Eternal Cultivation Of Alchemy
Chapter 3859: Inside Scoop
The Alchemy God raised an eyebrow and let out a slight chuckle.
"Hand it over? Dear God, no. I’ve tried working with that book many times in the past, but I was never able to gain the inheritance that was inside it. Seeing how quickly you rose and just how talented you are, I guessed that you must have gained that inheritance."
"Inheritance?"
It took Alex until that moment to realize that he and the Alchemy God were talking about two entirely different things.
The Alchemy God had no idea about the Book of Boundless Healing. Instead, he was talking about the Alchemy God’s Knowledge, the book through which Alex had gained the first Alchemy God’s inheritance.
"Yes," Alex answered swiftly. "I did receive the inheritance."
"All of it?" the Alchemy God asked.
"Not all. I haven’t gotten through it all," Alex answered truthfully. "I will when I become a Divinity."
The Alchemy God narrowed his eyes. "Are there any techniques within your inheritance that do not pertain to Alchemy?"
Alex was somewhat taken aback. He shook his head with a genuine look. "I’m not sure what you’re talking about, senior. Everything I’ve gained has all been about Alchemy. Was I supposed to get one that wasn’t?"
"I don’t know," the Alchemy God said as he crossed his arms in thought. "You said you haven’t received all of it? Then perhaps you will need to wait until you do."
Alex frowned slightly. "What am I supposed to even receive?"
"Something not related to Alchemy," the man said.
Alex narrowed his eyes. "Why?"
The Alchemy God hesitated for a moment before speaking again. "Someone else is searching for that technique. They may visit you soon. If you have it, give it to them without hesitation. It’s for your own good."
Alex couldn’t have been more confused. "Who?" he asked.
The Alchemy God shook his head. "I can’t say. I can only give this advice."
Alex shrugged. "I’ll think about it."
"No, don’t think about it. Just do it."
"I don’t even know what I’m supposed to give," Alex said in an exasperated tone.
"Neither do I. But I know that whatever it is, it is inside the book you received, and that information should now be within you as part of your inheritance. Whatever it is, heed my advice."
Alex didn’t know what else to say at all. Fortunately, someone walked out at that time.
"Oh, young Dawnblade," the Saber God said as he stepped outside. "You’re here again."
"Yes, senior," Alex said quickly.
"Why didn’t you go in?" the man asked, moving his hands through his golden hair.
"He’s here to meet me," the Alchemy God answered.
"Oh," the Saber God said. "So you’re not here regarding the Movement God?"
"The Movement God?" Alex asked. "Is he inside?"
"Oh, no," the Saber God said with the driest of laughs in his voice. "I suppose you’re not here regarding that, then."
"That being..."
"I’m afraid I must keep my mouth shut," the Saber God said. "I’ll see you two later." He looked toward Sunflare and bowed. "Senior."
Sunflare barely reacted to the greeting.
A few other Gods walked out afterward. The Artifact God and the Technique God came out together and stopped when they saw Alex.
"What are you doing here?" the Artifact God asked.
"I was called here," Alex said.
"Oh. Come by the workshop after you’re done, then," the Artifact God said and left.
The Defense God walked out next. He held a more serious look on his face than anyone else who had come out before him. He barely even glanced at Alex before walking away. The Alchemy God left along with him, turning back to Alex one last time to give him a look that said more than enough.
Alex still couldn’t help but wonder just what the hell technique it was that was inside his inheritance. He would have to wait and see.
The War God walked out next, and along with him was someone Alex had never seen before. It was an older man with long black hair that fell across his shoulders like a waterfall, except for a single tuft of hair in the front that was entirely white.
He had a gentle look about him, appearing kinder than almost anyone Alex had ever seen before.
Alex could imagine how this man would look with a smile, though he didn’t have one at the moment.
Alex quickly greeted the War God and then turned toward the new man. He waited for the War God to introduce him.
"Oh, you’re here," the War God said before looking toward the man next to him. "This is the Half God they were talking about. Young Dawnblade."
"Ah, the one the Storm God was searching for," the man said in a voice so pleasant that Alex nearly found himself smiling without even thinking.
The War God turned to him next. "You must not have seen him before. This is the Music God."
Alex’s eyebrows rose. "Greetings, senior. It’s a pleasure to meet you."
The Music God nodded with a faint smile. "It is a pleasure to meet you as well, young man. I look forward to seeing you often in the future. Though I must apologize that I cannot stay and talk with you right now."
Alex nodded, saying nothing more. He watched as the two Gods walked away.
"Something is happening," Sunflare said from the side. "They’re trying their best to hide it, though."
Alex nodded.
"You can come inside now," the Sky God’s voice came from inside the palace.
Alex walked in, along with Sunflare, and found the Sky God sitting alongside his Master and the Divination God. He greeted the three.
"You’ve met with the Alchemy God, I presume," the Sky God said. "That was why we called you."
"I have," Alex said. "Was that all, then?"
"That was all," the Sky God said. "Though... since you’re here, I suppose it won’t hurt to let you know this too, given that you are a Half God."
Alex narrowed his eyes. "What is it, senior?"
The Sky God let out a deep sigh before telling him the truth.
"The Movement God is dead."
