Chapter 830: It’s The Face

  • Next Chapter

It had been a while since Alex and his classmates had attended a student assembly.

The academy only held one whenever the Headmaster would share important news.

In the last assembly, he announced the exchange student program between the Kingdom of Solara and the Kingdom of Faelarun.

It was also held a week before the Inter-Academy Tournament, so the students could cheer for the representatives that would head to the Elven Kingdom to represent their academy.

Since everyone had been gathered in one place, students started to casually chat with each other while waiting for the Headmaster to arrive.

A few minutes later, the members of the Student Council made their appearance.

Theo Asborne and his secretary, Cassandra Wales, stood on the stage and faced the entire student body of Frieden Academy.

"The Headmaster suddenly had an urgent meeting, so he asked me to inform all of you about the exchange student program that will take place in a few weeks."

"Hah? Another exchange student program?"

"Will the elves return? Damn... this is destiny telling me that I’m going to have an elven wife."

"Dude, just look at your face. You look like a sardine. Can you stop being delusional?"

"What did you say?! If that womanizer Alex can marry the two elven princesses, why can’t I marry an ordinary elf?"

"Dude. Like I said, it’s the face! If you want to even have a small chance at marrying an elf, then drink a face-changing potion or something."

The other students were also confused, but some were already thinking that this was a very good opportunity to form connections with the Kingdom of Solara and the Kingdom of Faelarun.

However, Theo’s next words made them understand that it wasn’t their neighbors who would be coming to the academy.

"The students who will stay for a while in the academy will hail from the Aetherion Empire," Theo declared. "As you may already know, the Aetherion Empire is the strongest empire in the continent. I hope everyone will be on their best behavior when they arrive here."

"What?! The Aetherion Empire?!"

"Wow! Big shots are coming!"

"Nice! I heard that the ladies that live in that cold place are very hot~"

"This is fate telling me that I’m bound to marry a noble from the Aetherion Empire!"

"Dude. There you go again. Can you just stop it, please?!"

While the students were starting to become rowdy after knowing where the exchange students would come from, there were people who looked genuinely surprised... and perhaps alarmed as well.

Evangeline and Astrea both looked at Alex at the same time.

The young man glanced at the two of them before giving them a nod of acknowledgment.

Alex couldn’t take this news lightly.

’Why are they sending students here?’ Alex frowned. ’This didn’t happen in the game.’

Indeed. This never happened in the game.

Why? Because in the game, the prophesied prince of the Aetherion Empire, Aetherius Alexian Vademont, was dead.

There was no need for the Aetherion Empire to pay attention to Frieden Academy.

If not for the prophecy, they wouldn’t have even bothered to send their Crown Prince, as well as their noble students, to infiltrate the academy’s student body and find information on the prince they were looking for.

"We still don’t know who will come to visit." Theo raised his voice, making everyone stop talking with each other at once. "However, according to what I’ve gathered, they will send their elites here."

The student council president fixed his glasses using his middle finger.

"Perhaps they had come to compare themselves to our students," Theo stated. "As such, none of you are allowed to lose in any competition. Also, I will put a suggestion box near the student council’s office.

"If you have a good idea as to how we could impress our guests or let them realize that our academy is better than theirs, feel free to place your suggestions. We still have time to prepare special events for our guests."

The fairies, who happened to also attend the student assembly, started whispering with each other.

"How about a special live concert performance?" Doh asked. "They will be all trapped—errr, invited to a closed room and let Alex serenade them with a song?"

"Brilliant idea!" Reh clapped her hands. "We’re definitely going to write that down!"

All the fairies liked this idea very much, so they decided that they would write different letters and put it into the suggestion box.

The student assembly ended after an hour, and soon, everyone returned to their respective classrooms.

"What’s wrong, Alex?" Chuck asked. "Are you thinking about the exchange program?"

"A little," Alex admitted.

Chuck blinked before his expression turned into disbelief. "Hey, you’re not planning to have another lover from the Aetherion Empire, right? Man, you already have so many lovers. Can your stamina even keep up with them?"

Alex’s roommate was talking from experience. He had three lovers so sometimes, he even needed to drink stamina potions just to satisfy the three of them.

"Of course not." Alex didn’t know whether he should laugh or cry because his friend was thinking of something that never crossed his mind. "Do I look like a womanizer to you?"

Chuck wanted to roll his eyes at his friend’s comeback. Everyone in the academy already knew how many lovers he had.

If that wasn’t called being a womanizer, then what else could it be?

The recent rumors about the two elven princesses being engaged to Alex was actually real. This made Alex the public enemy number one of all the guys in the academy once more.

In fact, a few young men had even gone to ask him his secret on how he was able to woo so many beautiful ladies to become his partners.

To the people who had gathered their courage to ask Alex this question, the young man’s reply was simple.

"My secret?" Alex looked around before lowering his voice. "It’s the face."

"See?! I knew it!"

"There’s nothing we can do about that!"

"Why did we even bother asking?!"

"Argh! I hate you Alex! Just explode already!"

Truth be told, Alex also didn’t want to entertain such questions, so he simply made something up.

He hoped that by saying that it was because he was handsome, the people who would pester him would stop.

The young man already had many things on his plate, and this new exchange program was making him feel anxious for some reason.

’I just hope I’m overthinking things,’ Alex thought.

If possible, he didn’t want to meet anyone from the Aetherion Empire.

His memories of that place had been sealed, so he barely knew anything about his true identity, let alone how he lived before he fled from the palace.

’I should talk to Luthor later.’ Alex sighed in his heart.

The Guardian of the North was a famous character in the Aetherion Empire. It was highly possible that some of the exchange students might recognize him once they arrived at the academy.

In order to prevent that from happening, he would have to ask Luthor to change his appearance or wear a disguise in order to prevent any future trouble from happening.
