Chapter 2054: Her and His Battles (Part 2)

Crack.

Silvana plunged the energy blade straight into the Prime Stone Goliath’s chest, piercing the massive monster’s energy core.

The Prime Stone Goliath collapsed to the ground while Silvana panted heavily.

By comparison, the battle against the Silver Weaver and the Electric Eel had been a walk in the park.

Now, she didn’t just have to land a few attacks. She also had to maneuver across the battlefield, dodge the rocks flying at her, which could have turned her into ground meat, and find a way to reach the Prime Stone Goliath and finally kill it.

What’s more, she had neither the lance she’d used to kill the first two monsters nor Adam’s abilities. She had to create her own.

“Ahg… Ahg… Ahg…” Silvana was breathing heavily as she stood on the chest of the enormous dead monster.

She knew what was about to happen, and she was eagerly awaiting it.

Tremble. Tremble. Tremble.

More than a dozen Stone Goliaths rose in the distance. Monsters that large would need only a few steps to reach Silvana.

But she didn’t look at them. Instead, she turned around and looked up.

Soon, a blue flash streaked across the sky, and a giant azure spear crashed down on the Goliaths, reducing the monsters to nothing.

“Frida… Huh, I finally got to see this from Adam’s point of view. And not just that…”

Silvana’s eyes reflected the desert dunes, among which lay blown-up trucks and scattered corpses. Some had suffered a single critical wound and died instantly, while others had been torn to pieces by the monsters, who were still doing so even now.

Silvana blinked as streams of energy in front of her formed a large stone fist.

“I’m ready to move on.”

Soon, Silvana was transported to the next location, but her heart no longer pounded with fear.

She was calm, not because she had gained the same confidence Adam had, but because she knew that the next few monsters were no match for her.

She would handle each of them without much trouble.

What Silvana was really waiting for was yet to come: several particularly important monsters that had become the foundation of Adam’s path.

…

Silvana had already spent over an hour in the memory space.

Time passed differently for her, since the fights usually lasted only a few minutes. However, the Lost Sun and Lost Moon could barely keep up with even that pace. They couldn’t slow the passage of time for Silvana any further.

Even with Gladius’s help, no one was sure that 12 hours would be enough for Silvana to get through all the important battles.

However, unlike the two artifacts, Gladius had no doubts about this matter.

“Hey, Moon, you should’ve figured this out by now, right? Considering how many battles Adam had, Silvana will only be able to get through them all if she doesn’t lose a single one, right?”

The Lost Moon nodded.

“If these were real fights, she wouldn’t stand a chance, but these are just memories, albeit very realistic ones. What matters isn’t your raw power, but your drive to win. That’s what sets her apart from Adam.”

Clutch.

Gladius squeezed The Lost Moon’s shoulder tighter, making her frown.

“Good. Huh, if you knew what I know, you’d want her to succeed, too.”

“Hmm?” The Lost Sun turned around. “What are you talking about?”

Gladius smirked.

“I can feel it. Adam passed Relana’s trial by breaking her rules. And… You both know how strict she is about her rules.”

Even the two artifacts that had survived several World Wipes were speechless.

“By the time Adam recovers and comes to his senses, Silvana will have seen all of his battles.”

…

One battle followed another, and even the Essence Thunder Demon, the Steel Knight, and the North Keeper were no match for her.

Sure, a single energy blade wasn’t enough to take them on, so Silvana created an outfit suited for battle.

In her hands were blades that could become battle scissors at any moment. On her feet were tall boots that gave her speed, and on her back were several energy cores arranged in wing patterns. Their purpose was to release energy to create protective barriers.

If she’d had more time, she would have devised a more complex ability, but the only time she had was the breaks between battles and her opponents’ attacks.

Moreover, all she could think about right now wasn’t her blades and abilities, but the opponent waiting for her ahead.

She stood alone in the middle of the Fume Cathedral.

This memory was constructed in such a way that neither Osana nor her squads, nor the cathedral’s knights, were present here.

The only one here besides her was a short monster, slightly shorter than a human, sitting on a grand stone throne with one leg crossed over the other.

Thump. Thump. Thump.

Silvana’s heart trembled as she looked at the Plague Reaper, at his calm, soulless eyes, which knew he could not lose.

Back then, Adam and Silvana knew too little, but now they understood that a monster like the Plague Reaper had the potential to reach the Lord Level.

It was quite possible that if Adam hadn’t killed the Plague Reaper, one day he would have reached the same power level as Durand, whom Kamora had killed. After all, their abilities were similar, and to some extent, the Plague Reaper was even stronger.

“He killed hundreds of monsters before coming here, and all he had to do was spread his plague through the air. Good – once I kill him, nothing will stop me.”

Silvana crouched, forcing the Plague Reaper to assume a fighting stance.

“Adam, I’ll prove to you that I understand you! I’ll be just as much of a warrior as you are and earn my place on the battlefield right beside you!”

In the next moment, the Plague Reaper’s scythe and Silvana’s blades clashed as sparks flew before her eyes.

To some extent, this was the most important battle, because if she defeated him, she would be able to handle everyone else as well.
