"Mom! Mom! Look!"

In that small mortal village, the little girl excitedly tugged at her mother’s clothes, pointing towards the heavens with her tiny finger.

Her bright eyes reflected the countless streaks of light crossing the blood red sky, and her face was filled with an excitement that seemed entirely out of place amidst the surrounding despair.

"There are so many shooting stars!"

She jumped up and down, unable to contain her happiness.

"With this many shooting stars, my wish will definitely come true!"

Her mother followed her gaze, and gor a moment, she forgot to breathe.

The sky was filled with brilliant, roaring light.

Countless streaks of radiance crossed the heavens, illuminating the devastated mountains and ruined lands. They appeared one after another, like an endless meteor shower, each one leaving behind a brilliant trail before disappearing into the distance.

The woman did not understand what was happening.

She could not comprehend why so many shooting stars had appeared simultaneously, nor could she imagine what those distant flashes of light truly represented.

But she could see them, and see her daughter smiling.

The little girl clasped her hands together once more, her eyes tightly closed as she made another wish.

"I hope the Immortals win!"

Her voice was exceptionally clear amidst the chaos.

"Then everyone will be safe!"

...

On a ruined battlefield in the Central Continent, Ying Qingshuang slowly raised her head.

For a moment, she seemed to have fallen into a daze.

Her body was covered in wounds, and her pale face had lost most of its color. The Spiritual Energy within her body was nearly exhausted, while the seven black swords surrounding her had become noticeably dimmer.

She had already fought beyond her limits.

As the Saintess of the Seven Star Sword Sect, Ying Qingshuang was nurtured with the finest resources and inheritance available in the Mortal World.

She possessed an Impeccable Nine Apertures Exquisite Heart and an Innate Astral Sword Soul, granting her a comprehension of the Sword Dao that countless cultivators could only dream of.

Her Dao Heart was exceptionally clear, and from the moment she begun cultivating, she was destined to walk the path of a Sword Immortal.

Yet now, standing amidst the ruins of the Mortal World, she had finally encountered something that her sword could not overcome.

The Cleansing, an overwhelming catastrophe that could not be stopped by talent, comprehension, or determination alone.

Ying Qingshuang lowered her gaze towards her sword, remembering the last words of the Unrivaled Fist God.

Cultivators... should be like this?

Just then, she seemed to hear something resembling a faint, mournful cry.

Her seven black swords trembled simultaneously.

Their sword lights flickered, and a strange resonance emerged between them, as though they had sensed something that even their master could not yet comprehend.

Ying Qingshuang froze for a moment.

The next instant, she suddenly rose to her feet.

Her eyes were no longer vacant, instead shining with a terrifying brilliance.

She looked towards the distant battlefield, where countless streaks of light were plunging into the Upper Realm army.

Then, without another word, she shot into the heavens, her aura approaching the same intensity as the Unrivaled Fist God in an instant.

Her seven swords followed behind her, emitting mournful cries as they streaked through the blood red sky.

They seemed to understand that their master had already made her decision.

...

At almost the same moment, other figures rose from the devastated battlefield.

Monk Yellow Robed stood atop a broken mountain, his yellow robes stained with blood.

He looked towards the countless shooting stars, then lowered his head and smiled faintly.

"All living beings suffer, and all things eventually perish."

He clasped his hands together.

"Perhaps this monk should finally learn to be a little less attached to life."

His body began to radiate brilliant golden light.

The next moment, he stepped into the heavens.

The Path Seeker Daoist followed shortly afterwards, laughing softly.

"To seek the Dao, one must first dare to walk it."

Then, his figure transformed into a streak of light.

Long Wanchun, the Sovereign of Storms, rose from the ruins with his aura surging violently.

His body was covered in wounds, and the power of his Flood Dragon body had nearly been exhausted.

Yet, when he saw the countless figures charging towards the Upper Realm army, his eyes blazed with a nameless fire, suddenly understanding why his sworn brother, who was so prideful that he seemed he might not survive a year in the cultivation world, had managed to become a supreme existence in his past life.

"Since everyone is going, how can this sovereign remain behind?"

The wind howled and thunder roared as another streak of light shot towards the battlefield.

One after another, the supreme prodigies of the current generation made their decisions.

...

Wang Daoyun stood atop a shattered mountain.

His body swayed slightly, and the Sword Intent surrounding him had become exceedingly faint.

He had already reached the limits of his endurance.

Even standing upright required nearly all his remaining strength.

Yet, he continued to watch the battlefield.

His gaze passed over the countless figures flying towards the Upper Realm army, and his expression gradually became complicated.

Then, suddenly, his eyes widened.

Among the figures streaking across the heavens, he saw a familiar silhouette.

For a brief moment, he thought his eyes were deceiving him, but it was impossible.

He recognized that figure; he could never mistake her.

Wang Daoyun’s breathing stopped. His body trembled, and he nearly lost his balance atop the ruined mountain.

The silhouette seemed to sense his gaze, and for an instant, she turned her head, giving a faint, familiar smile which seemed completely out of place amidst the devastation surrounding them.

At that moment, a voice transmission suddenly sounded within Wang Daoyun’s mind.

"Even now, I still don’t believe that the Divinity Transcendence Venerable is any inferior to the Eternal Lord."

Lin Xiaoxiao’s voice was calm, containing no hesitation, fear, or any trace of regret.

Wang Daoyun’s pupils constricted, his hand subconsciously reaching out, but the words remained trapped within his throat, refusing to come out.

The silhouette turned away and continued flying towards the battlefield.

Wang Daoyun stood motionless, slowly lowering his outstretched hand.

His fingers tightened around the broken hilt of his sword, feeling utterly powerless.

He could only watch as the people he knew, the geniuses of his generation, and the countless cultivators who had once pursued their own paths converged upon a single destination, the place where their lives would end.

...

Above the Central Continent, the Upper Realm army finally began to panic.

The countless self-detonations had already thrown their weaker members into chaos, and the incoming figures showed no sign of stopping.

Just then, the supreme prodigies arrived.

Ying Qingshuang’s seven black swords illuminated the heavens, Monk Yellow Robed’s golden radiance spread across the battlefield, the Path Seeker Daoist’s aura surged as the Dao he had pursued throughout his life began to disintegrate, Long Wanchun’s wind and thunder tore through the surrounding void, and Lin Xiaoxiao’s body erupted with a crescent moon Spear Intent as she approached the enemy.

For a brief moment, the countless figures seemed to have reached the same conclusion.

There was no need for further coordination or another command. They had already made their choice.

The surviving members of their respective forces gazed at those figures with complex emotions stirring in their eyes, but they ultimately made no moves to stop them.

Their auras erupted simultaneously as their bodies began to crack, their Nascent Souls burned, and their Daos disintegrated.

The countless shooting stars that had filled the heavens suddenly became brighter than ever before, illuminating the entire sky of not just the Central Continent, but the entire Mortal World.

*BOOM!*

The Heavenly Region shook!

A terrifying radiance swallowed the battlefield, expanding in every direction with an overwhelming force.

The explosions overlapped, merging into a single destructive torrent that annihilated everything within a radius of over a million miles.

Even the worldly laws and heavenly rules were torn apart beneath the combined might of these supreme geniuses sacrificing their existences.

The Upper Realm army was completely engulfed.

The woman in pale golden robes barely had time to widen her eyes before the overwhelming radiance swallowed her figure.

The heavens and earth trembled as the blood red sky was illuminated by an endless sea of light, and for that brief moment, the Mortal World seemed to have become a world of shooting stars.

Countless mortals raised their heads, their eyes reflecting the lights of those stars exploding one after another as countless prayers surged towards the heavens.

The little girl in the distant village stared at the brilliant sky with wide eyes, instinctively clutching her mother’s robe.

"Mom..."

She whispered, her voice laced with a trace of wonder.

"Look! My wish is coming true!"

Her mother embraced her tightly, tears streaming down her face.

She did not know whether the Immortals had won, but she continued looking towards the heavens, hoping that her daughter was right.
