Eternal Cultivation Of Alchemy

Chapter 3833: Timelady

The arrival of the Divination God took many people by surprise.

"Senior?" The Saber God stood suddenly, looking at the newly arrived man.

All of the other gods immediately stood and gave a deep bow toward him. Even Killshot wasn’t so rude as to not greet the man with the proper deference he deserved.

The Technique God looked at the man in awe. The last time she had seen him was so long ago that it felt like a different life. Back then, she had been but a mere soldier in the legions that fought during the war.

Since becoming a God, this was her first time seeing him.

That was true of many others as well.

Sunflare looked at the man with a bit of surprise as well, for he knew him not by reputation but by his actions. It was a long time ago that this man had visited the Nine Yang Court and left them with a prophecy of the future.

Seeing him again, the words of those long-forgotten prophecies surfaced in his mind like a distant memory.

The Sky God narrowed her eyes. "Divination God? What are you doing here?"

"I had a reason to come," the Divination God said, his eyes moving toward Quietspring.

Quietspring’s breathing grew ragged all of a sudden as she realized that this man was the very person she and her sisters worshipped. For ages, it had been said that the Divination God had most likely died. He hadn’t been seen for over a hundred thousand years, so the more time passed without him being seen, the more they believed he truly had died.

So, seeing him not only alive but standing right there before her caused the current leader of the Fatekeepers to nearly lose all sense of propriety and kneel before him.

Alex had a different thought going through his head than what everyone else most likely did.

Unlike them, he was more worried about the Divination God’s presence here.

What was he attempting to do?

Was he going to help yet another Fatekeeper see his future? If so, which future would it be?

It would be great if it was the false but good future, rather than what he claimed to be the true future.

Alex kept his eyes on the Divination God, but then his attention was pulled away by someone else who walked into the palace.

Liz cowered a little as she entered the room, looking around at the people who were far too important for her to feel comfortable around. She took a deep breath and arrived by the Divination God’s side before bowing toward everyone.

"Greetings!"

No one truly understood what Liz’s presence there meant, though the Sky God appeared to already have some idea.

"This is Timelady, my disciple," the Divination God introduced Liz to everyone.

Hearing the mere fact that the Divination God had a disciple caused many of the people there to blink in surprise. Their eyes widened as they slowly realized the magnitude of what they had just been told.

The Divination God had lived longer than everyone else in this room, and in all that time, he had never once taken a disciple.

And yet now, for some unknown reason, he had one.

The Divination God had an heir.

And that was perhaps more surprising than anything else they had learned today.

"Your... disciple?" Quietspring slowly vocalized her thoughts, pulling herself out of her stunned state.

"Yes," the Divination God said. "I have brought her here today for a simple reason."

Liz turned toward him along with everyone else, as she too didn’t know why she had been brought here.

"I want you to compete with my disciple in seeing the future of this young man," the Divination God said.

Not one person in that room had expected him to say such a thing.

He was a man known for not wanting to involve himself with others, so seeing him bring his own disciple here for a competition was quite strange.

Only the Sky God didn’t react that way, almost as if she understood what the Divination God was trying to do.

She turned away from him and toward Quietspring. "You are free to refuse this, though I suppose you won’t want to."

Quietspring slowly shook her head. "The God of Divination has a disciple. She may only be a weak Immortal, but I would very much like to see what it is about her that caught our God’s eye."

The Sky God shrugged.

She looked around at the others in the room, who now seemed more than excited to witness whatever was about to happen, so she stepped aside, letting them do what they wanted.

The Divination God gestured for Quietspring to make her attempt.

"You may resume."

She didn’t do so immediately. Instead, she narrowed her eyes, wanting to make certain of a few things before she started.

"How do you wish to judge us, Divination God?" she asked. "What are your criteria?"

The Divination God answered right away.

"I won’t ask the impossible of you. Just do what you can and keep the Divination to yourself. Once my disciple makes her Divination, you may reveal what you have learned. We’ll compare the two and see who has Divined more."

"Is that regardless of our cultivation bases?" she asked.

"Very much so," the Divination God answered.

The woman felt calmer now, more certain that she could perhaps succeed. She looked toward Liz for a moment, a faint glimmer of jealousy forming in her heart.

She too wanted to have the Divination God as her master.

But she didn’t let that thought overtake her. She crushed it quickly and prepared herself.

It was not only her reputation that was at stake.

It was her sisters’ reputation as well.

She had to do her best.

She took a deep breath and gave a single nod.

"I shall begin."

She closed her eyes and reached for the heavens as she began making her Divination.
