Eternal Emperor's Path to Ascension
Chapter 464: A Sky Full of Shooting Stars (Part 1)
The power of Faith.
It was an exceedingly peculiar power, born from the deepest convictions of living beings.
Unlike Spirit Qi, which originated from the heavens and earth, or Karma, which intertwined the countless causes and effects of existence, Faith was born from the hearts of sentient beings themselves.
It could emerge from admiration, reverence, devotion, and even desperation.
Although its power was incomparable to that of Karma, Merit, or Providence, Faith was not entirely separate from Providence.
In fact, it could be considered a special form of Providence.
After all, the belief of countless living beings could influence the trajectory of a cultivator’s fate, gradually gathering into an invisible force that accompanied them throughout their cultivation.
Under ordinary circumstances, such Faith would accumulate slowly over countless years, becoming a foundation upon which ancient sects and powerful Dao lineages could establish their everlasting inheritances, such as the Dragon King Temple.
However, the current circumstances were anything but ordinary.
The Lower Realm was facing an unprecedented catastrophe.
Countless mortals had lost their homes, their families, and everything they had ever known. Their prayers carried an intensity that ordinary circumstances could never produce, and the Faith generated by their desperate hopes surged towards the heavens like an invisible river.
It crossed mountains and rivers, passed through ruined cities, and converged upon the cultivators who were still fighting against the Cleansing.
The invisible power of Faith entered their bodies, and for a brief moment, countless cultivators felt a strange warmth spread through their very existence, as if an invisible hand had gently touched the deepest parts of their being.
Their Providence began to fluctuate.
Some cultivators discovered that their previously sluggish Spiritual Energy had become slightly easier to control. Others felt their Divine Senses sharpen, while those who had been on the verge of losing consciousness found themselves regaining a trace of clarity.
Even the supreme prodigies fighting on the battlefield experienced the change.
For an instant, it seemed as if the entire Lower Realm had become connected through an invisible bond.
Yet, what use could this be?
The difference in strength between the two sides remained as vast as ever.
No amount of Faith could immediately transform an ordinary cultivator into a Half Immortal, much less allow an Immortal Ascension cultivator to challenge a genuine Immortal.
The Lightning Tribulation Divine Deity still stood above the battlefield, suppressing the three supreme powerhouses with his overwhelming might.
The Upper Realm army was still intact, and the Lower Realm was still on the verge of annihilation.
The power of Faith alone could not reverse the situation.
At this moment, the woman in pale golden robes slowly raised her hand.
The last trace of patience had disappeared from her expression.
She had already suffered immense humiliation at the hands of an Immortal Ascension cultivator.
Although the Unrivaled Fist God’s self-destruction failed to inflict serious injuries upon her, it had thoroughly enraged her.
She would no longer tolerate these insignificant insects wasting her time.
A terrifying aura erupted from her body as the surrounding Spiritual Energy immediately gathered towards her palm, forming a brilliant golden sphere that grew larger with every passing instant.
The surrounding void began to tremble, and even the shattered spatial cracks left behind by the Unrivaled Fist God’s final attack were forcibly suppressed beneath her aura.
She looked down at the remaining Lower Realm cultivators, her eyes filled with cold indifference.
"Since none of you wish to surrender, then die."
The golden sphere descended slightly, causing the heavens and earth to lose their colors.
Countless Lower Realm cultivators felt their bodies stiffen beneath the terrifying pressure. Some could not even raise their heads, while others instinctively closed their eyes, believing that their deaths had finally arrived.
However, at that very moment!
A strange sound suddenly rang out.
It was faint at first, almost imperceptible beneath the rumbling of the battlefield.
Then, it grew louder and louder, until, in the span of a few moments, it had already enveloped the entire Mortal World.
The sound of something breaking through the air!
Countless streaks of light emerged from distant horizons.
They tore through the skies, crossed mountains and rivers, and surged towards the skies of the Central Continent at astonishing speeds!
Each streak carried an aura that belonged to the Tribulation Transcendence Realm!
One, ten, hundred, thousand!
The number continued to increase.
From the eastern wilderness to the western deserts, from the southern seas to the northern mountains, countless figures rose into the heavens!
Among them were supreme geniuses who had risen during the current generation, great disciples of ancient sects, and successors of powerful immortal families.
There were also old powerhouses who had once dominated the Mortal World beneath the Immortal Ascension Realm, their names remembered by generations of cultivators.
Some had spent their entire lives pursuing the Dao, only to find themselves trapped at the threshold of Immortal Ascension.
Others had long since abandoned their ambitions, choosing instead to live in seclusion and watch the rise and fall of the world from afar.
There were youths in the prime of their lives, their eyes shining with the brilliance of an unfulfilled future.
There were elders whose bodies had already begun to wither, their remaining lifespans measured in mere years or even months.
There were heroic men who laughed loudly as they flew through the skies, their laughter echoing across the heavens.
There were beautiful women who charged forward with faint smiles, their expressions serene despite the terrifying auras surrounding them.
There were Demons and the remnants of demonic cultivator factions that had survived the Righteous-Demonic War.
There were tyrants who had committed countless atrocities, their names associated with bloodshed and destruction.
There were successors of ancient powers who had inherited the legacies of long dead ancestors.
And there were hermits who had remained in seclusion for thousands of years, never once appearing before the world.
Some of them had fought against one another for centuries.
Some had destroyed each other’s sects, slaughtered each other’s disciples, and accumulated grudges that could not be resolved even after death.
Some had spent their entire lives pursuing personal gain, caring little for the suffering of others.
Yet, at this moment, they were all heading towards the same destination.
The final battlefield above the Central Continent!
