Chapter 584 -528: Immortal Spirit

With a sweep of his sleeve, Chu Mu made the Jade Scroll hover before him. After only a moment, he raised his hand and flipped it, causing the Jade Scroll to vanish into his Storage Space.

‘These ruins are unique. This place is still relatively safe for now.’

“You all should find a Cave Mansion here and enter secluded Cultivation. After a sixty-year cycle, when the ruins reappear in the world, we will discuss our next move.”

“We obey your command.”

The three replied in succession, bowing deeply.

Chu Mu gave a slight nod. With a flick of his fingertips, several beams of blade light flashed through the trenches on the seabed. In just a few breaths, three simple underwater caves took shape.

With another sweep of his sleeve, several Array Plates descended into each cave, and one by one, the simple Cave Mansions were complete.

Upon seeing this, the three bowed respectfully once more before leaping from the Flying Boat and entering their respective Cave Mansions.

Chu Mu glanced at the three who had entered their Cave Mansions. He pondered for a moment, and with a mere thought, several Cyan Bird Puppets dispersed in all directions.

The Flying Boat then descended slowly, finally settling on the seabed. A faint Array Prohibition rippled, and the Sky-Breaking Flying Boat, now hovering on the ocean floor, vanished from sight.

Inside the Flying Boat’s cabin, Chu Mu slapped the Qiankun Bag at his waist. A series of excited roars echoed as a flash of pale gold suddenly appeared. In the next instant, it shot in front of Chu Mu, wagging its tail and affectionately rubbing its head against him.

“This period of secluded Cultivation will likely be quite long. You keep watch.”

Chu Mu rubbed Wangcai’s head, chuckling as he gave the order. He then took out a Storage Bag. With a brief scan of his Divine Sense, he saw that inside, the flesh and blood of Demon Beasts were piled up like a mountain, all collected during his time at the Demon Suppression Islands.

In a corner, there were also dozens of Jade Bottles containing Elixirs. Each of these Jade Bottles held a Beast Spirit Pill that he had specially modified for Wangcai’s bloodline.

These would be of immense benefit to Wangcai’s Cultivation.

With Wangcai’s current bloodline aptitude and under his meticulous arrangements, its Cultivation Progress was far faster than even his own.

For example, they were both at Tier Three, but Wangcai had reached this stage years after he had. However, thanks to its Celestial Tier Bloodline—which was nearly on par with a Celestial Spirit Root—and the immense resources Chu Mu had spared no expense to provide, its Cultivation Progress in the Tier Three realm had, from what he could tell, already far surpassed his own.

If he was still some distance from the Tier Three Middle Stage, then Wangcai was practically on its doorstep.

If all went smoothly, it was certain to break through before he did.

Wangcai let out a low growl.

Chu Mu glanced at the three Cave Mansions on the seabed and smiled. “Don’t worry about them. They won’t run.”

Wangcai whimpered twice, as if to acknowledge his words.

“Alright, go and cultivate. Remember, don’t run too far. This is the Deep Sea, full of dangers. There are many beings we cannot hope to defeat…”

Chu Mu gave his instructions. Wangcai huffed twice, as if taking it all very seriously. The moment Chu Mu finished speaking, it shot impatiently out of the Flying Boat and vanished into the gloomy depths of the sea.

The corner of Chu Mu’s mouth twitched, and he gave a helpless smile. He couldn’t be bothered to worry too much. The stage where its Spiritual Wisdom was maturing was much like a human’s transition from childhood to adulthood.

And Wangcai, now with its Tier Three Cultivation, was undoubtedly in the midst of that very process.

Proper guidance was far better than direct intervention.

A Demon Beast’s nature also needed an outlet.

He pondered for a moment, his gaze shifting before finally settling on the Qiankun Bag at his waist. Inside it, the Corpse Puppet was still barely alive.

Reviving it would be quite simple.

He could either risk a trip to Bazhou, or he could dismantle the Ten Thousand Souls Banner and use the countless Resentful Ghosts and Evil Spirits within as nourishment to heal the Corpse Puppet.

Of course, he could also go to great lengths to hunt Demon Beasts in the Outer Sea, feeding them to the Corpse Puppet as sustenance to heal it bit by bit.

But that method was clearly destined to be an extremely long process.

A hundred-zhang tall Corpse Puppet at Tier Three Perfection, a body nearly peerless below the Nascent Soul realm… the amount of Energy it required was no small matter.

Moreover, either choice would only restore the Corpse Puppet’s physical body. This puppet was not merely flesh and blood; a considerable portion of its frame was a fusion of Artifact Creation and living tissue.

These artifact components also needed to be repaired.

‘Forget it…’

Chu Mu heaved a long sigh, unwilling to dwell on it any longer.

The Corpse Puppet’s life force was tenacious; it wouldn’t die in the short term.

Once he was finished here, he would head to Bazhou. A full sixty-year cycle would pass. Even if the Chen Family wanted to lie in wait, they couldn’t possibly keep it up for sixty years.

As for that Ten Thousand Souls Banner, if used properly, such a Ghostly Dao Supreme Treasure might bring him unexpected gains.

He took a step and entered the Secluded Meditation Chamber.

Sitting cross-legged, the Cyan Lotus Earth Core Flame hovered before him. He watched it for a while, feeling the mind-clearing and calming effect it emanated, but he did not choose to refine and devour it. Instead, he let the Cyan Lotus Earth Core Flame burn brightly.

After a moment, with a sweep of his sleeve, dozens of crystal-clear Jade Bottles scattered before him. He reached out his hand, and the seal on one of the Jade Bottles broke. A One-Patterned Elixir hovered in his palm.

The elixir was named Immortal Infant, from a Tier Three Pill Recipe of his own creation. The name symbolized the Immortal Golden Core Breaking the Core to Form the Infant.

This elixir originated from the Alchemy Inheritance of an Ancient Immortal Dao Sect, combining the Great Chu system of refining Spirit Medicine and the Vast Sea system of using demons for pills. It was refined with a Fire Attribute Demon Pill as the main ingredient, supplemented by a five-hundred-year-old Immortal Spirit Grass.

The reason he could be so extravagant was all thanks to the Chen Family’s Merit Hall.

And for him, it was obviously impossible to be short on Merit Points at the Demon Suppression Islands.

In the Demon Suppression Islands’ Merit Hall, whenever aged Spirit Medicine appeared, he had taken most of them for himself.

And the Immortal Spirit Grass was rumored to be a Spirit Medicine that the Chen Family had cultivated with great success. The Chen Family’s Spirit Plant Masters’ exclusive Immortal Spirit Technique was created specifically for the Immortal Spirit Grass.

According to rumors, a Tier Three Spirit Plant Master from the Chen Family who cultivated the Immortal Spirit Technique could even reduce the cultivation time of a thousand-year-old Immortal Spirit Grass to one-third of the normal duration.

It was unclear if this was true, but the most common Spirit Medicine to appear in the Demon Suppression Islands’ Merit Hall was this very Immortal Spirit Grass, which could both refine one’s Magical Power and aid in Concentrating Spirit.

For the Bloodline Cultivators of the Vast Sea, the effects of Immortal Spirit Grass were a perfect match for their needs, making it a veritable Supreme Treasure for them.

On the Demon Suppression Islands, in his capacity as an Alchemy Master, the elixirs he had refined most often—aside from Support Cultivation Elixirs made with Demon Pills—were those that used Immortal Spirit Grass as their primary ingredient.

Refining Magical Power and concentrating the spirit were constant necessities for Bloodline Cultivators.

And his Immortal Spirit Pill was designed primarily to avoid Erysipelas by using the unique properties of Immortal Spirit Grass to refine a Flawless Elixir, thus maximizing the purity of its Medicinal Power.

The end result was the Immortal Spirit Pill now before him.

The drawbacks of Erysipelas were reduced to the absolute limit of his abilities.

If the Erysipelas from an ordinary elixir was a ten, then this elixir’s was at most a five.

If it was a Pill Pattern Elixir, then it would be one or two at most.

Although he had only sold a few dozen of these elixirs on the Demon Suppression Islands, they had practically created a legend and caused a considerable stir.

His title as an Alchemy Master had only become completely indisputable after the appearance of this elixir.

Gazing at the Immortal Spirit Pill in his hand for a moment, Chu Mu seemed somewhat wistful.

Immortal Golden Core, Breaking the Core to Form the Infant.

This elixir held a deep meaning, and it was precisely this hope that had led to its creation.

‘Less Erysipelas means a stronger foundation. Doesn’t that also mean a greater hope of Breaking the Core to Form the Infant?’

A lifespan of thousands of years, treating all living beings as chess pieces, a single move on the board changing the destinies of countless cultivators.

Nascent Soul…

Chu Mu murmured. He swallowed the elixir and closed his eyes. Under the dual enhancement of the Spiritual Radiance Effect and the mind-calming properties of the Cyan Lotus Earth Core Flame, Magical Power surged around him, isolating him from all external sensations. He had once again entered a state of secluded Cultivation, free from all distractions.

In this state, the outside world ceased to have any relevance.

Cut off from the world.

Time flew by, the days passing in silence.

Spring passed into autumn. The seasons changed, alternating time and again across this stretch of sea, this small corner of the world, each one arriving only to recede.

The passage of time seemed to have no meaning in this part of the sea.

Though time passed, the sea remained the same, its waves still surging. Whether a monstrous tsunami raged or the waters fell deathly calm, nothing could affect those in seclusion on the seabed in the slightest.

However, during this time, this sea region seemed to have welcomed a new overlord.

A Vajra Wolf King with a cultivation as high as the Tier Three Middle Stage and a Celestial Tier Bloodline naturally had an easy time subduing and suppressing the Demon Beasts of this sea region, becoming its undisputed overlord.

But with the Vajra Wolf King’s childish temperament, the many Demon Beasts in this region were undoubtedly put through the wringer.

But in the Endless Vast Sea, under the savage order of the Demon Beasts, the emergence of a new Tier Three Demon Beast was obviously not a big deal.

This was especially true since the great war instigated by the Profound Serpent Race had only recently subsided. After countless Beast Tides had been unleashed, the old order in every sea region under the Profound Serpent Race’s dominion had been shattered.

With the old order broken, the savage jungle of the Demon Beast World was clearly evolving rapidly, just like the sudden emergence of this Vajra Wolf King. It would only stabilize slightly once a new jungle order was formed again.

Such evolution was perfectly normal in the vastness of the Endless Vast Sea.

As for the Profound Serpent Race, they only needed to wait for this evolution to conclude. Then, they would seize control of the High Tier Demon Beasts that had become the new kings and overlords of each region, and a new order under the Profound Serpent Race’s control would naturally take shape.

If they were to start another war in the future, it would be a simple matter to rely on this order to unleash one dreaded Beast Tide after another.

Having spent many years on the Demon Suppression Islands, Chu Mu understood this perfectly. Wangcai’s Spiritual Wisdom was not low, and under Chu Mu’s guidance, it had become extremely clever.

Perhaps knowing that its antics as king of the region were causing too much of a commotion, it feared Chu Mu’s disapproval.

After venting its childish impulses, Wangcai swatted and killed the few Demon Beasts in the area that possessed some Spiritual Wisdom. Then, mimicking Chu Mu, it meticulously cleaned up all traces of its presence before zipping back to the seabed and carefully sneaking into the Sky-Breaking Flying Boat.

It lay down outside the Secluded Meditation Chamber, occasionally taking a large bite of flesh to feast upon and occasionally popping an elixir like a candy bean. Just like Chu Mu inside, it began its own session of secluded Cultivation in a most serious manner.

Its Cultivation, already at the Tier Three Middle Stage, was steadily advancing under this near-unlimited supply of resources…
