Chapter 892: Chapter 3: The Beginning of Destiny – Feng Mu Arc (Extra)

A barrage of questions, like an out-of-control train, barreled into my mind, crushing the fragile "calm" I had just established.

The questions about the world’s anomalies, which I had forcibly suppressed, resurfaced in my mind like a boiling swamp, bringing with them more concrete and terrifying details.

"Ugh..."

A wave of unprecedented severe pain swept through my skull, as if countless red-hot iron rods were stirring my brain simultaneously, trying to pry open a sealed-off area.

My vision went black repeatedly, and the blood-red courtyard twisted and spun in my sight, nearly bringing me to my knees.

A completely unfamiliar, mad and raspy voice seemed to awaken in the deepest part of my mind, breaking through the dam and starting to scream and shriek desperately.

It urged me, tempted me, speaking in a language I couldn’t comprehend yet found inexplicably familiar, repeating the same frightening, irresistible command.

—Look up! Look at the sun! Now! Immediately!

My body began to tremble uncontrollably.

My neck turned extraordinarily stiff, as if filled with cold cement instantly, every joint groaning in protest.

Then it was replaced by a terrifying softness; I felt I had completely lost control over my body, like a marionette manipulated by invisible strings, the manipulator’s will far stronger than my own.

My head began to defy the resistance of my remaining will, defying the "setup" inherent to this body, tilting back at a mechanical, slow rate.

"Crack..."

The vertebrae in my neck made a clear, audible sound akin to dry branches being forcibly snapped, bending backward one segment at a time, difficultly.

Muscles and tendons stretched to their limits, delivering a tearing, burning pain, reminding me how unnatural this action was.

No! Don’t look! Stop! Stop now! It’s forbidden! It will lead to destruction!

I screamed frantically within, futilely trying to regain control.

But my body instead strained even harder upward, like an evil sunflower chasing darkness.

Until my face was completely tilted upwards, forming a ninety-degree angle with the ground, my sight unobstructedly cast straight into the forbidden sky.

The blood-red sun instantly dominated my entire view!

It was no longer a distant ball of light.

It loomed so close, so enormous, red and viscous like real blood, as if it were about to drip from the sky in the next moment, engulfing and melting me completely.

An overwhelming sensation of being stared at by a colossal and malevolent presence pierced through my entire being.

A searing pain, as if corroded by strong acid, emanated from my retinas, making me feel my eyes were like wax statues exposed to high heat, starting to melt and slide, my vision rapidly becoming blurry and distorted, all colors merging into a dirty palette.

Immediately after, an unbearable, rapidly increasing pressure inside my eyeballs, as if something was about to hatch and burst forth.

"Pop! Pop!"

Two dull sounds, like ripe fruits bursting, echoed within my skull, heralding the complete destruction of my visual organs.

Instantly, all external visual signals vanished completely.

The world plunged into a pure, physical meaning of endless, despairing darkness.

However, that darkness lasted only a moment, or rather, the loss of sight instead opened another "door" of perception.

In the depths of my consciousness, not only did the sun not disappear with the destruction of my eyes, it became clearer, larger, more... real to the point of madness!

It was no longer the distant sphere emanating a bloody glow, symbolizing the "Master".

It had transformed into... lines.

Endless, densely packed, crisscrossing lines!

They wove, entangled, knotted, and writhed frantically in the center of the sky, forming an enormous, ever-changing form, a horrifying line cluster circle that seemed alive.

Like a bloated, malicious nest, yet also like a vortex swallowing everything!

—Is this the sun?! Is this... the Master?!!

Numerous thinner, almost transparent lines, like waterfalls emitting malevolence or countless greedy, precise tentacles, hung down from the enormous, pulsating line cluster, scattering across the earth.

They merged into what seemed like ordinary "light," disguising themselves as sunlight, but in reality, they were a giant, invisible net covering the heavens and earth.

And every end of this giant net connected precisely, inescapably, to a living entity on the ground.

Those walking people, the twisted flowers in the courtyard, even myself.

I could "see" a cold line penetrating from the top of my head into the Baihui point, connecting to my spine, my brain, every nerve like a parasite’s mouthpart.

The entire line cluster, or rather, the "sun," was like a bloodthirsty mouth constantly closing in, slowly and steadily dragging the entire world, all life, into its "mouth" through these filaments.

An ultimate, unavoidable devouring!

Fear, despair, insignificance... emotions like a tsunami engulfed me.

Fear reached its peak, instead giving rise to an extreme, reckless madness.

No escape! No hiding! Since eventually being devoured is inevitable, then...

An absurd and bold thought, like a ghostly flame kindled in the darkness, suddenly emerged—what if I get there first, climb up voluntarily?
