Chapter 854: Come With Me, We’re on the Same Side
Chapter 854 -708: Come With Me, We’re on the Same Side
The prison guard who ripped off the corpse’s facial skin was naturally Chen Ya.
Yes, he smoothly transitioned from a “dead” prisoner to a prison guard.
This is an invisible advantage of all prison guards wearing masks; an extra or missing person on usual days is hardly noticeable.
Immediately, two prison guards, whose builds closely resembled the deceased Zhao Lu and his companion, walked up.
They first took off their own white masks, revealing two utterly ordinary faces.
No features, no memorable points, perfectly fitting the definition of a “backdrop character.”
Then, with extreme caution, they picked up the two freshly peeled human skins and placed them on their faces as if applying a facial mask.
The edges of the human skin and their own facial seams revealed faint traces.
But immediately, another prison guard, also wearing a white mask but with two playful pigtails sticking up from the back of her head and a petite frame, hopped over.
Her movements starkly contrasted the atmosphere here, exuding an oddly innocent feel.
“A female prison guard?!!”
Chang Erbing felt his cognitive baseline being shaken again, rendered speechless.
The pigtail prison guard extended her slender fingers, pressing here and pinching there, her fingertips roaming the seams of the human skin and face, like molding a lump of clay.
While adjusting, she whispered:
“Here, the cheekbone needs to be pushed up a bit more… Yes, just like that.”
“The jawline isn’t tight enough; it needs a bit of bio-adhesive to hold it…”
“The corners of the eyes, watch the folds of the inner corners…”
As she spoke, she took out a paintbrush, dipped it into a special pigment, and simulated the subtle skin spots and blood vessel marks on the human skin mask.
In just over ten minutes, when the pigtail prison guard stepped back, Chang Erbing could hardly believe his eyes.
Zhao Lu and another Mobility Department personnel who had just died before him somehow “came back to life” right on the spot!
Chang Erbing was dumbfounded, feeling as if his own skin was tightening, with a chill running up his spine.
He subconsciously touched his face, as if this thin layer of skin had also become unreliable.
Even though he kept telling himself in his mind that Feng Mu is Captain Li’s friend and his friend too, a deep chill and horror uncontrollably surged within his heart.
“Impressive, my friend!!!”
Chang Erbing murmured in his mind:
“You’ve not only trained a bunch of maniacs like you but also a bunch of maniacs with extraordinary skills, damn it.”
Five minutes later, the original corpses stripped of skin and clothes, completely deprived of any value, were shoved into the cremator.
The heavy furnace door closed with a “boom,” echoing low air flow and ignition sounds.
At the same time, the iron door of the Second Prison emitted a low hum, slowly opening again.
“Zhao Lu” and another “Mobility Department colleague,” tidied their slightly wrinkled clothes, stepping out quickly with the same stride as when they arrived.
“Zhao Lu” even glanced back at the dark surveillance camera above the gate.
Then, the two headed towards a government vehicle parked not far away, opened the car door, and got inside.
The engine started, the vehicle let out a low roar, smoothly driving away from the Second Prison entrance, following the road they came from, soon turning into a small black dot in the surveillance camera, disappearing at the horizon.
In the air, a gray-brown sparrow folded its wings, diving rapidly towards the road below, its beady eyes spinning rapidly, locking onto the windshield of the moving government car below.
Inside the abandoned gas station.
Iron Claw’s eyes cast a holographic projection of the car interior and spoke:
“No mission target found, seems like Feng Mu wasn’t deceived to come out.”
Shadow Scorpion leaned against a rusty fuel pump, sneering:
“Hmph, if they really could trick him back, the commander wouldn’t have sent us here. We were never supposed to expect anything from these two minnows.
Right, Captain?”
The Captain didn’t respond to Shadow Scorpion’s inquiry, his gaze fixed on the aerial projection.
After a moment of silence, he gave the order:
“Iron Claw, go, bring those two over here. I have questions for them.”
Iron Claw, though unsure what there was to ask, immediately complied.
“Yes!”
Before the words fell, four pairs of robust mechanical limbs abruptly shot out, with a “clang” as the sharp ends pierced into the ground.
The hydraulic system emitted a short pressurizing sound, unleashing immense thrust instantly.
Iron Claw, like an enraged steel spider, shot out directly through a shattered window, his form flickering several times mid-air, already spanning dozens of meters.
Shadow Scorpion waved away the dust in the air, cautiously asked the Captain:
“Captain, is there something wrong with those two wasted ones?”
Shadow Scorpion knew his own captain well—he never did anything without reason.
The Captain didn’t answer, his expression growing increasingly inscrutable.
On the road, the black car engine roared, with the pedal floored.
Suddenly, [Zhao Lu]’s expression changed dramatically, glancing into the rearview mirror.
In the mirror, a white shadow was closing in rapidly, astounding in speed, through the dust rising behind the car.
That thing wasn’t running; it was making consecutive, furious leaps, looking like a large white spider?!!
“What is that?”
[Zhao Lu]’s pupils contracted, exclaiming in shock.
The colleague in the passenger seat turned sharply upon hearing the exclamation, looking back through the side window.
