Chapter 731 - 358: Miss Han Cares About Me After All

  • Next Chapter

Just then, footsteps sounded from the entrance of the training ground.

Sun Yang turned to look and saw Han Ruoxi walking in, a bottle of water in her hand.

"Yo, Miss Han. Here to supervise me?"

Sun Yang asked with a hollow laugh, wiping his face with a towel.

"You’re thinking too much!"

Han Ruoxi tossed the water bottle in front of him.

"I just came to see if you were slacking off. And I brought you some water while I was at it!"

"I’m so touched!"

Sun Yang clutched his chest dramatically.

"It seems Miss Han does have a soft spot for me after all!"

"Don’t be so smug!"

Han Ruoxi rolled her eyes at him.

"Chang’an told you to do extra training, so just train properly. Don’t stand around playing the victim!"

"Hey, I’m just tired!"

Sun Yang took the water bottle, twisted it open, and took a big gulp.

"But speaking of which, Miss Han, you and the Captain have been getting pretty close lately. Any inside information you can share?"

"Are you crazy?!"

Han Ruoxi frowned.

"Don’t get the wrong idea. The Captain is our Captain, and I’m just following his orders!"

"Alright, fine. Just pretend I never asked."

Sun Yang shrugged and started his next set of exercises.

"But speaking of which, Miss Han, what do you think of my performance today? Haven’t I improved a lot?"

Han Ruoxi leaned against a nearby piece of equipment, crossed her arms, and thought for a moment before speaking.

"I suppose you’ve made some progress, but you’re still a long way from being up to standard!"

"Fine. In your eyes, is the only standard for ’passing’ Sister Qiuyue’s level?"

Sun Yang pouted.

"I just want to know, is there a target that’s a little lower than Shen Qiuyue?"

"Don’t even think about slacking off!"

Han Ruoxi said coldly.

"If you have the energy to complain, you’d be better off practicing your firepower control and stamina!"

Sun Yang sighed and muttered to himself as he continued his exercises.

’What a team of Devils. Every single one is stricter than the last...’

Han Ruoxi ignored him, her gaze shifting to the distant lights as if she were lost in thought.

Just then, the doors to the training ground were pushed open again, and Li Chang’an walked in.

His gaze swept between Sun Yang and Han Ruoxi, and his voice rang out calmly.

"Sun Yang, time’s up. Wrap it up."

Sun Yang immediately let out a sigh of relief and collapsed onto the ground.

"Captain, you’re finally here! I thought you’d forgotten about me!"

"I wouldn’t forget you."

Li Chang’an walked over and handed him a towel.

"Your performance was acceptable, but there are still many areas that need improvement.

Tomorrow, you’re doing an extra set of stamina training."

"Captain, we’re training again tomorrow?"

Sun Yang’s face was a mask of Despair.

"My back is about to break!"

"Cut the crap!"

Li Chang’an shot him a glance.

"If your stamina isn’t up to par, your firepower output will be unstable.

We can’t take that risk on a mission. Understand?"

"Understood..." Sun Yang nodded, crestfallen.

"Whatever the Captain says, goes. I give in!"

"Han Ruoxi, why are you still here?"

Li Chang’an turned and asked her.

"Didn’t I tell you to go rest?"

"I just came over to see if he was slacking off."

Han Ruoxi’s tone was calm.

"And to supervise him."

"Thanks for your hard work."

Li Chang’an nodded.

"That’s all for now. You should go back and rest. There’s more training tomorrow."

"Alright."

Han Ruoxi picked up her kit bag, turned, and left the training ground.

Watching Han Ruoxi’s back disappear through the doorway, Sun Yang couldn’t help but lean in and whisper to Li Chang’an.

"Captain, be honest with me. Does Miss Han really have it out for me? She only ever criticizes me. It feels a little unfair!"

"It’s a good thing that she’s strict with you."

Li Chang’an’s tone was placid.

"It means she wants you to improve."

"Really?"

Sun Yang scratched his head doubtfully.

’Somehow, it doesn’t sound like that to me...’

"Don’t overthink it."

Li Chang’an patted his shoulder.

"Alright, go take a shower and get some rest. Be up early tomorrow."

"Alright, alright, I’ll listen to you!"

Sun Yang got to his feet, dragging his exhausted body toward the dorms.

The training ground fell silent. Li Chang’an glanced around, did a final check of the equipment, and left only after confirming everything was in order.

Back in his dorm, he had barely sat down when there was a knock on his door from Shen Qiuyue.

"Chang’an!"

She pushed the door open and came inside, placing a file on his desk.

"This is the detailed report on today’s mission. I’ve reorganized it and added some more details."

"Thanks for your hard work."

Li Chang’an took the file, flipped through it, and nodded.

"Do you have any other thoughts on today’s mission?"

"No major issues."

Shen Qiuyue replied.

"I just think our retreat route could have been better planned.

If Sun Yang’s cover had been a little more effective, our withdrawal might have been smoother."

"That’s true."

Li Chang’an put down the file.

"I’ll arrange for him to step up his training, but coordination is something the entire team needs to practice together."

"Understood."

Shen Qiuyue nodded.

"By the way, are there any new missions scheduled for tomorrow?"

"No notification yet."

Li Chang’an said.

"But whether we have a mission or not, the training plan doesn’t stop."

"I know."

Shen Qiuyue stood up.

"I’ll head back then. You should get some rest."

"Alright, good night."

Li Chang’an nodded.

「A few days passed in a flash.」

Li Chang’an was up early. He walked to the training ground and saw Han Ruoxi standing in a corner, staring at her palm as if deep in thought.

"Han Ruoxi, what are you doing standing here? Not training?"

Li Chang’an walked over and asked.

Han Ruoxi looked up at him.

"It’s nothing. I’m just trying out the Electric Energy control method the instructor told us about yesterday. I want to see if I can produce the same Attack Power while consuming less of my Superpower."

"Not bad. You’re pretty diligent."

Li Chang’an nodded.

"But if you can’t control it well, don’t blow yourself up."
