Eternal Life as False Emperor
Chapter 634 - 458: A Wise Man Submits to Circumstances (Part 2)
Zheng Yi now wants to crack open Zhao Tianming’s skull and take a look.
This guy, could there be something wrong with him?
Otherwise, how could such shameless words come out of his mouth?
Knowing this guy is intentionally disgusting him, Zheng Yi can’t be bothered to waste words, so he gets straight to the point: "Since Mine Master has graced us with his presence, I have some matters I’d like to discuss with him. I wonder if Mine Master would favor me with a talk?"
Previously, Zheng Yi felt a bit frustrated, as the Heavenly Dao seemed to be targeting him intentionally or unintentionally, making everything he did cumbersome.
But now he realizes this might actually be a good thing.
Originally, Zheng Yi hoped to stir up some trouble and draw Zhao Tianming into the mine shaft.
But with the interference of the Heavenly Dao, now this place seems to be much more fitting than the mine shaft.
Not only is the location suitable, but importantly, two Zhao Family members have also died here.
Zhao Tianming, this guy, is now considered his accomplice.
"Discuss matters with me?" Zhao Tianming’s mouth curled into a smile: "I’m quite curious, this guy who’s bold enough to even dare to kill Zhao Family members, what could you possibly want to discuss with me?"
Just as Zheng Yi was about to speak, Zhao Tianming suddenly attacked, flames erupted from his body, and a massive fireball appeared in an instant, smashing towards Zheng Yi.
"I knew it wouldn’t be this simple." Zheng Yi took a deep breath.
Feeling the scorching air burned by the flames, Zheng Yi slowly raised his small sword.
In the blink of an eye, the sharp Sword Qi cleaved the fireball in half, crashing directly into Zhao Tianming, who was planning to launch a sneak attack following the fireball.
This move, even Zheng Yi hadn’t anticipated.
Though the attack was quite clever, Zhao Tianming clearly chose the wrong opponent today.
If Zhao Tianming hadn’t started dodging when he sensed something was wrong, Zheng Yi’s casually unleashed Sword Qi might have severely injured him.
Even so, Zhao Tianming wasn’t having a good time.
The Divinity Transformation Stage Sword Qi left a deep, bone-revealing wound on his shoulder.
If he hadn’t dodged in advance, that Sword Qi might have directly chopped his head off.
"So strong." Zhao Tianming thought in shock as he rapidly retreated.
Upon arriving here and seeing the bodies strewn across the ground, Zhao Tianming had already speculated that Zheng Yi’s strength was likely formidable.
However, Zhao Tianming thought that it shouldn’t be just him who did all the killing here.
As long as his actions were fast enough, he might still capture Zheng Yi. At that time, he could make these people cautious.
But he didn’t expect his assumption to be entirely wrong.
The strength of this guy in front of him was terrifying to the point of suffocation.
With just one move, he was already heavily injured and defeated.
"Such a formidable expert, how come I’ve never heard any news of them before?" The thought flashed through Zhao Tianming’s mind, and disregarding his severe injury, he turned to flee.
"Quite decisive." Zheng Yi coldly smiled: "Can I still let you escape?"
Zhao Tianming hadn’t gotten far before a Sword Qi shot past him.
Along the way, regardless of trees, flowers, stones, they were all split in two by the Sword Qi.
If he had moved a bit faster, perhaps Zhao Tianming himself would have been cut in half by the Sword Qi.
Zhao Tianming forcibly halted his steps and turned around to face Zheng Yi: "What do you want to do?"
Zheng Yi looked at Zhao Tianming with a sly smile and said, "Actually, it’s nothing much. I just hope Mine Master will help me write something."
Zhao Tianming realized suddenly: "I see, it turns out you’re after the Fire Rock Ore."
"Alright, no matter how much you want, I can have people prepare it."
The performance of this guy vividly explained the saying, "A wise man submits to circumstances."
Even though he nearly died at Zheng Yi’s hands just now, now he seems completely unbothered, extremely generous and bold.
"Since that’s the case, then thank you, Mine Master." Zheng Yi doesn’t expose Zhao Tianming’s ulterior motives.
Taking out paper and pen, he places them on a relatively flat stone: "I’ve already prepared the content for Mine Master, you just need to copy it."
For some reason, Zhao Tianming feels his scalp tingle.
Yet being under someone else’s roof, he has to lower his head.
He can only suppress his anger and pick up the template Zheng Yi prepared for him to read.
Glancing through the contents in one look, Zhao Tianming’s face turns ashen like a pot bottom.
"I absolutely won’t write this thing." As if to show determination, Zhao Tianming directly rips the sample paper to shreds.
The next moment, another Sword Qi flies past Zhao Tianming.
After the Sword Qi, the sleeve of Zhao Tianming was cut open with a large gap, and blood flowed profusely from his arm.
"Oops, missed a little bit, Minister Zhao, you mustn’t mind." Zheng Yi fiddled with his small sword, without a hint of apology on his face.
The expression implied a kind of unfulfilled anticipation, as if hoping Zhao Tianming to try his hand again.
Zhao Tianming felt a chill on his neck.
No matter how he interprets his opponent’s words, he senses regret from them for not having chopped off his arm with the Sword Qi just now.
Another piece of paper is placed in front of Zhao Tianming: "Minister Zhao, this is the last one. If it’s accidentally ruined again, I truly won’t have a backup."
This is telling him, if he doesn’t comply, there won’t be another chance.
Write or not?
In his mind, Zhao Tianming was at war with himself.
The so-called sample given by Zheng Yi is not particularly profound.
It’s just an allegiance letter.
He, Zhao Tianming, vows to from now on follow Zheng Yi and assist in overthrowing the tyrannical Zhao Family.
Though ornate, it had a hundred or so words.
But boiled down, it essentially meant this.
Though there wasn’t anything inherently seditious in it.
But Zhao Tianming knows, this thing for him is essentially a death warrant.
No matter what he did or how many things he accomplished.
As long as Zhao Family members see this confession, he’s completely done for.
Zhao Family members absolutely won’t care about the circumstances under which he writes this.
They would only see him as a traitor who completely betrayed the Zhao Family.
For traitors.
Zhao Family members always punish in the harshest ways.
Neither his family nor the mistress and illegitimate child living in the county would escape the Zhao Family’s cleansing.
Though he’s already thoroughly disappointed with the Zhao Family, he cannot only consider himself.
"You..." Zhao Tianming absolutely doesn’t dare to write this.
He grits his teeth, shuts his eyes, and speaks with a hoarse throat: "Why don’t you just kill me instead."
"Killing you is easy, but without your protection, Aru and your son probably wouldn’t survive long either, would they?"
Zhao Tianming’s eyes turned red, and he roared furiously: "Bastard, don’t you know the principle of sparing family?"
"If you dare do anything to them, even as a ghost I will never let you go!"
Zheng Yi scoffed: "I didn’t fear you alive, much less as a ghost?"
"Zhao Tianming, it’s easy for you to choose to die now, don’t think I don’t dare to kill you."
"The only reason I kept you till now is that you’re still useful to me."
"Besides, since you know what the Zhao Family is like, are you truly willing to die for those people now?"
Saying this, Zheng Yi raises his small sword and aims it at Zhao Tianming: "Of course, if you truly have such a wish, it’s not impossible for me to fulfill it."
Zhao Tianming’s face flushed red then turned pale, after a long struggle, he gritted his teeth: "I’ll write it."
The pen flowed smoothly, copying the template Zheng Yi had prepared, before taking out his seal and stamping it, handing it over to Zheng Yi.
If it were his younger days, Zhao Tianming might have had the courage for a desperate struggle.
But now, putting everything aside, he truly isn’t willing to die for the Zhao Family.
Zheng Yi carefully inspected it and found no issues, only then did he nod in satisfaction.
