Eternal Cultivation Of Alchemy
Chapter 3949: Two More Suns
The Fire God didn’t respond to Alex’s question. He simply let out a snort. "It’s not a bad artifact, but if fire is all it can produce, then mine can do so as well."
The slowly moving ember-like wave pattern around Ashmaker’s robe suddenly came alive, burning with bright orange fire. It wasn’t a regular fire, but it wasn’t the Nine-Headed Phoenix’s flames either. It was something different, closer to what Leafheart had back in the Alchemy Tournament.
"It’s not that powerful a flame," Alex said. "Surely you don’t intend to compare that with Sunfire. I admit my lack of a strong Qi means my Sunfire will lose against that fire, but if we were to consider ourselves equal, I would win every time."
"I won’t deny that Sunfire is strong, but that is also made from the remains of a Primordial. While mine is something that didn’t need it," the man said.
Alex had to give him that, though he wasn’t sure how the audience would look at it. Them admitting his robe was worse than his likely wouldn’t do much in changing their judgment one way or the other.
"But of course," Alex quickly added. "Mine can’t do only this."
He took a deep breath and closed his eyes, reaching deep into his body until he found his Dantian. The single drop of Divine Qi that naturally formed inside of him had been used up when he used the Sunfire Mantle. To use the next one, he needed more Divine Qi again.
For that, Alex needed to form more Divine Qi.
One way to get it was to simply cultivate quickly, but that would obviously not be something he could do right then. What he did instead was simply use his senses to quickly compress his Immortal Qi, until it slowly transformed into Divine Qi.
Because of the strength of his Divine Qi, which was damn near close to being at the peak of Divine Creation realm, his Spiritual Sense alone couldn’t help form it at all. If he tried to, the Divine Qi would quickly escape his control and cause more trouble than it was worth.
However, his cultivation at the moment was capable of handling a single drop of Divine Qi without any issues in the slightest. So, when he compressed his Immortal Qi, his body naturally handled the rest of the process, holding the Divine Qi.
When he acquired the Divine Qi, he immediately used it on his robe once again, activating the next skill carved into it.
Suddenly, the sleeves around Alex’s arms came apart, each portion turning back into embers that slowly spread away into their own individual things. With everyone watching him closely, the embers flew to his back, quickly reforming into something entirely different.
They formed large glowing wings that burned as brightly as the sun itself.
Nine Sun Robe - Fifth Sun: Sun Wings
Before anyone could say anything, Alex took to the sky, leaving behind a trail that gave off sunlight. Many turned their heads to the sky to look at him, but he was already gone.
"That’s unreal," the Spear God said, sounding surprised for the first time since the start. He looked toward the Storm God who sat next to him. "Do you think he is faster than a bolt of lightning?"
The Storm God let out a loud snort. "You should know better than to ask me that," the man said.
The Spear God chuckled slightly. "Just checking."
The Storm God stayed looking to the sky. "Still, he’s quite fast. How the hell did he manage to get his hands on those feathers?"
Several others were having similar conversations all around. For an Immortal, Alex’s flight had reached a speed that left Celestials awestruck. He was faster than many of the Divinities themselves.
Alex quickly returned back to the arena. Most didn’t even realize he had arrived before the sound of his landing reached them. When they looked down, the wings behind him fizzled away, returning to becoming his sleeves.
Alex let out a deep breath. "That’s another one."
Internally, he was himself surprised how fast that had been. He had known that the wings were capable of giving him speed, but this speed was beyond what he had imagined. If it were anyone but him, they would’ve likely crashed into something.
It was only thanks to his Demon Eyes that he was able to maneuver himself mid-air and not overshoot something.
The Fire God showed no emotion on his face, simply staring at him intently. Even he couldn’t say the wings were nothing serious. If they could give an Immortal such speed, then what could they do to a Divinity? Or even a Celestial?
"Why did you put away the wings?" Ashmaker asked.
"It’s a bit too difficult to keep it active since it consumes a lot of Qi. I already used what I had, so it naturally stopped working."
"So it is limited on you," the Fire God said. "Must suck to not be able to show its true might."
Alex shrugged. "I would like to believe I’m doing quite fine."
"So? Is that all?"
Alex narrowed his eyes. Was the man truly not surprised by what he had shown? He had to be. Surely.
"I’ve got one more thing," he said, trying to sound as confident as he could. "It’s perhaps the last thing I can show with the robe."
Hearing his words, the audience grew attentive, waiting for him to show what he could do.
Alex glanced toward them for a second before turning his gaze inward, looking at his Dantian again. He reached for his Qi and compressed it again, forming another drop of Qi. By now, his Qi had dropped by a small amount, and his Spiritual energy had also dropped a bit.
Thankfully, that wouldn’t matter soon enough.
Alex took the Qi and placed it into his robe one last time, activating the final sun he could with the Divine Qi.
