Eternal Life: I Can Sell Everything
Chapter 290 - 283: Strange Harvest in the Demon Realm
[Malice from the Serpent Demon, a General Spirit Level Demon: three taels and four maces. Tradable.]
[Malice from the Skinless Monkey, a General Spirit Level Demon: five taels and six maces. Tradable.]
[Malice from a General Spirit Level Demon...]
...
All these Demons were at the General Spirit Level. According to information Song Ciwan had previously researched in Pinglan City, this was equivalent to the Spirit Communication Level for Demons.
In other words, the Cultivation of these Demons should be comparable to a human’s Qi Cultivation Stage.
In that single instant, Song Ciwan had collected a total of eighty-seven wisps of Malice from General Spirit Level Demons, weighing a combined forty-two jin!
’How much Lifespan could such a heavy weight of Malice be sold for?’
Song Ciwan, whose Lifespan had only been decreasing lately, immediately felt the urge to sell all this Malice. Of course, she resisted.
The Spirit Realm was strange, and the Demon Realm was even stranger. In bizarre places like these, Song Ciwan wouldn’t casually use the Heaven and Earth Scale to make a trade unless it was absolutely necessary.
Not unless she was forced, with her Lifespan on the verge of running out.
Otherwise, short of a truly desperate situation, Song Ciwan was determined to remain cautious to the very end.
She continued to observe carefully.
The Green Leaf Butterflies flew up, their wings forming a circle, and gently settled over the outer edge of the red fruit on the branch.
And then... nothing more happened.
This red fruit, fought over by so many Demons, might truly possess some incredible power, but for the time being, Song Ciwan couldn’t see what use it had.
She didn’t want to waste any more time waiting, nor did she intend to fight the Green Leaf Butterflies for the red fruit—in an unknown realm, for an unknown Marvel, Song Ciwan was not one to take risks lightly.
She no longer waited and continued to drift onward.
Following the direction of the leaves’ growth, she moved forward to continue gathering information about the Demon Realm and, of course, to search for Luming Grass.
The wind blew past, the Green Leaf Butterflies still covering the red fruit, while Song Ciwan had already drifted far into the distance.
As she continued on her way, Song Ciwan gained a new appreciation for the sheer diversity of species in the Demon Realm.
The various strange Demon Spirits she had seen before were nothing. The strangest were a kind of faintly glowing, suspended fungus floating in the air. Those Demon Spirits were the most terrifying of all.
Song Ciwan witnessed a Skinless Monkey leaping between the branches when, suddenly, a floating fungal blossom brushed past it.
The very next moment, the Skinless Monkey collapsed onto a branch below.
The Skinless Monkey shrieked, its front paws clawing at its throat. It seemed to be locked in a desperate struggle with something terrifying, but all its efforts were in vain.
Soon, fine, snow-white mycelia like silken threads began to sprout rapidly from the Skinless Monkey’s orifices.
In the blink of an eye, the mycelia had covered its entire body.
After another moment, the mycelia turned black and shrank.
Finally, the mycelia contracted into a ball and reformed into a jet-black fungal blossom.
The blossom floated into the air and drifted away. The Skinless Monkey it had enveloped was gone.
Only a pile of black ash remained.
Having witnessed this scene, Song Ciwan instantly put distance between herself and the fungal blossom, immediately switching from external breathing to Inner Breathing.
From that moment on, she didn’t dare take a single breath of the Demon Realm’s air. No matter how strong the resistance granted by her Body of Impermanence, she wouldn’t risk it.
Fortunately, having her Body of Impermanence at the Great Success stage meant Song Ciwan could hold her breath for ten days without a problem. Amid the horrors of the Demon Realm, this was a rare and welcome comfort.
And so, Song Ciwan collected another wisp of Death Qi, along with one of Malice.
She traveled onward, collecting as she went. In what felt like a blur, she had gathered an amount of Malice comparable to Washing Demons in the Washing Room for several years.
The wonder of the Demon Realm, where fortune and disaster were so closely intertwined, was truly beyond description.
