Liu Na flipped through the documents and looked up at him.

"Good job. However, the Insect Race’s signal interference has been getting more frequent lately. There might be follow-up missions, so be prepared!"

"Understood!"

Li Chang’an nodded and led his team out of the command room.

As they walked out, Sun Yang stretched lazily.

"Glad we didn’t run into any major trouble today. Think we can get a day off tomorrow?"

"A day off?"

Han Ruoxi scoffed.

"All you think about is slacking off. Don’t forget we have physical training tomorrow!"

"Hey, training is training. I was just saying!"

Sun Yang gave a sheepish smile.

"Alright, everyone go back and get some rest!"

Li Chang’an waved his hand.

"Assemble on time tomorrow. Don’t be late!"

Everyone went their separate ways and returned to their dorms.

Li Chang’an arrived at the training grounds on time. He stood in the center of the field, looked around, and saw his team members were already there.

"Good. Everyone’s on time."

Li Chang’an nodded.

"Today’s task is simple. First, a warm-up, then ten laps. No slacking!"

"Captain, isn’t ten laps a bit much?"

Sun Yang complained, raising his hand.

"We just ran eight laps yesterday. Can’t we take it a little easier today?"

"If you think that’s too much, you can do two more."

Li Chang’an replied casually, his expression unchanged.

"Stop your whining and get running!"

Han Ruoxi kicked Sun Yang.

"You’re always like this, just dawdling and whining!"

"I was just trying to get us some better treatment!"

Sun Yang rubbed his head, chuckled, and started running.

Shen Qiuyue shot Sun Yang a cold glance.

"So annoying."

"Alright, everyone, run!"

Li Chang’an waved his hand and started running with them.

As the group ran along the track, Han Ruoxi suddenly spoke up.

"Hey guys, how much longer do you think we’ll be at this base? I heard other Combat Groups have already started to relocate."

"We’ll just have to follow orders from the higher-ups. As new recruits, we’ll probably have to train for a while longer," Sun Yang answered, panting.

"But I don’t mind fighting a few more bugs. Taking down those ones yesterday wasn’t satisfying enough for me!"

"Oh, give me a break!"

Han Ruoxi rolled her eyes.

"You were almost knocked over by a bug yesterday, and now you’re bragging again?"

"That was a tactical retreat! I did it on purpose!"

Sun Yang said defiantly.

"Shut up. No one wants to hear your excuses."

Shen Qiuyue cut him off coldly.

"Alright, focus on running. Cut the useless chatter!"

Li Chang’an’s words cut their conversation short, and the group silently finished the remaining laps.

After the run, Li Chang’an took out a schedule and glanced at it.

"Next is combat training. Pair up for sparring. And remember to pull your punches!"

"Captain, can’t we do something new? I’m sick of sparring every day!" Sun Yang grumbled.

"Something new? Do you think this is a playground?"

Li Chang’an shot him a look.

"No more nonsense. Get ready!"

Han Ruoxi and Shen Qiuyue were paired up. Just a few moves into their sparring match, Shen Qiuyue had Han Ruoxi in constant retreat.

"Slow down! Slow down!"

Han Ruoxi waved her hands frantically.

"Shen Qiuyue, don’t be so rough! This isn’t a real fight!"

"Stop retreating all the time. Attack!"

Shen Qiuyue paused, her tone calm.

"I can’t get an attack in! Your moves are too fast!"

Han Ruoxi pouted.

"Then get faster."

Shen Qiuyue attacked again, forcing Han Ruoxi to grit her teeth and defend.

Meanwhile, Sun Yang was sparring with Li Chang’an and was clearly getting crushed.

"Captain, don’t go so hard! Go easy on me, will ya?"

Sun Yang cried out with a pained look on his face.

"Pride won’t win you a fight. Focus!"

Li Chang’an swung his Saw Chain Sword, sending Sun Yang’s weapon flying.

"I give! I give!"

Sun Yang quickly raised his hands in surrender.

"This is just bullying!"

"Go back and practice more, or you’ll lose again next time."

Li Chang’an retracted his sword and stood to the side.

"Five-minute break, then we continue!"

Training continued until noon. The group dragged their exhausted bodies back to the mess hall.

"What’s for lunch today?"

Han Ruoxi asked while wiping away her sweat.

"Don’t get your hopes up. It’s the same standard-issue base food," Sun Yang sighed.

"Those chicken wraps from yesterday? I’m not even sure that was real meat!"

"If you’re not going to eat it, give it to me."

Shen Qiuyue sat down with her tray.

"Qiuyue, you eat so fast. Aren’t you afraid you’ll get a stomachache?"

Sun Yang watched her, speechless.

"I have things to do after this. Eating slowly is a waste of time."

Shen Qiuyue said without looking up.

"Both of you, stop bickering."

Li Chang’an said casually as he picked up a piece of meat.

"The Commander has a briefing this afternoon. As soon as you’re done eating, head straight to the command room to assemble."

"What’s the Commander up to now?" Han Ruoxi asked.

"Who knows."

Li Chang’an waved his hand dismissively.

"Just eat. Fewer questions."

The group quickly finished their lunch and arrived at the command room on time.

Commander Chen Hao was standing in front of a map. He glanced at them.

"There’s an urgent mission this afternoon. The location is the Southern Mountain Area on Lion’s Fang Star."

Chen Hao said, pointing to a red dot on the map.

"We’ve discovered an Insect Race transport convoy. They may be moving some kind of resource to their main base. Your mission is to investigate the convoy and find out the specifics."

"Understood, Commander!"

Li Chang’an nodded.

"Move quickly. Reconnaissance is the priority. Confirm what you can, but try not to alert the enemy."

Chen Hao added.

"The specific plan of action is up to you."

"Sir!"

Li Chang’an acknowledged the order and led his team out of the command room.

Walking out of the command room, Sun Yang couldn’t help but speak up.

"Captain, I’ve got a bad feeling about this mission. It doesn’t sound simple."
