Endless Extraction in a Game-Like World
Chapter 426: Taking Over, Going Live
He kept the body from falling toward the ground and raised his free hand.
[Talent Activated: Endless Extraction.]
Light flowed from the corpse into his palm. A notification appeared a moment later, bringing a wide smile to his face.
[Ding! You have obtained Sovereign Discount.]
[Rank: Lower S-Rank.]
[Effect: Receive a 67% discount on everything.]
"Oh, I’m going to enjoy this."
Sylvia leaned closer to read the description.
"Try not to spend everything just because it’s cheaper now."
Caelus looked at her with an innocent expression.
"I haven’t even bought anything yet."
"I know how you are like when you find something new." Sylvia rolled her eyes.
She touched the dead guard’s armor as dark energy spread from her fingers.
[Skill Activated: Death Summons.]
His shadow rose from the body and took the shape of an armored man. A spear formed in his hand before he knelt before Sylvia.
She checked his abilities and glanced at Caelus.
"He still has Sovereign Discount. Phew."
Sylvia said with a satisfied look and spoke up.
"Activate your talent and make a shield."
[Talent Activated: Sovereign Discount.]
[Skill Activated: Layered Bastion.]
Three dark shields formed around the kneeling figure. Sylvia checked the cost before dismissing them with a pleased smile.
"It works just as well as before."
Caelus looked down at the remaining guards, who had finally lowered their weapons.
"By the way, Sylvia can your summons remember their past memories?"
Sylvia shook her head. "Nope, if they do, won’t they become our enemies because of killing them?"
"Oh yeah." Caelus nodded. He was rather curious about this infiltration, but whatever, they were strong now. No one could stop them in their tracks!
No one tried to stop them from entering the dock after that.
Caelus used Alaric’s ship to access the territory records while Sylvia stood beside him. Roughly ten million people lived on the asteroid, making the organization rather small compared to the territories they already controlled.
He contacted John and arranged for trusted recruiters to help with the transfer. Once the local officials gathered, he addressed them and the workers waiting nearby.
"Everyone living here will apply to the Chaos Faction. Those who pass the screening will receive the benefits that come with joining."
A dock worker raised his hand and glanced toward the officers behind him.
"What happens to the people who fail?"
"They won’t join obviously. If you have a good attitude you can easily get in."
By the time the screening finished, eight million people had passed. The remaining two million had failed the alignment requirement.
Alaric had certainly gathered his share of unpleasant people.
[New Chaos Faction Members: 8,001,243.]
[Faith Power gained: 35,030,345.]
While the new members were receiving their faction benefits, three elders sat around a table in a distant galaxy.
The eldest set down his cup and checked the white platform standing between them. Golden symbols covered its surface, linking the Olympian Faction headquarters to the lords they served above.
"It’s time. Our lords should be sending today’s Faith Power."
One elder opened the storage interface while the other placed a hand against the platform. The symbols lit up as the connection formed, but nothing appeared above them.
The eldest waited a little longer before leaning forward.
"Has the transfer started on their side?"
"I’m not receiving anything."
"Check the formation before you contact them. We shouldn’t trouble the lords over a fault on our end."
His companion passed a hand over the symbols and frowned.
"There’s nothing wrong with it. The connection is open."
The eldest set his cup farther away.
"Then ask whether we should continue waiting."
A thin line of light rose above the platform. It shook before breaking into uneven letters.
KRRZT!
[H-HJeavenly...WEEjwedwe... krr...]
All three elders leaned toward the message as the letters scattered.
"Heavenly?" The eldest reached toward the platform. "What do you mean by Heavenly?"
Another burst of noise cut through the room.
"Please repeat the message. We can’t understand you."
CRACK!
The connection vanished, leaving the platform dark.
The eldest kept his hand above it for several seconds before withdrawing. One of his companions tried to reopen the link, but the symbols failed to light.
"That didn’t sound like a normal transmission error."
"No." The eldest rose from his seat and looked at the other two. "It seems something has happened in the God Domain."
...
By the time Caelus and Sylvia returned to the Star King World, John’s recruiters had taken over the remaining work on the asteroid.
They left the ship in orbit and descended together. The world spread beneath them far beyond the horizon, reminding Caelus how little of it he had actually visited.
A planet larger than stars had room for far more than a few powerful factions.
He looked toward the distant territories and smiled.
"Okay, I’m going to take over this planet now."
Sylvia turned to him without letting go of his hand.
"Should I warn John first? He’s still dealing with the last place you took over."
"Tell him he’ll need more recruiters."
A cold breeze brushed against them before Glaciana rose into view. She stopped a short distance away and looked between them with her brows drawn together.
"Both of you... How did you grow this much stronger already?"
Caelus greeted her with a small wave.
"It’s good to see you too."
"I felt the attack on Genesis Kingdom. That was a Level 10 Origin Lord, and you defeated him before anyone could even reach you."
"He wasn’t willing to wait for an appointment and we deal with rule breakers very harshly. What can I say."
Glaciana barely reacted to the joke as she studied him.
"With strength like this, no one in the Star King World will be able to stop you."
"That should make things easier."
"What exactly are you planning now?"
"I want to bring the world under one rule."
Her expression changed, so he continued before she could speak.
"You helped us when we first arrived. I haven’t forgotten that, and neither you nor your people have anything to fear from us."
At that time, several powerful auras approached before Glaciana could answer.
Caelus turned as six figures came into view. The first wore the Olympian Faction’s symbol, while the Kemisist Overseer flew beside him.
The others spread out behind them as they stopped.
"You attacked an organization under our protection." The Olympian Overseer of the Star King World pointed at Caelus. "Do you think you can kill Lord Alaric and simply return here?"
"Considering that I’m here, the answer should be pretty obvious. Right?"
"Lord Alaric was an official Lord of the Olympian Faction!"
"He should have remembered that before trying to flatten my kingdom."
The Kemisist Overseer moved forward beside his companion.
"Don’t get carried away because you defeated one Origin Lord. You have no idea who you’re dealing with."
Caelus looked over the gathered Overseers before opening the Origin Network.
This was rather convenient.
If he defeated them in front of everyone, he could save himself quite a few trips.

He selected the Star King World channel and entered a title.
[New Management Dealing With The Small Fries.]
Sylvia glanced at the window and gave him an amused look seeing the title.
