Eternal Life through Drawing Lots
Chapter 509 - 431: Contention for the Imperial Throne
Chapter 509: Chapter 431: Contention for the Imperial Throne
...
The master of a lineage, or a Primordial Ancestor, was among the most special existences in the Eight Domains of Heaven and Earth.
They received the boundless favor of Heaven and Earth’s will, born with the supreme potential to reach the realm of a Young Venerable.
The level of their existence was extraordinary.
A Primordial Ancestor who was extremely firm and yang was even more terrifying.
For such an existence, there were typically two paths.
Either they could preserve their vital essence, embracing yang while bearing yin to achieve self-perfection.
Or they could unleash it, uniting yin and yang to be reborn from destruction.
But once unleashed, unless another Primordial Ancestor who was their yin-yang counterpart appeared, the consequences would be dire.
There were two examples: one was the Thunder Saint Venerable, the other the Bliss Demon Venerable.
To put it bluntly, after the three great eras of antiquity, desolation, and recent times, basically everyone in the Profound Domain’s Human Race possessed the bloodline of the Golden Clan. The only difference was its purity.
The Bliss Demon Venerable was even more outrageous.
Before attaining the Dao, he had always been the leader of the righteous path, admired by the masses and respected by all.
But after he attained the Dao, his temperament changed drastically. He took countless beautiful women into his harem, causing turmoil in the world.
Some Great Powers believed this was because the three energies of Heaven, Earth, and Man within the Bliss Demon Venerable’s Immortal Acupoint had fallen out of balance. This created a flaw in his Great Dao, which in turn destabilized his status as a Primordial Ancestor.
This was because the place where the Bliss Demon Venerable attained the Dao was the Desolate Realm.
And the previous venerable of the Desolate Realm had been the Heaven-Devouring Demon Emperor.
Because the Heaven-Devouring Demon Emperor had deludedly tried to merge his body with the heavens and earth, the Desolate Realm had been left incomplete.
Therefore, the Bliss Demon Venerable needed to use immense popular energy to reverse yin and yang and maintain his Dao Fruit.
In short, the existence level of a lineage master was simply too high.
Such beings could only walk paths of extremity.
They either had to preserve their vital essence forever and achieve self-perfection, or unleash it and be reborn from destruction.
Among them, Fang Yang was both the Master of the Golden Crow and the Kunpeng Ancestor.
His uniqueness was plain to see.
Moreover, as the Kunpeng Ancestor, once he began to spread his lineage and propagate his bloodline, he would be able to contend for the authority over fate within the Eight Domains of Heaven and Earth, gathering it all to himself.
He naturally possessed the potential to become the master of a Yun Dynasty!
...
"Xiaohui, there are many things your father couldn’t easily explain to you."
"So, I’ll lay it all out for you, piece by piece."
A silver disk hung high in the sky, scattering its bright, pure moonlight.
At this moment, Mrs. Sen held Sen Hui’s delicate hand.
She spoke as someone with experience, trying to guide Sen Hui.
She was Mrs. Sen, but she was also Yao Xinmi, once one of the few top prodigies of the Daoist Mansion of Eternal Life.
Back then, she too had dreamed of being with Father Sen, just the two of them, for a lifetime.
But as Father Sen’s power grew and his existence level leaped forward, she began to feel overwhelmed.
At times, she even suspected she might die in bed.
Perhaps it was due to the virtue expected of a Great Vein Matriarch, or perhaps it was simple self-preservation.
She made a choice!
Otherwise, if she had vetoed it, Sen Hui’s birth mother, Cang Qiurou, would never have been able to marry into the Sen family, let alone give birth to Sen Hui.
Under the night moon.
The two sat in a pavilion in the medicinal garden.
The medicinal garden was tranquil, without a single jarring sound—serene and natural.
Listening to her mother’s words, Sen Hui’s long eyelashes trembled, but her figure remained perfectly still, like a snow orchid in a secluded valley.
In truth, even if her mother hadn’t said a word, she had already made her decision.
Perhaps it was because of her own family situation, or perhaps it was because Fang Yang had already risen to prominence.
A long time ago, she had already imagined such a scenario.
Besides, even if no one else said it, she could see it for herself.
’Many people think that if I weren’t Han Wu’s daughter, I wouldn’t be worthy of Fang Yang at all!’
But now, hearing her mother explain it this way, the knot of frustration deep in her heart began to loosen with relief.
’I can’t imagine, when I eventually leave this world, how will the next matriarch who takes my place treat my children?’
’But most importantly, I believe Fang Yang will absolutely never let me down!’
"Yes, Mother. Don’t worry," Sen Hui said with a smile, comforting Mrs. Sen in turn.
The moonlight cascaded down, making her long, black hair drift and her fair skin glow with a crystalline luster.
Her understanding, however, made Mrs. Sen’s heart ache for her, and she pulled her into an embrace.
Mrs. Sen gently stroked her hair, her eyes brimming with tears. "Good child, good child. You can rest assured. No matter what happens, your father and I will always be here for you."
...
The dark clouds in the sky grew heavier, and the night, in turn, grew deeper.
The stars in the night sky were almost completely obscured by the thick clouds.
Only a few remained, flickering with weak light as if struggling to be seen.
"There’s been a great change in the Cosmic Realm. A power above the level of a Great Saint has appeared."
The Changkong Sky Bow trembled slightly, and the atmosphere grew heavy.
Just now, the contingency it had left in Void Heaven was activated.
Immediately, it entered Void Heaven to receive the latest intelligence.
"A great change?!" Yu Zither Immortal raised a delicate eyebrow, looking toward Fang Yang.
Fang Yang shook his head and stopped Yu Zither Immortal from trying to enter Void Heaven.
The two of them were visitors who did not belong to this space-time.
Void Heaven was formed from a portion of the world’s origin and inherently contained part of the will of the Eight Domains of Heaven and Earth.
If their consciousnesses were to enter Void Heaven, their disguises would fail, and the consequences would be unimaginable.
"See if you can figure out the background of this mysterious visitor." The Changkong Sky Bow didn’t keep them in suspense.
A blue flower petal flashed, and a screen of light appeared, revealing a fragmented image.
Within the image, a Water Blue True Dragon appeared.
With its every move, the Water Blue True Dragon tore open the firmament of the Cosmic Realm—a horrifying sight that shook all living beings.
Looking down from high above, one could see black fissures crisscrossing the ground like a spiderweb, with one area having collapsed into a black abyss.
But soon, a massive Fire Lotus emerged.
The massive Fire Lotus blotted out the sky, emanating a hazy Chaos Qi and shimmering with radiant light, as if one had returned to the time before the world’s creation.
The Water Blue True Dragon and the massive Fire Lotus fought, locked in a deadly struggle.
Endless rain fell, washing everything away.
Boundless flames surged, vaporizing all things.
"Is that the Rain Dao Nine Heavens?!" Yu Zither Immortal’s gaze flickered with shock and uncertainty, suspecting that the Vast Sea Venerable Emperor had intervened in this timeline.
"It is the Rain Dao Nine Heavens, but it isn’t necessarily the Venerable Emperor," Fang Yang said, standing with his hands behind his back, his gaze profound.
This was because, given enough time, he could also reproduce and replicate the Rain Dao Nine Heavens to this extent.
Based on this point alone, one couldn’t conclude that the mysterious being was the Vast Sea Venerable Emperor.
In an instant, he felt shrouded in a dense fog of mystery.
But in the next moment, he felt a sense of relief.
This was because the era in the real world was the Dream Dao Era.
In the Dream Dao Era, an existence that transcends all others would emerge—an Emperor!
Putting himself in their shoes, any venerable with lingering regrets would surely make a move during the Dream Dao Era.
Even those ancient, long-vanished figures would all return.
(There’s another short Chapter coming, it will be released around 7 PM.)
(I thought about it for a long, long time last night, and I really did feel like running away. This romance plot has me tied in knots; I can’t move forward, and I can’t retreat. On top of that, it’s putting a debuff on my story’s performance.)
(I clearly feel that this book is much more mature and much more satisfying than my last one. But the results gave me a huge slap in the face. Not making progress is one thing, but to be regressing so badly is another.)
(After I finish this book, I’m going to switch to a brand-new author account and start over. I’ll focus entirely on performance. That way, if I have to drop a book, I won’t have a moral burden.)
(That’s about it...)
