killer move being a blast unleashed once his ether was fully charged. That attack would trigger a pure torrent of ether, sufficient to blast the Speaker’s body to dust.
At this moment, in the Speaker’s eyes, all possible futures were events that had already occurred.
"Prepare to die!"
Holt roared, smashing the giant snake into obliterated ether, just as it played out countless times before. Holt executed a series of actions according to the past trajectory.
Approach, feign attack.
Under the influence of the slowing effect, the Speaker’s speed was not fast, perhaps even clumsy, yet this clumsy movement easily dodged all of Holt’s heavy strikes.
A vast amount of ether converged toward Holt. The Speaker knew that Holt was about to attempt that deadly strike.
In the last loop, it was during this strike that the Speaker fell. Now the future had reached the past’s end, and the Speaker once again sought to change destiny.
The Speaker squinted, fantasizing, imagining himself wielding the power of the Void Spirit School as well as the Commanding School, able not only to shatter others’ consciousnesses from a distance but also crush their skulls along with them.
The Fantasy Species that covered the Speaker’s body twisted and writhed, densely packed, until one dried up completely, as if exhausted of power. Now another Fantasy Species was withering, while at the same time, the Power of Illusion Creation beyond Secret Energy’s limit was bestowed upon the Speaker.
Excruciating pain spread through Holt’s mind like countless worms gnawing viciously. He was certain this was an attack from the Void Spirit School, but he couldn’t fathom its origin since the etheric response indicated only the presence of the three of them. Where could this peculiar attack have come from?
His consciousness throbbed, causing disruptions to the ether’s gathering, with the highly condensed power gradually spiraling out of control, materializing into blinding lightning that shattered the floor on one side.
Holt gasped in agony. Before he could take further action, a horrifying pressure descended upon his head as though invisible giant hands were attempting to crush his skull.
The sound of rushing blood clearly echoed by his ears, accompanied by the light crackling of bones breaking inch by inch. Holt’s eyes were bloodshot, and murky air surged through his throat.
The gathered ether spiraled completely out of control, the radiant aura fully engulfing Holt.
"Hahaha!"
The Speaker laughed loudly, but in the next second, amidst the lethal ether stream, Holt’s blood-stained face emerged. With ghostly swiftness, he reached the Speaker and the remaining ether erupted completely, piercing a gap through the Speaker’s Ethereal Barrier.
In this brief opening, Holt grabbed the Speaker’s throat firmly, without wasting a word. His five fingers plunged into the flesh like knives, shredding the throat completely, and immediately drove his hand-knife straight into the chest, annihilating the Speaker’s heart and spine.
In almost the blink of an eye, the Speaker’s body was ravaged by Holt beyond recognition, like a torn rag.
"You’re tougher than I thought."
The Speaker stifled his laughter, thinking he could kill Holt in this Time Reversal.
Without a word, Holt endured the searing pain in his body, dropping a hammer-like punch, crushing the Speaker’s skull.
Time’s ripples emanated from the Speaker’s body, bursting forth, and anything touched by the ripples reversed along the timeline, even including Holt himself.
"I see now..."
Holt’s body lost control, only able to blankly observe himself continuously retreat and reset, like a restarted chess game, with all pieces placed back at their initial positions.
"No wonder you could foresee my moves," Holt murmured, "This has all happened before."
The Speaker nodded, smiling, "Do you think you can survive the next Time Reversal?"
Through repeated reversals, the Speaker gradually found the path to victory. As long as everything proceeded according to his pre-enacted plan, he would avoid Holt’s series of attacks like a prophet and counter him at the key moment.
As for the Fantasy Species consumed in this battle, the Speaker felt no regret. He could completely replenish them with Holt, which was exactly the purpose of the Nest Core’s existence.
The Nest Core was not only the residence of the Ancestral Council but also the Fantasy Species’ domain. In this Earthly Celestial Kingdom, all Legislators would achieve immortality.
As for maintaining this Earthly Celestial Kingdom, the cost was actually simple: just use the Nest Core’s transformation ritual to mutate Holt into a Fantasy Species.
With this thought, the Speaker glanced upward at the Crystal Beehive overhead, where some curled figures had already stopped writhing. Like metamorphosing insects, their bodies would gradually shrivel and shrink in the not distant future, until they transformed into brand new Fantasy Species.
"See you in the next Reversal."
The Speaker greeted Holt, speaking with extreme derision.
Time’s ripples engulfed everything within the Nest Core, returning all things to their point of origin.
Holt stood before the Speaker, uttering those long-repeated words.
"So... if I kill you, I can completely incapacitate the All Secrets Order, right?"
This time, the Speaker joyfully responded, "Of course."
Ether surged furiously between the two like a roaring volcano, on the verge of unleashing an apocalyptic scene. At this sharp critical moment, abrupt footsteps echoed from afar.
Holt glanced back in confusion, while the Speaker’s expression instantly turned grave.
Evidently, this series of temporal disordering was confined to the battle between the Speaker and Holt. Should external forces interfere, the Speaker’s previous "foresights" would falter, and he would have to begin anew, deducing the battle.
There was no absolute perfect power in the world, and the Speaker was no exception. Even possessing so many Fantasy Species, he had a fatal flaw, yet under the influence of Time Reversal, Holt had never had a chance to discover it.
The Speaker commanded to Siti, "Siti!"
Merely calling her name, yet the meaning was unmistakably clear.
Siti hesitated at the edge of the Nest Core, clearly aware of her Alchemy Matrix’s aging. She knew that as long as she remained within the Nest Core’s range, she stood within the Earthly Celestial Kingdom, enjoying the privilege of immortality. However, once she stepped out...
Jiru’s news of death echoed in her ears.
"Siti!"
The Speaker urged again. He hadn’t expected Siti to refuse his orders... perhaps he had never realized how deeply these people feared death.
They had been surviving ignobly for so long, even just hearing Death God’s name would make them tremble unceasingly, tearfully overwhelmed, even while wielding power beyond most others.
Siti mustered her courage, ready to intercept the enemy, but by then, it was already too late.
The Nest Core’s door was forcefully kicked open, and a gust of strong air, laden with the stench of blood, rushed into the room.
"Am I late?"
Bologue cast a glance at the Speaker, then looked at Holt. He raised his Wrath Bite, fingers gently gripping the Vengeful Saw Axe’s handle.
The deadly duel was about to begin.
