Endless Debt

Chapter 1628 - 120: Undead Legion

On top of the gradually collapsing temporary High Tower, Bologue fell freely towards the earth, Ether transformed into fuel, causing the blazing light to burn more vigorously, until the fireball continually expanded, exploded into countless falling Fire Meteors.

A few seconds later, dense explosions sounded. Bologue seemed like a professional director, with every development of the situation under the control of his pre-set storyboard.

The high-temperature and high-pressure explosion shockwaves overturned Heartless one by one and burned thorn bushes into ashes in multiple areas. The light blaze spread recklessly, like a wildfire sweeping through the wasteland. In an instant, everything in sight was that pure flame, hard to extinguish.

Upon landing, Bologue’s body spun rapidly, much like a dance. Deceitful Snake Scale Liquid condensed into sharp, rough Long Spears, continuously shooting at the shimmering figures in the sea of fire, with the clanging sound of collisions echoing like crisp piano keys.

"Olivia!"

Shouting Olivia’s name, Bologue’s shadow beneath him churned and expanded, transforming the area he was in into pitch-black shadow land.

In the shadows, countless pitch-black arms stretched out, some slender like human limbs, others fierce and strange, covered in spikes, resembling a monster’s projection.

They danced wildly around Bologue like seaweed, entangling, slowing down the Heartless rushing from the sea of fire, before Bologue leapt up, swinging the Sword Axe, splitting their heads in two.

The ground trembled and cracked, the rolling thorns attacked Bologue like venomous snakes. From beginning to end, York’s target was always Bologue, the slaughter of Heartless merely destroyed obstacles.

Before Bologue could counterattack, shadows churned out sharp Shadow Blades, effortlessly chopping the thorns into fragments, but at this moment another Heartless had emerged from the fiery sea—it was Oken, raising a sharp Giant Sword like a guillotine, it fell overhead.

Bologue intended to sidestep but the previously shattered thorns once more writhed, growing madly, intertwining together, transforming into a cage filled with spikes, completely enclosing Bologue.

This was an inescapable doom, certain death, but in the next second, boiling shadows enveloped Bologue, Olivia’s assistance was always so timely, wrapping Bologue into shadow space, easily slipping through the cage’s crevices.

Oken directly collided with the thorn cage, the Giant Sword fused with flesh and bone severed a string of thorns. Similarly, Oken’s body was pierced by countless thorns, as if facing a lethal rain of arrows, filled with sharp arrowheads all over.

The shadows enveloping Bologue burst like a bubble beside Oken. Bologue appeared immediately, panting heavily.

"How about our coordination?"

Olivia’s voice seeking credit came from the shadows, despite cursing Serey, since Serey’s arrival her mood had evidently relaxed exponentially.

Bologue concisely evaluated, "Not bad."

The golden halo radiated in Bologue’s pupils, Aimou’s assistance operating within Bologue, like an intelligent processing core, optimizing Bologue’s Ether pathways, allowing every bit and piece of Ether to be perfectly utilized.

More and more pitch-black figures emerged beyond the fiery sea. It was only then that Bologue had the capacity to survey the hellscape he had created.

Burn.

The Butcher’s Pit burned fully, under the light of the flames the mountain of bodies appeared especially terrifying.

The light blaze scorched the bodies, skin and flesh on the surface gradually blackening under high temperatures, as the fire intensifies, bodies gradually carbonize, becoming hard and brittle, sizzling sounds of burning came from all directions, like haunting lamentations of glacial collapse.

The acrid smoke and foul stench lingered at the nose’s tip, most people would abhor this sensation, but Bologue adapted quickly, even recalling the past of Scorched Earth Wrath.

"How strange indeed."

Bologue soliloquized, "Obviously everything has changed, yet it’s as if nothing has truly been altered."

The burning hellscape before him was once Bologue’s everyday reality, thinking that war was sufficient to end all wars, but in reality, it was only a beginning.

Scorched Earth Wrath changed nothing.

Bologue couldn’t help but feel melancholic, would those soldiers who fought recklessly realize their blood and tears were all in vain?

Or should one be thankful, thankful those firsthand experiencers were long gone, closing their eyes with contentment, honors on their chest, believing they had changed the world.

The blaze flickered red illuminating Bologue, Heartless, thorns, corpses, blood ocean, everything reflected blood-red, even the dim sky caught fire.

Bologue heard cries of terror, cries of despair, vaguely seeing some people kneeling in hopelessness because of the inability to escape, pleading for divine salvation.

Bloodfolk? Bloodthirsty? Or Low Tier Night Race?

Bologue couldn’t discern, in this hellscape no one can remain detached, nor did he have extra empathy to spare for others.

"Do you believe we can win?"

After the cheers, Olivia also faced the harsh reality, just Heartless and York were already obstructing them, not to mention facing the Regent King and Night King thereafter.
